Dont know why musa didnt pass to iheanacho but rather went for idowu at the far end, the coach should decide our starting formation.

if he doesn't improve on stopping grounders, come world cup, he will most likely do you and others proud and while Nigeria loose.
he stopped some grounders before that Kane one entered, he even got the ball, but it still went past.

Like I said, go and preach to Enyeama. Save 30, let in 3, we lose, but you are lot are focused on the 30 he saved every time......but it is Uzoho, so let us forget the 10 saves and focus on one

OGa this is football. If you cant hold your goalkeeper accountable for letting in a cheap goal under his arm, then we might as well give everyone on the team a free pass including Onazi.
Why do you think the goalkeeping spot is the most sensitive in the team hence, the call for an experienced head to "man" the post. A goalkeeper can make 20 good saves but one error can undo the good he did all game, especially if it costs his team vital points.

You can't blame the goal keeper for every goal. Do you know how wide that post is? Factor that when you criticise him, Hve you ever played football in a standard football field?

Where was Kane when he took that shot...Distance? acceleration and speed of ball, Goal keeper's reaction...Uzoho actually reacted well. If Kane was about 3 metres away befoe he took that, Uzoho might have stopped it. What were his defenders doing? How did Kane get into that position to pull the trigger?

How many times did Nigeria get into such position against England? How many times did Nigeria hit target?

Blame the team not the keeper.

What type of report would our opponents take home from this match? That they should come at us from the blast of the whistle..hehe...if ever Ogu and Ndidi starts...that report will be torn to shreds

So does it mean we cannot switch formation in the course of first half? So we have to wait until we are four goals down then we change? I do not like this idea of Rohr ooo....as the game changes, change formation too...players can be substituted in the first half...o gini ne eme?

Savvy?

Bros, calm down. Uzoho impressed me today actually. Frankly, I wouldn't blame him for any of the goals. The second goal was a bullet shot from a top striker, not many keepers can keep that out. Personally, Uzoho wouldn't be my preferred keeper if we have lots of options, but right now he's the best man for the job.

O pari

why is it that the bar is usually lowered when certain players are mentioned? I say this because you were resolute in criticizing Femi Thomas in the Atheletico game but here you are lowering the standard for Uzoho.
I never said he had a bad game but errors like the second goal have proved to be the difference in the final result.

People are just shouting Onazi no good.. Joel no good like say na only dem go play ball.

The problem was Shehu could not deal with the pacy English forwards and Iwobi didn’t help to defend.

This is because Mikel lost the ball on many occasions and whenever he does that, he added more pressure to the midfield because the wingers which were also part of the midfield had already rushed forward to receive passes when he lost the ball.

This exposed the wing backs and brought confusing to the midfield because when the English won the ball they spread the balls immediately to the wings which stretched our two man midfield.

Remember, Iwobi and Victor are still trying to recover their positions and Mikel is slow to recover too when they began the transition.

These two players played the DMF role and all they need to do was protect back line and find Mikel or the wingers as soon as they get the ball but unfortunately Mikel loosed the ball several times.

Mikel was the biggest culprit in the midfield. He unstabled the team.

Anyway, Shehu has been exposed as a weakling.

Iwobi best position is the AMF but no substitute
.
Ebuehi and Brian are better as wing backs.

Ogu can play in a 3 mans defence but somehow we were still exposed from his wing.

Etebo na NEPA. Off and on. Today was his on day

Ahmed has pace but nobody to support him.

We don't have many forward options.

Anyway, with what I see, we go win Iceland. Croatia can be won too but we must play 3-5-2 formation.

I repeat Onazi and em brother joel should be dropped they offered nothing , and rohr shouldnt try playing ogu in the left side of three man defence again, it worked today doesnt mean it will work tomorrow, ogu is not a defender he is not that fast.

Ogu , ndidi and mikel is the perfect midfield combo, if rohr dont see this am sorry he is fool then. Iwobi is better in midfield than wings. when playing 3-5-2 iheanacho n iwobi shld play together just like against argies.

But when playing 4-3-3 vic mosses- simy/igalo - musa should play preferable simy so he can connect with the crosses cos ighalo was useless with the crosses sent to him today, though most were wayward.

onazi n joel shld go abeg.
As much as I hate to admit it. Joel has been poor. He is not the same Joel I watch play for Torino. I won't be suprised if he is dropped.

Nope what you guys want is not to be objective. Your mind is that the team is average and therefore no one should have Faith in them. Bros even if this team were to play Brazil I will not go to watch the match believing Brazil will beat us. Lie lie. And its not that I'm blind. But that credit of believe I will give this team freely and abundantly. What do I have to lose. 94 we were burned, 98 we were trounced, 2002 we snoozed out, 2010 we failed, 2014 was the same old story. What are we afraid of again?

Una go stand for darkness dey cry average, average like adult wey wan terrify small pikin with ojuju. Abeg carry your objectivity comot for here go front page.

Look like we are on different levels. Really don't have energy for arguments - especially stupid ones.

And you guys are not more passionate about SE than some of us. Even before this thread, when Nigerian national team football discussions were a hard sell on Nairaland, some of us were lone voices in the talk about and passion for national team.

We know the post-2013 AFCON latter day fans on Nairaland that think they have the monopoly of support for SE.

Kane’s effort on goal came after some neat build-up play from Raheem Sterling.
But even that doesn’t excuse some painfully bad goalkeeping, as the ball ricocheted of uzoho and into the net, after he miserably mistimed his dive...

What made you think you could stand up to him if you met him? Calm down mister. The only way to shut people up is to prove them wrong. If someone tells you you aint good enough, show him that you are not just good enough but better. Nigeria has not shown that they are ready to do well in Russia.

Only one man has the passion tonight and that is Iwobi. Others were on their back feet.
See let me tell, by my profession one is trained to be objective. There is a big difference criticism and pessimism. The team is not made of angels. There's no fault in this team that has not been trashed on this thread. But you guys waltz in and start pouring acid into our minds all in the name of criticism.
Take yourself for instance. Your comments today were fruitful- Criticism tempered with great insights on how to improve.

What is killing our coach is not this so called average team bullshyte some trogs are crying up and down here. The coach is damn too conservative. He only tries new things when the situation is gone awry. He did it against Argentina, he was saved. Today again same thing.

That players that played first half were basically chosen in accordance with the-you never - change - a - winning-team mantra. Winning team bawo?. I say the times have changed. This is not the age for mantras. This is not the age for formulas. You have to think and rethink your strategy.

Even with these set of players if the coach is a bit radical we can hurt teams and win games.

Abeg can't you see the shot went thru a defenders leg, you only show up to critize the young man..he was easily one of our best players in that first half...

can't you even see Onazi poor display leading to that goal, it was pure counter attack loosing the ball in a bad area..Uzoho saved our ass a lot in this game..none of the goalies we have currently can do better than he is doing..

I wont blame Uzoho for that second goal. Yes, there will always be learning point for a goal keeper for every goal, but only few keepers in the world would have saved a goal from a Kane that was so balanced to take such shot in box 18. Not even Buffon escaped it.

You keep on harping on the second goal, so, I keep on telling you, such goals are not always saved. Someone even mentioned how Courtois let in more ridiculous goals, but mbanu, let us drop Uzoho because of the second goal
