What about Paul Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple? Though some of the points raised were correct. He was shown the back door at Apple because of his perfectionist attitude where he treated almost everyone like trash. He was such a perfectionist that he couldn't find suitable furniture for one of his mansions. But he was creative and wealthy and if not for him, Apple wouldn't be where it is today.

Perfectionist don't treat people like trash. They simply love to stick to rules. They love doing things the way it should be done, unlike your average Nigeria

Oga, I disagree with plenty things here. Me, I know that I am a perfectionist. No doubt about that. But I will agree with the being too serious part and the battle with obsession part. The creative part is totally false as we all know Michael Jackson and Bill Gates are hard core perfectionists. They (I inclusive) will pour out our creative side to a cause and leave other matters (our bedroom designs as it may concern you) to slack. This is because we generally will rather worry about the most effective things in our lives (Paretto Principle). The privacy thing is quite true, even me sef I like my privacy pass anything. We're definitely not hot tempered (we just like what we like). We are not stingy. We do not believe in freebies, both giving and receiving. As for wealthy, say no more. The wealthiest people are perfectionists. Please name one that isn't. As for me, I'm not wealthy yet, getting there.

1. They are too serious:

They do not joke with anything. They have their schedules planned ahead. They give you time for a meeting/date, know you are messed up if you arrive a minute late. It doesn’t matter if it was your boss who kept you longer than needed in the office, neither do they care if the circumstances surrounding your lateness is beyond your control.

2. They are loners:

They are masters at privacy related matters. They don’t welcome visitors because of the sole reason that they’d reconfigure their supposed configured room. They don’t want you to ruffle their properly spread duvet/bedsheet. Friends can go to hell.

3. They are less romantic:

Don’t be surprised if your girlfriend doesn’t wanna kiss you because she doesn’t wanna ruin her lipstick
She just did her hair so you can’t make love to her at the moment. They are all shades of brittleness!

4. They are hot tempered:

Did you quickly use his thing and didn’t return it to where it was? You are in for a hot soup!

5. They are usually stingy:

Not only monetarily, they can’t afford to lend friends their stuffs, no they are the only ones who can treat such stuff the right way and they don’t give a damn!
Should I mention the fact that they save new money notes in neat conditions for months; even when they are hungry? No they’d rather starve than spend a beautiful ‘untouch’ ‘aganran’ N500 note.

6. They are less creative:

Checkout the room configuration of a perfectionist today and contrast 10 years after, nothing would have changed. They are fixated on certain positions, other possibilities is DOA!

7. They battle obsession!

A perfectionist friend of mine will return an order in a restaurant if the attendant who served her food put meat on the rice rather than in a different bowl. Wtf??

8. They hardly get wealthy!

You scared? Yes and I mean it. Perfectionists suck at risk taking. Who are they to put up capital for business? They’d rather work under someone with their salary fixed than struggle with the thought of money loss trying to build a business.
Have you a friend who would rather borrow money from you than collect 50k from her N1M balance in the bank to pay her child’s school fees?
She doesn’t wanna fall short of being called a millionaire. How sweet?

Perhaps it's not a trashy treatment. But what would you call it if someone about to offer you something calls you "come, I know that all you've ever done in your life is shit"?
The thing is, it's different to be disciplined, strict and blunt. It's another thing to intimidate and abuse verbally just to show you're strict and disciplined. Most perfectionists fall into the second category though it's usually unintentional.

Germans and the Japanese are the highest perfectionists in the world and OP will agree with me that these two countries are the most developed and wealthy in the world.

I won't say you didn't try.
But I would rather say Perfectionism is as a result of a personality disorder called OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). They pay more attention to datials and can't bear it if something goes wrong. They don't mind doing what people would do within a day for 4days just to make sure it's perfect. And while they are busy trying to make one thing perfect, other things around them are going bad. This kind of person can't have time for relationships or leisure.if your friend displays all those characteristics you mentioned up there, advice them to start seing a psychologist. They are not okay.
Principled men would like this to be done right. In fact,every normal human being would like things to be done right. You can't say such a person is a perfectionist.
Being stingy has nothing to do with one being a perfectionist, that's way out of it.
Too serious... Seriousness is needed in everything we do. In marriage you have to be serious, in working you must be serious even when you play around you seriously play.
Base on how serious you say the perfectionist is, they are suppose to be wealthy but you contradicted that. How can someone shoes always serious and paying attention to details not be wealthy? Lol
But at Tue end of the day, even those who are wealthy but be wealthy beacsue they are serious in what thwyvarw doing. Nigerian politicians are really busy with their politics such that they don't pick up any other jobs. They want to know everything so that they can share in everything. They don't go late when is time to collect the national cake and even fight to show you how serious they are. That means they are perfectionists.
All these businesses men who are wealthy don't sleep at night, some don't even have time to impregnate their wives cos they are busy making money. Are they perfectionists?
I know lecturers who don't miss their lectures and come for lectures 10mins ahead of time. And once you come after them you won't enter the hall, are they perfectionists too. They are just trying to do things the way they should be done.

According to wikipedia Perfectionism, in psychology, is a personality trait characterized by a person's striving for flawlessness and setting high performance standards, accompanied by critical self-evaluations and concerns regarding others' evaluations. From my observation, most perfectionist are very fair minded and trust me, you would want a perfectionist to head your personal business in your absence or any organization that means a lot to you. Perfectionists rock.

how did this shit make FP, almost all the points are wrong, perfectionists are the best business men, they are always ahead of others just because they make every go smoothly out of perfection, they are very wealthy examples are Steve jobs and aamir khan(the bollywood actor) they don't even like working under a boss because they feel it reduces their perfection. about the time keeping shit, that is just about discipline, not perfectionism, infact they may be late to meetings because they were adding final touches to an already perfect project
a perfectionist isn't stingy, he just thinks money shouldn't be wasted on irrelevant things
dont try to make laziness a good thing by making perfectionism look bad.

However, have u realized these characteristics of perfectionists??

1. They are too serious:

They do not joke with anything. They have their schedules planned ahead. They give you time for a meeting/date, know you are messed up if you arrive a minute late. It doesn’t matter if it was your boss who kept you longer than needed in the office, neither do they care if the circumstances surrounding your lateness is beyond your control.

2. They are loners:

They are masters at privacy related matters. They don’t welcome visitors because of the sole reason that they’d reconfigure their supposed configured room. They don’t want you to ruffle their properly spread duvet/bedsheet. Friends can go to hell.

3. They are less romantic:

Don’t be surprised if your girlfriend doesn’t wanna kiss you because she doesn’t wanna ruin her lipstick
She just did her hair so you can’t make love to her at the moment. They are all shades of brittleness!

4. They are hot tempered:

Did you quickly use his thing and didn’t return it to where it was? You are in for a hot soup!

5. They are usually stingy:

Not only monetarily, they can’t afford to lend friends their stuffs, no they are the only ones who can treat such stuff the right way and they don’t give a damn!
Should I mention the fact that they save new money notes in neat conditions for months; even when they are hungry? No they’d rather starve than spend a beautiful ‘untouch’ ‘aganran’ N500 note.

6. They are less creative:

Checkout the room configuration of a perfectionist today and contrast 10 years after, nothing would have changed. They are fixated on certain positions, other possibilities is DOA!

7. They battle obsession!

A perfectionist friend of mine will return an order in a restaurant if the attendant who served her food put meat on the rice rather than in a different bowl. Wtf??

8. They hardly get wealthy!

You scared? Yes and I mean it. Perfectionists suck at risk taking. Who are they to put up capital for business? They’d rather work under someone with their salary fixed than struggle with the thought of money loss trying to build a business.
Have you a friend who would rather borrow money from you than collect 50k from her N1M balance in the bank to pay her child’s school fees?
She doesn’t wanna fall short of being called a millionaire. How sweet?

i plan things ahead, perfectionist are very creative, am an extremely creative person and i work in the entertainment industry too, perfectionist, are always very rich and wealthy, except foolish ones

and am not really a loner, i love being around people am comfortable with, maybe not at my house always, but i love being around people

my love for perfection have helped in my line of career as a movie producer and a music artist

i know nothing is perfect, but i strive to achieve something that is close to perfection

if you dont strive for perfection in whatever you do, then what do you strive for?
