The mere fact that they carry the same HP isnt the sole determinant of how fast the car will be in a race. HP is a part of it-yes, but there are other factors that determine how fast a car will go e.g acceleration, body weight, stability (most of these MBs are either rear wheel drive or 4matics which gives them better stability and control while the honda is just FWD), transmission (the MBs are mostly 7speed and now even 8speed while the hondas are 5 or 6 speed), top speed too matters, turbo chargers/superchargers (which the honda doesnt even have) e.t.c so dont be surprised that c300 will still outshine the honda 3.5L engine.

You forgot one thing, the reason accord is slower is just weight. Accord is heavier. Weight is more drag.

That is the reason the Honda Coupe is faster with 5.7secs

If u have had a wide variety of driving experience (German,American, French, Japanese, Korean) u will see the clear difference. The V6 Honda accord is nothing compared to a Nissan V6, or a Toyota V6 not to talk of its German or American counterparts.

Let me help u score a cheap point- Honda makes hybrid engines and that makes it more Eco friendly but thats an arguement for another time.

You do not know Honda is one of the best engine manufacturers. They're also the biggest engine makers. Heck they even do jetplanes.
Don't that given Honda engine vs German engines of similar displacement in normal everyday passenger cars, the Honda's are more efficient and powerful and lighter and more durable ?
If Germans or Toyota tunes their passenger cars engines like Honda's the word 'reliability' will be erased from the dictionary.

To all of you shouting Honda, do u know that by 2010 Mercedes made a new m272 3.5liter engine with 292hp? These are called blueefficiency engines, with charged gasoline injection. These are faster than ur regular 3.5 litre m272 engines with 268hp. Just be careful as to which Mercedes you try on racing, I personally own a 2011 E350 blueefficiency with 292hp. In 2012 they made the m276 engine with 302hp (the one with black engine cover). So just be careful as to which Mercedes you raced or trying to race, those blueefficiency models are sleepers, only a few have the blueefficiency badge on them (usually from 2011 most of them do). Word of advice. Someone up there mentioned vcm as one of the reasons a Honda might be faster than these Mercedes cars, vcm that is used to save fuel again?? Correct me if I'm wrong because I didn't really read ur post . The Honda's that have 272hp can they put the power down being front wheel drives like Mercedes 4matic does?? Don't come and argue front wheel drive is better than four wheel drive please even the earth dreams engine can't compare. Call more worthy cars like the Lexus is350, Infiniti m and g class but not ur economical Honda.

C230, c240, c280, c320, e320 were all produced within 2001-2007 So compare them to the honda's within those years. Still, the honda's are no match and those Benz models will still give the 2008-2012 Honda's a run for their money, a w203 2006/07 c350 will even be faster and not many people know there was a w203 c350. If you are in Nigeria, most of the Honda cars are i4 while all the mentioned Benz models have v6 engines as standard, you know where I'm going
