Hello everyone,
I’m new here and please I will like to ask how to go about my online route since I’m currently outside Nigeria ( I live in Ankara,Turkey). I will like to ask about the biometrics and medicals; does this mean I have to come back to Nigeria and do it. My travel history includes Russia and a legal RP of Turkey.

Replies are highly welcomed pleaseeeeeee

Hi Linsigne,
I will not be giving a direct yes or a no to you question, instead, i will write out a scenario, you can then be the judge.

You can work 20 hours per week while school is in session; lets say 34 weeks, assuming you get a job that pays $12/hr (minimum wage varies per province and your take home depends on the job you get; this is just an assumption) = $8160

You can work full time (40 hours per week) during summer break; if you are not registered in school; lets say 18 weeks = $8640

Total cash = $16800

Sounds impressive right.

But here are things to consider:

-You can look forward to having that much if you get a job almost at the same time as your arrival which in most cases it is not always the situation (what happens if you ended up getting a job some months after you got in)

-You should have it at the back of your mind that not all jobs guarantee 20 hours per week; so what happens if you can't get one and it is difficult to joggle between two jobs?

-Don't forget you will pay tax out from your bi weekly (every two weeks) pay; although it is still regulated for low income earners

- If you are considering spending part of your earning for your rent and upkeep as well, then consider this analogy. If you are living in a $400 per month flat share (that's $4800/year) and upkeep of about $4000/year (feeding, travels, clothing, e.t.c); that takes about $9000 off the total earning.

So consider the if's and if not's; ask more question from people living in the province or locality of where you are going, read more online about it and i think it will help make an informed decision.

All the best

Linsigne:
After paying for your first year. Who can advice about working and studying to save money to pay for your tution fee maybe its worth 7500čad or 6500ćad. How possible is it

This was very deep and expository like Bukella, Linsigne and i wanted. Well-done sir

If you have a status in Turkey other than visiting, then you should apply from Turkey. By this I mean if you have a student status or a resident status. It'll be to your advantage because Turkey should have a faster processing time than Nigeria. Your biometrics and medicals will be done in Turkey. But if you are on a visiting visa to Turkey, you'll have to come back to Nigeria to apply

If your dad company is in operation then he must have been paying tax at federal level....asked him there must be a consultant he his working with.....or he his doing it by himself.......if a consultant is filing for him you would know....and when the consultant is submitting his audited financial statements or unaudited financial statement or statement of affairs to revelant authorised such as firs....3 copies will be printed....to firs....they will give him his own stamp copy...remaining 2copis with them..the other copy will be forwarded to CAC ..

Well CAC has started closing business names that are not remitting annual due or doing filing.....all do notices are giving before any action are taken......I work with an Auditing firm ....tax department to be precise. ....I know a little but I don't know all....

Even that one thousand for annual filing is for the first year of registration of business and continue every year before July 1st after July 1st if you didn't pay the one thousand nairaland it is assumed you made late payment and it will increased to 3500 for the year you didn't pay the 1000...

Oga wealth360 I greet oooo

I just checked one of the places i worked previously and its not on the CAC website. And I listed it as part of my employment history. Is that a problem?
You guys should stop bothering yourself about nothing. Different VO with different ways of tackling application is the cause of all this. The way VO A will handle application X is different from the way VO B will handle application Y. Everyone application has different case. Please my people don't get too bothered about this CAC stuff cos it won't apply to all application.

You do not need to make upfront payment for MUN MBA. You are expected to pay when you resume.
There is a minimum expense form at their website detailing fees to be paid and when, you can decide to pay in 6 or 9 installments.
Your GPA should be ok.
MUN offers no entry awards, but UNB offers 10,000 CAD based on your GMAT score (>=660)

Yes have accepted the MUN admission, just applied for my study permit.

odimbannamdi:

Did you honour the admission?
How did you make payments? Per semester?
I will research on the UNB.

I made the best grades in my final year. I think i made over 4.0. I pray they consider it.

I definitely will prepare soo hard for the GMAT. I intended taking the ITIL certification course, but now i will divert my resources and energy to the GMAT exam.

But, i am just wondering, are scholarships/fundings awarded based on stellar GMAT score? If yes, what score range would be categorized as such? Also, would a school like MUN award fundings based on that?

Thanks for your contribution and i look forward to your further answers

Not quite correct. I had a 2.2 GPA (3.25) Of the four schools i applied to for my MBA program 2 offered me immediate admission, UManitoba, that initially denied me based on my GPA, reconsidered and gave me admission after i pointed out that my last 2 years GPA met their requirements. So yes they may require 2:1, but the focus is the last 2 years grades.

Lemia:

Bro the conversion isn't exactly done like that.

These schools have what they call international degree equivalency. you'll have to check the particular degree requirements for students from Nigeria before can be sure what is required.

From my research, all the Canadian schools I've seen require minimum of a 2:1.

Guys not being desperate, but what’s making my application take this long? Even after I’ve passed My medicals on the 20th, I applied since 28th February .

I had the notion that approvals comes fast once you pass the medicals.

I was called to do medicals btw

This is really encouraging. I never knew one can object against admission refusal and plead his case. I am very hopeful now.

Are u also into construction
Yes I did all of that courses and dey are all there on my transcript....
I intend putting up a strong sop...and many thanks for d idea I will make a point out of my similar courses
Ope100:
Hi Bldr Kemdy

Have you obtained admission for a Bsc in Civil Engr in a Canadian institution?

If you have, IMO your major concern should be how you plan to convince the V.O that A bsc in civil is what you need at this point in your life, and not by chance. During you OND did you take civil courses like Strength of material, structural analysis, structural design, foundation engineering, mechanics of materials, and the likes? Or are you exposed to interpreting Reinforcement bar blueprints to artisans, bending schedules, casting of reinforced concrete etc

If you are and you can proof this and more with any form of documentations you may stand a good chance in convincing the V.O of your intentions to study a B.sc civil.

About whether you should declare you enrollment in your HND or not. IMO, if you declare it, what's to stop you from also abandoning the civil engr. Program your going for.? You need to think like the V.O

All the very best

Thank you very much bro....I will do just exact..I appreciate

Bro don't shoot yourself on the leg, I have told you how to go about this before. Forget about the HND and stick to the internship programme, let the company also write a letter that you are an intern with them and you don't get paid for it(it is not all jobs that people get paid for as there voluntary jobs even in Canada).
The decision at the end of the day is still yours to make, but I have done what a concern fellow should do. Best of luck

Pick a bus going to Ikoyi and drop at Ikate. Trek in. Cost 100

From Ajah, take a bus to Lekki, tell the conductor you are going to Ikate, drop at Ikate, walk to Manor house, that's the VFS office.
