Blazing99 they don turn your life like amala. Those guys scammed you big time. What they did is that they blocked the dispenser. Once you inserted your debit card to make that transaction the deed was already done. Normally once you make a withdrawal and click proceed, the transaction is almost as good as completed. It only reads "completed" when the dispenser moves up and ejects the cash but since the cash couldn't eject, you got delayed for the 5 min you claim. That money got stuck in the machine and what theyll do is remove the money from the atm going thorough the small building at the back where they are free from CCTV. Its hard to explain but I hope you get what I'm trying to pass to you. Take heart.

Why this should be the case is because the OP lodged a complaint at his bank and once they confirmed he was paid. If reverse was the case such that he was debited but not paid , they would have known too. But they confirmed he was debited and paid so theres something surely fishy somewhere. The fact that the first guy jumped in front of you and persuaded you to use the second machine is suspicious enough.

You were duped by the person that told you to go and use the machine in collaboration with the security man

Go and call GTB out on Twitter. Try to tag CBN. It will be resolved as fast as possible.

I guess the ATM is old, I always avoid all dis out dated machine. I once went to ATM I saw a tip of 1k, i slot my card to withdraw 10k, at d end I forced the 1k plus my 10k out making it 11k, although i had to report that to d customer care n dropped d 1k.

Issues like this happen every once in a while...Try reopening the issue with GTB.

Then ask the security Man/ Bank staff if there's ever been a case of the machine bringing out the requested amount after the customer has left.
Re: Did The ATM In Computer Village Scam Me? by kollinpowel(m): 8:08pm On Jun 07, 2018
From the little I know abt ATM I strongly believe the security man and the guy know more about the the issue,my advice to you is to tell Gtbank to request for the footage of that day and see if truly you got the money. That way u will make head way on retrieving ur money.
Re: Did The ATM In Computer Village Scam Me? by mployer(m): 8:10pm On Jun 07, 2018
Probably the machine dispensed but you didn't see the cash because the machine has been tampered with.

They will pick the cash the moment you leave. It is computer village bro.

Seems the ATM saw the future and has started making it's own contribution as regards to Innosons 12 billion naira.
Accout holders what are you still waiting for?

Re: Did The ATM In Computer Village Scam Me? by Nobody: 8:13pm On Jun 07, 2018
Oga, this is simple..
Just walk into any Gtbank branch..
Fill a charge back form..
It's Gtbank'so duty to log your dispute against Stanbic.
If your claim is legit, you should get a reversal in 7 working days..

I once drove to an ATM stand as early as 5am and met 5k pinned to the retractor.
No security, no other person. I had to take the money with me, make my withdrawal and came back later in the day to return the money.
I was traveling that morning so I couldn't wait to hand it to anyone.
Well, all I got was thank you and a mumu look from the customer attendant.

Bros, I guess you weren't patient enough and your money retracted after you left.

On the 5th of June, 2018. I went to fix my phone in computer village. To pay for the phone parts, I went to the nearest ATM, at Stanbic IBTC Bank in Computer Village.

There were two ATMs, one outside facing the gate and the other by the side of the bank. While queuing on the one facing outside, a guy came to my front. I was about to tell him to join the queue but he told me that he wants N1000 notes and the ATM by the side is paying in N500 notes, that I should try there and it was free. The security man there also told me to try there.

As I was in a haste, I went to the ATM machine by the side, I tried to withdraw N10,000. The machine started taking like 5 minutes to dispense. After a while, it told me "My transaction has been completed". My card was discharged. As I was complaining, the security man told me not to worry, it would be reversed.

I had to borrow money from a friend to pay for the services. Once I got home I made a complaint via GTBank Internet Banking. The next day, I went to a GTBank nearby to make a compliant too. As at this evening, I got a response on my mail

I am now questioning, what the hell happened. The ploy for me to use that ATM seemed 90% like a setup. The ATM machine told me "Transaction completed" but did not pay my money. The security man immediately gave me hope in reversal. Now while trying to get a refund, I am being told that I was actually paid.

I am going to go on pushing GTBank so I can retrieve my money. But in the meanwhile, can someone with a similar experience or some knowledge tell me what is going on. Right here, I am feeling bloody scammed.

IN THE MEANWHILE, DO NOT USE THE STANBI IBTC ATM IN COMPUTER VILLAGE.

dear op, as a formal staff of Gtbank, I will advice you go to your branch and lay the complaint. Tell the CIS officer where the transaction took place. It shouldn't take more than 10 working days for the issue to be rectified. Also go back to the stanbic bank and request for them to play the cctv coverage for you.
Lastly am very sure your unsuccessful transaction would also cause an overage in their terminals, especially when trying to balance their vault. Apply the two methods sir.

Thanks. The ATM machine used was Stanbic IBTC @ Computer Village, Ikeja

I suspect both the security man and the guy that came in front of me suddenly. Funny enough, after I left the ATM at the side and being delayed for like 10 minutes, the guy was gummed to the other ATM. Perhaps to divert people to use the fraudulent one. My question is like, how is it even possible an ATM approves a transaction but you dont get paid?

Lalasticlala Please

I don't think security man can program the ATM machine to do that unless the other guy is working inside the bank.

This is cash dispense error naaa! Go to a GTbank hall and fill out dispute forms and state the location of the ATM and transaction time. It has happened to me several times and it got reversed.
Re: Did The ATM In Computer Village Scam Me? by OloyeBaba1: 8:28pm On Jun 07, 2018
Based on the response from your bank (GTB) I think social media will be the next arbator. Take the issue to their (Stanbic Ibtc) social media page and handles. This can be done by speaking to some popular social media handles. I promise you they will look into it quickly and your money will be reversed.
Sad one

Bros.. If GTB is still proving stubborn.. Take this to Twitter asap. Copy GTbank handle, CBN handle and other gossip platforms.

When your done.. Send a mail to fraud unit at CBN and copy Consumer Protection Council department at CBN. This cannot go unresolved.

Those guys are insane.

The previous day i read a thread about something similar in Zenith bank abuja. This is insecurity and if not resolved.. Get a lawyer. This is arrant Rubbish.

I had similar experience sometimes in November last year. I used my ATM card to withdraw 100k from UBA ATM at CBN hall in Ibadan, I was debited 120k as against 100k. Meanwhile my card card can not withdraw more than 100k in a day. I made same report to zenith Bank, but the response from themis similar to yours above after 3 months. I have since forgotten the money since it’s difficult pressing further. Nigeria. Banks are gradually turning to criminals.

I had similar experience with sterling. I reported it and it took up to 4 days with constant disturbance b4 they reversed it. So I suggest you continue to disturb them till they give it back to you. But if you relent they will sidetract the money. That's Nigerian ATM FOR YOU.
