Thank you Omobendel for your response, it was very helpful and the separation has been made.

However, I have a question and its surprising to me. my mother traveled last two years and while she was there, my brother, a citizen filed for her and because the young man was too busy, he couldn't get all the necessary document that was needed and because of that, her application was not approved and of course because of the filing too, she stayed over six months although with the approval of the home security.

Now that her visa is expired and I try to renew her visa, they are asking her to come for interview. I actually tot that because of her age (72 years) and the approval of extension during the filing, that she will use the Dropbox.

Pls is this normal or is there something am not doing well in the cause of the filling. I have answered the questions correctly as I book for appointment but they are asking me to chose a date and time. Do they require you to chose date and time if its Dropbox?

Thank you

80 years plus would have done the magic. She doesn't qualify for dropbox even though her over 6 months stay was with approval from DHS.... The extension is the reason she can't escape attending an interview with them! I hope she gets to move pass the hurdle in front of her sha - both the extension and failed filing. Regards

Is she educated/enlightened, can she handle her interview herself? Last last, filing for her properly will be of help sha, just in case....

I will quote you because you won't stop being harsh ,attacking people as if nairaland na your papa land, you are the hypocrite here (I have not dished one abusive word since I started quoting you but since you started it I will follow suit) , you have achieved alot with your hypocritical mind and it has given so much false confidence, you are a privileged slowpoke! . I don't see you respond to people's quest here all you do is diss and forcibly rob your opinion on people.

You hide behind that useless moniker to call people names (lair, thieves e'tal) I will ask you again ,how do you feel when you look in the mirror? hope you feel totally righteous and firmly upright as you parade yourself to be here!

At least you’ve been honest enough to clearly indicate your problem was simply about being petty.

The issue isn’t my “forced righteousness”, it is about a people who’ve been mollycoddled into thinking that occasional recourse to dishonesty is the same thing as being smart. The foreign countries you all want to rush to are what they are today because of the “false righteousness” you hyper religious hypocrites love to pooh Pooh... good luck. The sad part is the rest of us are forced to endure humiliating visa interviews thanks to your own unscrupulous nature and penchant for dubiousness when the truth would have been much easier. You sit on your vaunted throne, inveighing piteously about filters... While engaging in fraud (in the name of Ijebu)... nauseating.

I don’t call names, I simply call things as they are... if you lie on a visa application, as you did - you are a liar. It’s just that simple. No one has bullied you (use a dictionary), you’re only upset because someone dared to show you up. I understand, for too long you’ve lied to yourselves that you’re all morally righteous folks with streaks of “ijebu”...

If you’ve ever had to endure indignity at foreign airports over your green passport, you won’t have joy too. Ask yourself, why do we have entire forum sections dedicated to obtaining foreign visas but the Swiss do not?

I read a story about Chimamanda Adichie’s poor treatment at the hands of a US airline a few months ago. She was angry at the airline... I thought her anger was misplaced, she only has to take a trip home (or read the nairaland travel section) and see why the airlines are justified taking such extreme measures when it comes to holders of a Nigerian passport. Shame on us.

is she still a minor at 16? if yes, they would allow you to enter with her but otherwise, she goes alone if you both are not applying to together.

just find out what is max for minor

Good afternoon,
A friend applied for visiting Visa for USA in December 2017, He was denied . But yesterday he was sent a mail from no-reply@ustravelsdocs.com quoting his name and passport no that "your document(s) have been collected from US embassy / consulate. The passport number been returned is ....... You have chosen to have your documents delivered to the following address; " The passport no was also tracked with DHL and was showing that it is available for collection at the designated place. The question now is this,
could this be a mistake or what ? his passport was never taken on the day he had the interview and was never requested to bring the passport . i wish to be enlightened on what is happening . Thanks

Just got US B1/B2 visa approval. The white woman on window 9 or 10 (not sure which) didn't even ask anything related to money for those that think you need millions in your account to present before them.Something that can take of the trip is ok.You can save towards it.

I actually got the Visa in 2015 which expired in 2017 without using it. I applied via dropbox but was advised to schedule another interview.
I saw a number of families and individuals that were denied.

VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning ma'am
VO: What are you going to the US for?
Me: On a family vacation with my wife and daughter
VO: Do your family have visas?
Me: Yes, my wife does but my I'll be applying for my daughter after now
VO: How long have you been married?
Me: November will make it 3 years.
VO: What do you do for a living?
Me: I am a Technical Project Manager.
VO: What does your job entails?
Me: I lead a Project Management Team of Engineers to execute engineering and construction projects for companies.
VO: OK
VO: When last did you travel to the US? You have not travelled within the last two years?
Me: No but I wanted to travel last year but my wife got pregnant, so i had to cancel the trip.
VO: OK.
VO: You have a relative in the US?
Me: Yes I do.
VO: I will approve your visa which you'll pick up from .........and you 'll get a text message when it's ready. Have a great day.
Me: Thank you.

The truth is most of the times i have travelled to the US and UK, I truthfully answer all the questions before me honestly but wittingly. On the two occasions I applied for US Visa in Nigeria, they didn't ask for anything related to money and I got them on both occasions.

I will travel with my family and still return to my dearly beloved country within a week whether there is war here or not.As tensed as nigeria is, other citizens still come over to even work. The only perfect place in existence is heaven.

I wish you the best of luck.

Worry less.... You will be fine, as long as your application was legit. Patience is all that is required, you are permitted to mount pressure after 60 days after your interview, but hopefully this is over and done with way before then. Best of fortunes!

Good luck with the US and other countries continuing to tighten visa requirements. Very soon they will require you to provide your ancestors as proof before you can apply for a visa. "Nobody holy"... in a nation where you can find 10 churches within a mile of each other... joke of the century.

Hello guys in the house, I appreciate your efforts here. I kindly need ur helps as quick as possible.

I was called by my branch director yesterday saying I will be assisting one of our senior directors to the usa by September, he said the company will be paying for the whole trip, He also said money will be forwarded into my account to pay for my visa form and i should check if there are open windows for interviews before September. I went home to research about traveling to the usa cos have neva been to the US. I realised i needed a fat Statement of account so i told my director today and he said thats not an issue because the company will issue me a letter that i will take to the embassy which will state that all my journey expenses will be taken care of by the company.

Have been thinking, if i knew this journey will come up, i would have been building up my account because i dont know.if the letter the company will give me will be able to cover statement of account

so my questions guys.
1) How do i check if there is an open window for interview before September as i am new to this thing and everything seem to be in a rush

2) Will the letter my company will be issuing to me be enough to stand in place of the company's statement of account

Shouldn't your company be taking care of travel logistics? Weird because that is the way it happens in most other countries.

That being said, how fat your bank account is does not really matter. What matters are your ties to your home country. I would say if you have a genuine letter from your company stating your role, purpose of the trip and confirmation that they will bear all expenses for your trip, that should be a plus for you.

Also, do you know what you will be doing with your senior director in the US? Are you both attending a training, conference, visiting another company or your company's US affiliate etc.? Can you get a letter stating this purpose (with your name clearly stated) from that US group/company/affiliate?

Anything that clearly indicates you have a connection in Nigeria that you do not intend to abandon is what you need. Good luck.

You don’t need a fat statement of account for USA or any European country . All they need to see is a history of inflows (steady) in your account to gauge your financial well-being which enables them access the possibility that an applicant will abscond based on his/her economic situation back here at home . And fortunately US visa officers hardly ask for a document when assessing a B1/B2 visa application. I’ve applied for schengen visa (France ) with 240k in account balance and it was issued .

I’ll advise you apply and secure a date in abuja or lagos and complete the form honestly.

Oh yes I have been emailed a detailed explanation of what the trip is about, It is a business meeting between our organization and a US company we are affiliated to.
I will also be getting an invite letter from the company abroad likewise my organization here in Nigeria will be giving me a letter stating the purpose of the trip and that all journey expenses will be covered by the company.

My statement of account has an inflow of cash but as soon as money comes in, i withdraw it the next day because of a personal project have been on, leaving me with a very low account balance; this is so much a worry for me
