Frankrobbn1:

Kishkosh,

You won't be able to see the result of your upfront medicals until you apply for visa. An E-medical slip will be issued to you by the hospital where you completed the medicals, of which you're expected to include this slip with your application. The Visa officer will then use the UMI number that is located at the beneath of the medical slip to track the medical result and upload it on your CIC account whenever you have submitted your application.

God bless you for the swift and detailed response sir

Thanks for the response.
Frankrobbn1:

chisiudeh,

Address your SOP to the deputy high commission of Canada. There is no need putting your address.

Bosses, in a situation where the profs aren't taking master's student in the field I want to study, what do I do?
And the school (Dalhousie University ) says it's not mandatory to contact supervisors. Do I apply to the same field still or to another

If profs frankly told you they are not taking new students, then you should be looking elsewhere. If you are applying for a research program, your admission is contingent upon availability of a prof willing to take u. Else, u can go for m.eng

Family ties can be tackled with Birth certificates of siblings, marriage certificate of parents and as well write about your family like the love and how you intend to return to your family after your studies. Then purpose of visit can be well tackled with a good SOP by detailing your passion for computer information tech, educate the VO how maths and statistics relates well wit your intended course of study and explain into details the economic benefits of studying computer info tech. What is the economic opportunity you are trying to create and harness?
Please be as specific as possible.

What is your current job role and how does it relate with your course of study and link it with your long term goal. Why study leave for a 2-years program?? Hope your affidavit of return won't deter you from applying for PGWP after your PGD?

2page SOP (was vetted it by a trusted guru) this is totally wrong and won't make someone else be willing to go through SOP, take full responsibility of the outcome of your application.

All the best in your next application and ensure you request for GCMS note.

Thank you for the tips. Please note that my comment about who vetted my SOP wasn’t to bring anyone down. I was only trying to let the house know that I didn’t just write up anything on my SOP or that I did have it reviewed by someone in the house.

Concerning the docs to submit I did include birth certificate of siblings. I will definitely include parents marriage cert in my next application and also remember to mention the other points you mentioned. Thanks

Sorry bro. Financially you are covered but you are yet to convince the VO that you will leave Canada at the end of your program with proofs. This can be done by writing a dynamite SOP (@TheSoj), link your undergraduate studies, employment, and your long term-goals with your intended course of study at University of Windsor.
Please, order for your GCMS to know the actual reason you were rejected. It will end in praise.

Hello house, thumbs to everyone here you guys are doing a great job helping others.
I really need your help here. .
I got an admission to study physics, University of Winnipeg I applied for my study permit earlier this year around March but I was refused. It was stated in the refusal letter that
* I am not satisfied you will leave Canada based on your travel history
* I am not satisfied you will leave based on yur family ties in Canada and country of residence.

Documents I submitted
Birth certificate
Sponsorship letter from my mom
Employment verification from where I work
Leave approval letter
My mother's work ID and promotion letter
Property valuation doc of about 10m
Name and DOB correction in newspaper
Waec result
Admission and standardised letter from school
Testimonial
Passport
Copy of my work ID
Personal bank statement with 300K
Diploma in Printing technology certificate
Sponsors bank statement with 20M
SOP..... ( here I stated that I have 2-3 years In Printing and I work as a computer operator/graphics designer.... and I'm leaving this field to study physics in Canada because this will help me solve some problems facing my community and create employment for other youths.)

So I went for my GCMS notes, and it stated this in the 36th page of the gcms notes.

*After careful review of the application and supporting documents provided, program of study in Canada does not appear to be consistent with previous level of study and employment history. Applicant appears to have limited relevant/recent travels which could demonstrate a history of having travelled and returned. Based on the evidence provided, I am not satisfied applicant is a genuine student who intends to complete the course of study in Canada and would depart at the end of the authorised stay....

Hi dear, sorry about your delay...
The main issue is your purpose of visit. This application would have flew if u had put in a course in line with ur recent ecperience. That's where the issue began. Why not pick a course related to ur recent work or educational history?
Did u submit birth certificate of ur parents, marriage cert, birth certificate of siblings?
How convincing and explanatory was ur SOP?
Travel history will be tacked if these other issues are addressed.

All the best.

I could be wrong but i think being unemployed and volunteering at the moment might be a flag because the VO can see it as something not too tangible as a reason to come back to Nigeria.
I think this has been said on this forum in previous threads; Aged parents, spouses, children can be regarded and easily recognised as family ties but once you are over 18 years of age, using siblings as family ties does not ' have that much weight'. If you have younger ones, far below 18 years of age, you can talk abit about your responsibilities on them, may be that might fly too. But if all your siblings are all of independent age, siblings love has little effect (either with NPC birth certificate/ sworn affidavit of age/ church issued certificate)
If we want to be sincere, irrespective of the love amongst siblings, everyone is responsible for themselves.

As advised, get your GCMS note and i hope being unemployed and volunteering at the moment wont be part of the VO's discussion.

I wish you all the best.

As highlighted in your GCMS note and rightly pointed out by JoseJonn, get you a course related to your previous diploma degree and work experience. Physics just does not seem in line with your history

Hi guys,

I am a newbie here and I have tried to read this thread back quite a bit. I appologize in advance if my question sound redundant. I am applying for a study permit, to begin PhD in September. I submitted my application last thursday and I did biometrics this last Wednesday. I have already submitted the application online before I jammed this thread.
I answered the questionaire provided and it give me a personalised checklist consisting of only 5 supporting documents viz; admission letter, proof of finance, family members, passport photo, and int. Passport. I was waived of medicals becausr i was resident in the US until the end of April.
Having gone through this thread now is why I became concerned that perhaps i could have added more documents. Although on the app. form I was quite detailed about my travel and work details; i have done studies and research in Germany, USA, Philippines and Austria. I never did anything in Nigeria as I left four years ago after nysc. In addition for the proof of finance i submitted the offer my future advisor sent which show that i will get an annual sum of 30K CAD. Please guys what do you think of my application particularly as i didnt show any work tie or submitted an SOP?

Normally you will have to book an appointment, but you might be lucky to get it done same day. I did mine on Monday without having any appointment before, got there around 12pm and was at VFS till 7pm. Just hope for the best.
