Its quite unfortunate to see some disheartening comments here. We should all unite together and strive for a better health care system. Our health care system is totally poor starting from workers remunerations to facilities. Workers salary across all sectors is too low, Let everybody come out together and unite with one voice. Negative comments won’t help anybody, the increase in JOHESU salary won’t affect that of the Doctors. Moreover, JOHESU never asked for the same salary as that of the doctors, why so much hate within us. We Health care workers are to show love and care to our clients and patients, yet we have so much hate within us. If the other health workers are that less important why are they being FORCED back to work??
Y have all the public health facilities almost totally grounded, that it leaves the minister for health with no other option than to re- recruit new staff of same insignificant health workers??
When d worst comes to d worst at least the house officers can do the cleaners job!!

When an allied health worker says "remove surgery from medical practice and doctors are useless ", It reveals the level of ignorance of most health workers (and general public). If I ask you if you can manage hypertension and diabetes successfully now, I'm sure you'll say you can do it better than a cardiologist and an endocrinologist respectively. I'm sure you can manage a stroke patient better than a neurologist. I'm sure you can manage a patient with malabsorption syndromes better than a gastroenterologist. I'm sure you can manage a patient with nephrotic syndrome better than any nephrologists in Nigeria. All these are not surgeries and the list goes on. slowpoke, I don't know why it's a big deal for doctors to lead the health team.

Lmao! The most 'safety ignorant' set of health workers I've ever seen are the physicians. You see them wearing their ward coats in hospital restaurants and even outside the hospital environment spreading nosocomial infections all over the place thinking they are impressing ignorant Nigerians.

The Agreement at National Industrial Court are as follows:
1. Court takes over the negotiations between
JOHESU & Govt in its Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Centre.
2. JOHESU & Govt side are to nominate their representatives in the ADR process within 24 hours.
3. The agreement reached at the ADR Centre will be registered in the Court as judgment binding on both parties.
4. JOHESU is to initiate the process of allowing normalcy to return to hospitals within 3 days.
Appeal from us: JOHESU is still consulting to take a decision which will be communicated to members accordingly. All social media & newspaper propaganda must be ignored until you hear from your representatives.

How did you come to the conclusion that all doctors in Nigeria are employed by government hospitals?
Is there anywhere government employ everybody?
If ordinary medical quacks make it through hospital practice, what makes you think doctors can do better?

Finally, a communique has been released from the JOHESU ogas. Striking workers to resume work tomorrow..

Plus the 'no work no pay policy' is in effect meaning nobody will be paid one and the half months salary. This is not the first time this policy will be in use - the first being when resident doctors went on strike last year.

I'm happy the poor Nigerian will be able to get affordable health services in the teaching hospitals now. No more preferential service.
