Great job guys...piggybank.ng has helped me save, I just stumbled on their site on instagram. I recommend this to everyone that's having trouble setting something aside, the interesting part is that their minimum savings isn't up to what we spend on a meal. Even more thrilling is that you don't need to walk to a bank to get it all setup, it's all on your phone pple. 1 Like |

This is no different from a fixed deposit as it doesn't provide liquidity during the savings tenure. Call deposits like mutual funds are still better with higher rates. |

AlanSugar: Not really!! There's a business model here. Your money is put with some asset mgt company and as Piggyback is an institutional investor, they will generate more interest than they need to give to their depositors and make profit. |

Nice concept. The fact that savings can be done in $ is the eye catching feature of this company. I hope they won't place this funds in speculative business like stocks where u can gain or loose(just like my dowjones) .I also dont buy the idea, where the micro finance company can lend, else they are heading for the loo.Better be invested in traditional liquid assets biz like tbills, call and term deposits etc where the worst that can happen to your money is to make small margin at least. With this, the investors money is save.. |

I wanted to do this piggy bank thing yesterday but having read the interview I will not and will not advice anyone to do it again. Reasons being that your money will be invested into other things. The savings thing that was talked about was just a trick. The main thing these people will do is to get funds from different deposits and do business with your money. What if their investments go bad?? I would prefer a situation where your money is just there and nobody is touching it to use for what so ever investment. 4 Likes |

Good initiative. Exactly what I do with GTB. I have disciplined myself to putting money into my account by not touching a dime and I'm in my second month. I can tell you it's quite beneficial and good. Though my plan is to save my funds without touching it for 5-7 years. |

haibe: It's all stories, Mmm had better stories! Did you see the documentation, did they mention the asset management coys for one to run a check on? Bro, leave these igbo dudes and their scam techniques. Imagine their defence that Nigerians have no savings, how then have banks survived through these years? Only time will tell. If that yoruba guy dashed them 1.1usd, it could very well be for publicity stunt, or another pic (partna in crime) 1 Like |
