Whichever way, the point is that our professionals and highly intellectual citizens are fleeing the country and it calls for government concern.

This is a lame cop-out as far as I can tell. There I was reading with the hope of learning something new.

Either you have the figures or you don't. Coming out in public with numbers that cannot be verified doesn't help your argument, mysterious NGO or not.

Until such a time when new and verifiable figures are presented from a credible source, people will continue with those provided by the government.

Hilarious I couldn't care less if you believe or not, your approval does nothing for me! I'm sure you are one of those that believe that 71% of Nigerians survive on less than a dollar per day and that about 92% survive on less than 2 dollars per day.....The funny thing about statistics is that it can be skewed....Lmao! So who is right? UNICEF or a well educated Nigerian, born and raised in Nigeria? Believe what you believe and I'll believe what I believe....lol

If you are thinking of immigrating do so through the legal route. The US and Canada, for example, have in place several immigration pathways that if followed afford people adequate support in the long and arduous process of relocation.

Do not for a second consider the way the people in the OP are going through, it is only a matter of time before even this route is sealed. Do it properly give you and your family peace of mind.

It doesnt make any sense. Why does Canada Govt keep those borders open is still a question left unanswered. They clearly have their motives.
best question on this thread.....i guess their motive was to allow skilled labourers/workers who find it difficult in USA into their country...now,they have realised that the population of unskilled ones are increasing as they ealier thought.

I wouldn't be surprised to know that the skilled immigrants were granted citizenship and the unskilled ones were deported

anyways,no country will want nuisance in their country.....productive minds will always be accepted

From what the Canada border official observed, the haitans have been in the US for several years and are only moving ilegally north after trump threatened to cancel the visa program they were on, but he said the Nigerians were simply applying for American visas from their home country only to appear a few weeks later trying to cross ilegally to Canada despite the several legal means of migrating. We are just a nation or people always looking for short cuts and ilegal ways of doing things.
Things do not work that way in developed countries. There is no shortcut to any good thing in life.
well said.....Nigerians are just too illegal in their dealings.its really sad

every Tom,dick and Harry is now considering going to USA through visiting visa, then crossing to canada

What other advice do you need? You read the story. Forward it to your hubby. If after reading this story and you both still go ahead to execute your relocation plan, don't blame anybody for your losses.

I lost hope on dis country since I was 15y when 2 of mah friend traveled out Canada/USA. Fast forward 10yrs later they have both built a house here in Nigeria and I am yet to have 100k in mah account. Nigeria is cursed whoever thinks this country will work is a joke even if they should give those of you blaming the gov, you guyz will still embezzle the money. They only things can work here is to call the whites back and let them takeover. Imaging if the british has found oil bfor they gave us independence they would have at least develop the country.

Hahaha, wait for Nairaland.com members to come after you for calling Nigeria a cursed land, l said it few days ago and a dimwit was spewing trash, I will always advice anyone that has the means to relocate legally to do so, I did that years ago and I am happy that I left without any regret, can you make it in Nigeria yes but be ready to cut corners and enjoy all the shithole it offers.

Build your house and plan very well with your husband and leave the jungle, even if you travel and things doesn't work for you, you will have your personal house to come back to.

It ain't easy these days. Even my agent who has been doing it miraculously for people, had his six applicants denied US visa just of recent. Not even a single one was given. I really thank God for my cousin, cos he applied 2ru him last year and was given 2 yrs visiting visa. He's set to move coming month. I'm next now according to the planned work on ground. Shallom!
Its only God and with mercy that grants one this visa my bro,He will favour us.

Don't mind that ITK boy, he thinks because Canadian PM said Canada is welcoming to new immigrants means that the country should throw its borders opened for every gbegiri and ewedu grin. He doesn't know that the reason countries like Canada is doing well is because the have strong economic plan and solid immigration projection and control

sent it to him, he said its for those going through the US and it's easy to get asylum when you go to Canada direct

if we build the house , who ll stay in it considering the fact that we might never come back ? and the money is either for the house project or relocation project

For the quoted above, after September 11, you need a visa to enter Canada from US and vice versa unless you have a Canadian passport or US passport. Even a permanent resident in Canada needs a visa to enter US and same applies to US permanent resident. The fact that Canada is still accepting these illegal immigrants without Canadian visas shows how hospitable Canada is. US will never do the same if it were to be the other way round. US should get their shiit together and be accountable for people they give visiting visa
Just so you know. Canada and US are 2 separate countries.

Before September 11-2001, people who weren't Canadians or Americans needed visa to cross the US Canada borderline. US permanent residents never need a visa to come into Canada. But permanent residents of Canada always need visa to enter the US.
Back in the days the Citizens of the 2 countries didn't need a passport to cross the borderline. All that was needed was a proof of Citizenship like a birth certificate and a driver licence. But today, even a child need a passport to cross the borderline.
