Ongoing checks, meaning you can still be turned down.... Have you tried using the status check tool to see what it says? It may have been ISSUED and you are just only having a communication gap between you and the CGI/DHL crew!

I have no reason to lie, all the things I filled can be readily verifiable as I took documents for everything I filled in the form, I guess I just to wait it out.

This indeed is Nigeria... where “privilege” is defined, not by the fruits of your own hard work, but by your political position which gives you access to stealing public funds.

I beg to disagree sir, indirectly accusing someone of stealing public funds isn’t proper, besides you don’t know the story or history of the person involved. The dad of my friend is highly respected in my state and the nation, for someone who rejected a #1billion naira bribe to rig an election in favour of a defeated incumbent governor, he has done well. Just cause he has a cousin was a governor doesn’t mean he hasn’t worked his ass off to attain the “privilege”his son is currently enjoying.

Mind you, my parents worked for federal and state government and retired meritoriously and reached the pinnacle of their careers without stealing as little as a pin from government coffers( my dad worked in Nigerian Ports Authority Container Terminal), had access to amass wealth by letting in substandard products in from importers by accepting bribes, but he didn’t, so are you gonna say that he hasn’t worked hard?

The thread is serving its purpose... in fact, no one else has responded to that post at all... all day, not even you... hypocrite much. grin

Here is the problem, your concern isn't really the thread, or the person who asked the question, you're simply quite petty, obviously still smarting from being called out previously by me. That's your issue... if not, there are several posts (an example is glaring on page 250) where other posters have urged people to either use google search, go on institution websites or read the prior pages of this forum rather than seeking to be spoon-fed… but oddly enough, you only take issue when I make that comment.

I also urge you to let the thread serve its purpose, let those who have answers respond! Let those who point folks to the source of info also respond too... if you don't like it, there is a private blog available for your use.

This thread wasn't created to aid indolence. Some basic questions should NOT be asked.
If one cannot refer to the website and garner basic information on procedure then the person is indolent and should be reminded that he can do for himself what he wants done for him

Hello
I wanted to ask if the US embassy collects the database of passport office to know people who apply for a passport. Do they have any knowledge on that? Say you had a passport you never used but it got misplaced, will they no even if you don't disclose it?
Waiting for an answer
Thank you

Your passport data is with NIS and even if you lost any passport, NIS will indicate the old passport number on your new passport so if U.S embassy asked if you've lost or your passport was stolen and you failed to indicate it as stolen/lost while filling the form meanwhile you're not in possession of any expired passport during the interview they may end up refusing you the visa.
In short U.S embassy does not issue Nigerians international passport but they have harmless question in place to know who is hiding something.

Thank you for the reply
I'm actually ghanaian and I'm aware the us embassy does not issue passport
But I just wanted to know if they had direct contact with the passport office to know who and who came in to apply for a passport
Truthful my interview is in 12 days and on my ds160 I ticked no to my passport being missing because on one forum I did inquiries on stated that they refuse people with stolen passports. In my case it was never even used that's why I'm asking

You should state the truth no matter what and get a Police Report/Court Affidavit to that effect..... U.S visa is not life or death for non-immigrant applicant.

You can't separate it on your own.... Call the CGI help desk (see page 0 of this thread I think for the number search) and request of them to kindly help you do the separation from their end (arm yourself with an email address for her and details of her passport). Or use the PROVIDE FEEDBACK button on your profile to make the request, either way works! Regards

Thank you Omobendel for your response, it was very helpful and the separation has been made.

However, I have a question and its surprising to me. my mother traveled last two years and while she was there, my brother, a citizen filed for her and because the young man was too busy, he couldn't get all the necessary document that was needed and because of that, her application was not approved and of course because of the filing too, she stayed over six months although with the approval of the home security.

Now that her visa is expired and I try to renew her visa, they are asking her to come for interview. I actually tot that because of her age (72 years) and the approval of extension during the filing, that she will use the Dropbox.

Pls is this normal or is there something am not doing well in the cause of the filling. I have answered the questions correctly as I book for appointment but they are asking me to chose a date and time. Do they require you to chose date and time if its Dropbox?

Thank you

Well I agree with you, but when that response is from a person who won't stopped dissing, bullying and forcing his assummed righteousness on people then I won't see it as not 'aiding indolence'
Keep up the good work lady G, I always look forward to reading from you, Seyewest,Congo, Omobendel and others who contribute objectively to this thread.
