Well it's still a lot of money

62% of Americans don't have $1k saved against their name

And besides forget the exchange rate, N1m can still buy you a lot of stuff down there in Nigeria, more than that amount could get you in say Switzerland or Germany
you know Americans live on credit

well buying and selling is a very lucrative business that most Nigerians still don't know shiit about...
especially real estate and automobile.
with that 1mil capital you could link with other partners to raise more capital... then locate a Lagos based dealer... get a "roughly used" class-B SUV from him at a very cheap price... spend a little more money to make it look attractive, sound and "fairly used".
Then take it down to south East (especially Nnewi) re-sell it and make a mind blowing profit...
but hey this business requires a lot of homework and inquiries ... otherwise you'll end up losing money due to excess expenses.
unlike other properties, when it comes to real estate, you gonna learn how to be patient after buying.. cos the more you wait the more the value increases the more profit y'all are likely to make.
.

.
need more info just hit me up.

Depending on where you are.

Get a mini-bus, give it out on a higher purchase terms. But make you get a lawyer to prepare the doc and let the driver come with a guarantor.

700k-750k should get it. 50k for registration, 50k for lawyer.

Give it out for 950k-1M in 6 months. Once the driver defaults, the bus return to you and the amount paid so far not refundable.

Turn over twice a year. That should earn you #300-#500k yearly on your #1m.
Re: What Would You Do With One Million Naira? by somehow: 12:55pm On Jun 12, 2018
Option 2:

Get a car and put it on taxify or uber.

You can drive yourself or get a driver to do that. This is not the typical public bus so less stories should arise.

Should earn at least 100k monthly from it.

Option 3:

Go into ecurrency business.

Buy pm, btc, wmz.

Advertise rigorously online. Alot of people buy.

Buy the ecurriences from end users at a cheaper price, then sell with extra#10-#20 per unit.

With like 900k investment and 100k for an information website + adverts (you dont need an office, a phone or laptop is enough, you can earn up to #50-#100k monthly or even more. It depends on your marketing prowess

unique idea my _arse!

brother, what you have is NOT in any way an idea...

what you have is purely an exploitation setup.

it wouldn't have been a problem in any way if only you will agree that your sisters will be part of the plan.

but like most exploiters, you will always want to USE another person/s (blood and sweat) to profit.

if only you were smart enough, you will understand that all those people i mentioned started their businesses by being creative rather than being exploitative

it's quite a pity that you will look at your utterly stupid and lascivious response and call it smart.

it really shows how shallow and shameless you really are.

What he dlaw70 said is already being done and it generates a very huge unbelievable return on investment. He just means starting a brothel. He was just being comical about it. It generates a whole lot of more money than hotels. Besides everyone is unique with different ideas. People that think like him are actually rare. Everybody can not be the same

Do you know you can't work in any of those countries without a permit, which can only most of the times be gotten through difficult means, how much is visa and passport? How much is air ticket?

yeah, i know he's a genius for coming up with an 'idea' which according to you, is already being done!

fine.

now let me tell you this.

selling marijuana is even much more profitable than running a brothel, are you aware of that?

a lot of our youths are already deep in taking that _shit, which means you already have a ready and large market.

besides, it is also very easy to get addicted to taking marijuana which also means a lot of returning customers for you as a dealer...

but if you are a conscientious human being, sometimes you should just ask yourself whether the business you are running thrives on 'uselessing' other people or helping them to grow and become better persons.

it is not always about the money.

i hope you get my point?

When asked what the problem is, an average Nigerian will say money! Money! Money!.

In my opinion, I feel the dearth of ideas is as great a challenge as the lack of money it self. While one person may need a grant of NGN100,000 to kick start a life, another person with 10million naira will still come online asking for ideas on how to invest it. Many a people I have met who 'happened' upon money and all they succeeded in doing was buy cars, buy a plot of land and boom! They went back to being broke.

Unfortunately for me, I find myself in the second category. The only business I know is alternative energy, I wish to diversify and involve myself in other forms of investments. Anything outside online businesses like bitcoin and what have you.

So I ask a simple question, and I believe many Nigerians will benefit from your responses here;

If you are given a million naira for free, what exactly would you invest it on? How long do you expect a turn over, and what risks and challenges would you encounter?

Are you based in Abuja

Nigeria is one of the worst places for a small startup right now. Many factors are against you
1. Low capital
2. High Taxation
3. Lack of infrastructure (power at the top of the list)
4. Stiff government policies
5. unhealthy competition

If I had a million naira, I will relocate to a better country where my future will be safeguarded. It might take a little struggling, but with hard work and dedication, overtime I will build a lasting future protected by good governance.
what country and what will you do there

I believe that comment was meant in terms of starting up a business, I honestly do not know what kind of business one will start with that amount, pure water business? I have tried that not really profitable, transportation, tried that too, too much risk, drivers come back every other day complaining of one big expenditure or another. The OP's question is valid, when people say they don't know what to invest in, what they are really saying is that they don't know what to invest in that has low risk.
exactly.
