Have you guys noticed that teams that lost their first game have not been able to win their second games. Teams that drew their first game are equally following the same route. Save Iran, who won and lost to Spain

Lol... Personal opinion says Ivory Coast. That was their golden generation and what did they win? What did they even achieve on the world stage?

Egypt were the team the world saw at the FIFA Confed cup (Gathering of the champions and best teams across the continents of the world) in 2009. Did Cote D'Ivoroe stand in for Africa in that champion of champions gathering? And Egypt bested Italy and shook Brazil in that competition not so? So what are we talking about? cheesy

Egypt won the Afcon beating Ivory Coast twice along the way in 2006 and in 2008. Egypt conquered Africa three times. How can you be the best in Africa without conquering Africa? cheesy It is just like saying one is the best in class or in school without conquering or topping that class or school. Simple physics. wink

And oohh yes.. Almost everyone here will know Mohamed Abou Treika, Ahmed Hassan and possibly even Amr Zaki who once played in England (EPL). They will also know Essam El Hadary. Some will not know Wael Gomaa but he was among the finest centerbacks on the continent.

ykalhaji:

Chief...
2006-2010 was Ivory Coast ooo. Who rated Egypt For where ?? When Didier Drogba and his terror squad was doing things ? Actually I did not want to intrude on your Rated best arguement but Ghana sef was rated higher than Egypt during the end of that period. Or can you give us the name of 2 people in that Egypt squad of that period that more than 3 people on this thread will recognize without a google search ??

Rated best is different from Champion. A lot of other factors are involved in rating the best. And concerning JAMB and WAEC the most respected is the student with the best JAMB result not just among test takers, but amongst already admitted students in Uni and Nigerians in general(because we all know the level of difficulty). In as much as you get your 5C's (equivalent in AFCON(you get to semi finals)

I actually think qualifying for the worldcup even supercedes the AFCON.

Or what happened to the Zambian team that won in 2012 or would you really in all honesty say Cameroon is better than Africa's 5 representative in this years worldcup.

Eh but neither of Iceland and Nigeria won their first games.

Nigeria can break that trend.

forgiveness:

Rohr likes to confuse his opponents. We saw it during our qualifiers.

Today, he has done it again.

Let me see how they will be positioned.

............................... Uzoho.............

............ Balogun....... Ekong.......... Omeruo.....

..... Moses........ Etebo........ Ndidi......... Idowu....

.............................. Mikel................

............ Musa............................ Iheanacho...

I hope I never leak secret for here?

Anyway, it will be too late Iceland practice against this players and tactics.

I think there was chemistry between Musa and Iheanacho in our last match.

I think will be better Iheanacho and Musa should switch positions because both can curve long balls into the post.

Line up is out. I think it is a decently attacking lineup and we should be able to attack at pace. Optimistic.

This line up of ours look great.. I particularly like the idea of moses playing wingback though I would have preferred left wing back so Ebuehi can play..but its still good...Musa and Iheanacho up front is even juicer... We have a capable game changer in Iwobi on the bench...he can come in d second half for Mikel... overall, its a great formation. its what most fans have been crying for... if we can't get a decent result with the formation, then maybe Rohr isn't the problem but the players...
I'm very confident though...we will soar!

BTW, why do I have this funny feeling that we may not cap Ebuehi before the WC end... The way I see it,it's like Rohr doesn't rate him highly

Mind at rest now.

Confirmed Starting Line-up:

Uzoho; Ekong, Balogun, Omeruo; Moses, Mikel, Ndidi, Etebo, Idowu; Iheanacho, Musa.

I think, this is a much better lineup

Colin Udoh deliberately released a fake line-up to throw people off. He mentioned that Rohr was angry that the line-up was released the last time . Apparently, he did it to throw the opponents off.
What is the formation?
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 3:10pm On Jun 22, 2018
Sorry. Being the best in Africa without a title to show for it is nothing but personal hype and fantasy opinions. Facts show that Africa's best have fine conquest showings on the continent with the bonus addition of having decent or a great WC showing.

You cannot be called Best in the class without having ever topped the class.

I am only repeating myself. I have given you facts... Hard facts to back up what I am saying even in that period of 2006-2010. I think I have exhausted enough time on this topic. I wan move unto my game abeg. No vex. Meanwhile make I drop some titbits. wink

Russia 2018 WC Titbits

Brazil 2-0 Costa Rica.

Neymar's late goal puts him past Romario in sole possession of 3rd all-time on Brazil's top scorers list with 56 goals.

He now only trails Pelé (77) and Ronaldo (62).

Over the last half deacde, I've noticed that anytime I miss the first half of a Nigerian game, the Super Eagles tend to win. So with that in mind, I'll purposely miss the first half of this match. I won't even check online scores.

Good luck to the boys.

Regardless of what happens you'll always have my support.
