Nonsense, how is the woman suppose to protect herself, there is a likelihood that the woman can also be killed through the incessant beatings. The pictures shows that the man is young and physically stronger than the woman.
The Man should have stopped the beatings after seeing the woman in possession of a knife. This woman can claim self defense based on provocation. There are many legal cases that have set a precedent for such self defense cases, R v Ahluwalia and R v Humphreys 1995.
