Probably because they couldn't pick it up from your credit file. The best way to get around that is to apply for provisional licence first. Banks are trying to discourage cash deposit cos of money laundering but you can still pay cash into starling. You have to inform them in advance and they will direct you to a partner bank or post office.

I see. Ok, il keep it in mind. Thanks.

Morning guys. Please for those who migrated with kids, did you immediately apply for NI number for them or nah. We've been surviving without it for the kids and I just want to know if it's an immediate necessity. Thanks.

Not until they are 16 if I remember correctly

Kids get their NI numbers automatically when they turn 16 . I think. It will be sent in the post to them .

Just joined this thread recently and have literally read every page and really found a lot of useful information.

I would like to know if anyone has had to apply for a replacement BRP having the original lost/stolen. Any idea on the time frame for a postal application after submitting biometrics? Is it possible to track the application online and should I be expecting an email or mail? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

There's a paid android app which simulates the exam.
Cost about 4 pounds
Practice with that and you should be fine...Very easy test, compared to the practicals

Thanks for your concern, but obviously i wasn't the one who brought it up, it was Mama triplets and you haven't tagged her, but me and if you want to be helpful tagging me like you said isn't helpful and she's my gf not my wife!....so you see, i wish her well, do you understand?

What is wrong with you? did you manage to watch the video at all? who said you were here illegally? The video was meant to show you how HO gets it wrong most of the time and how to deal with the situation....Is this why you deactivated? Come on... there is nothing wrong with dating an overstayer, true love trumps everything!

That guy and his partner should be suing their ass if possible for their incompetence. They barge in at 5.20am in the morning feeling like gods. They are so rude and arrogant. Especially those pakis among them, and that one with the smirk on his face.. angry

Hey mama, don't be nervous oo, forgot to even post my experience, will do so shortly.

All in all the app is d same as d exam but take care to read questions carefully and options as well
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by fatima04: 12:02pm On Jun 06, 2018
Theory test experience.

I guess i will be part of d small percentage that fails theory on there first attempt sad sad It was sooooo annoying because I had 42/50 and 55 in the hazard part, more annoying because i remembered the 1 question I missed that would have made the difference.

I had to wait 2weeks before i could write again which was frustrating but also gave me the opportunity to change my straregy. I guess practising for so long gave me a false sense of security and that affected my outlook on the first attempt.

Strategy for the second attempt was to wait like 4 days to the test, then started practising again and made sure I patiently assessed all options before choosing answers and aimed at 100%in practise. Then did a crash reading on the highway code to see what I could have missed and surprisingly I gained new information.

While booking I was lucky to get morning session for a date not so far off against the afternoon I used d first time so that I will feel psychologically fresh grin grin

During the test I painstakingly read all questions before answering, flagged some I wasn't sure of, reviewed them individually at the end and also reviewed all the questions all over again just to make sure I did not rush and after all I had plenty minutes.

I did not really practise for the hazard part again because I knew it was my strength. Final test scores proved it all worked because I got 48/50 and 65/75.

Suggestions
1. Read questions and answers carefully to spot the key words
2. Ensure you are over 90% in practise and review the highway code in details
3. The theory 4 in 1 really helps and it's cheaper than the DVSA app and it's got everything one needs to ACE it on first attempt

@mamatukwas I hope this helps you to smash it on your first attempt as well. All the best.

Good day house, I am new to this thread but i obviously need all the help i can get. I have read through all the pages and i know i still have hope. Lol, I am looking at settling in the UK and i have a 2 years valid visa and also Family over there. But my fears are how possible is it to migrate legally considering my visa is for visiting. Do i need a BRP and if yes, how do i go about it? Thank you in anticipation!

Next to impossible. Especially now that the UK GOV has tied the visa to all essentials (bank opening, job application, study, drivers license). Your visiting visa permits you to visit and not to work or study. So no way. If you over stay grin koko for you.

With your visit visa, you may not be able to open a bank account (unless maybe those online ones). You will not be able to apply for a job because everyone will ask to see your work permit. Heck you won’t even be able to get an apartment so you’ll forever live with the family member.

The only way out is to marry a citizen and hope and pray you finally have a way to stay (maybe through the kids and after 10 years). Mean while you still can’t work unless you do underground work which only happens down south.

If them nab you before your miracle husband/wife show, we will be expecting your gist about how the flight was back home. grin

You’re welcome.

If you are not yet married, simply find a REAL britico and marry for love & papers. Not a Britico claiming benefits o, she has a job and fits into the required criteria. And she would also be happy to visit Nigeria to marry you (send us invitation card).....

When you find her, migrate to the next thread.........

Hmmm, thank you for taking out time to explain. But what if I decide to neglect the visiting visa and start afresh as an intending immigrant, what other options are there or do you advice asides marriage?

Possibly claim to be a Windrush baby..... I might have to edit he - she, if you want me to?

Not unless you have £2,000,000 to invest in the UK economy, within 3 months of arrival. Then I would advise investors visa.....

If you are are professional in a field that the UK are desperate for, you might also be in luck....

I honestly don't know any apart from the aforementioned....

Or find a baby falling from a balcony and do like that guy in France, you can also borrow a baby and act it, just that social services might dis-parent the baby

Afterwards, they would ask you to provide your residence status.......
