AerialMapper:CAN has managed to successfully frame the issue as a religious one and people have embraced the idea My questions are If we all became Christians, would the Fulani herdsmen stop their attacks on those who rustle their cows? If we all became Christians, would the Fulani herdsmen stop their attacks on those who rustle their cows? When Fulani herdsmen are moving, do they ask Muslims to distinguish their farms from Christians' so that they will not invade the former? Have Fulani herdsmen ever invaded a predominantly Muslim community to avenge attack on their cows? by the way, the answer is yes AerialMapper:Deservedly so Even the Owner seems to promote these divisive antics Till today non-muslims abuse Muslims for the oath you have to take before posting in the Islamic section Ironically the idea for that was from Christian moderators and while Muslims opposed it, the owner of Nairaland sided with Christians |

You are right I have lived all my life in Jos Plateau State. The average Plateau Man is a peaceful person I really love Jos Plateau but lets say the truth we all saw this coming when beriom ethnic group started rustling fulani cows. Plateau was peaceful everything moving fine but trouble started when beriom youths started rustling fulani cows and selling we warned them in fact alot of people warned thier leaders to caution the youths to stop because fulani value thier cows more than human lives they will retaliate if they are pushed to the wall with the continues rustling of thier cows. I remember vividly that the then commissioner of police and some Christian religious leaders and Muslim leaders with some traditional leaders of other ethnic groups had to go to Gyel, du and other beriom community to talk to the elders to cation thier youths to stop the rustling of the cows and selling them in to ready buyers who takes them to enugu, Lagos and other parts of southern Nigeria were the bussiness is booming but what happend? the broke the camel back with many straw by killing a fulani boy and his sister and rustle 16 cows and now here we are...... It's such a pity the innocent ones are dying fulani can kill themselves cos of cow. the value it more than anything so do you think when they attack they will value any lives? Pls this issue started even before APC was formed so don't even bring political issue into it. If you want to bring politics into it then fine remember the trouble started when Jang a beriom Plateau Governor was there. |

overlord29:And the four fulanis killed on Thursday along barikin ladi road, which caused Saturday's reprisal, are not human beings ko? Almost on a daily basis Beroms kill fulanis and steal the corpse and cows to eat...but no one gives a hoot. And you expect the fulanis to just stand idly by. |

overlord29:The killings by the herdsmen are fueled by economic or financial reasons and really religious or ethnic. You kill 300 cows and you don't expect genocide? (Proverbs 27:12) Reprisal attacks on Fulani will only result in a spiral of revenge attacks. They will mow the plateau man aa they hire mercenaries to do the dirty work. Until the state governors are fully empowered aa Chief Security Officers of their States, this hideous carnage will continue |

People are dying everyday for God's sake, and this killings have never touched one of those who holds positions in the country, maybe that's why everything is still in the uprising, once it begins to touch theirs am sure something would be done hurriedly. |

As it is now, it will be very unwise to travel around those zone for business both in private or public transport. Nigeria is seriously in problem. It's indeed a chaotic situation in this country and yet our leaders have no vision. The Bible says "my people die because they lack wisdom". We don't need to be told that this Buhari administration lack no wisdom & direction to lead this country. All that's be happening in the middle belt and the latest happening at Jos is a case of ethnic cleansing and genocide. God will punish everyone involved in this killing with bitter revenge no matter how strong their position is in this country. *** I am deeply saddened. |

doeeyed:I sincerely understand ur concern. I deliberately refrained from perusing most of the pictures sent to my. The sight of them wud hunt me forever. At the risk of appearing to justify the herdsmen attack I will try to be careful what I type. In 2010 during my service year in Ebonyi state, I met a Fulani vet doctor, the 1st Fulani friend I ever had and he chronicled a clear picture of Fulani herdsmen, highlighting the depth of illiteracy that pervades them. That they revel in their abode in the forest. The choking illiteracy that exists among them makes it difficult for them to expose to the world what they face in the hands of violent rustlers and hostile communities over the years. I grew up as a little boy back then to see Fulanis, who once in awhile throng our streets, wielding sticks. And there's a reason they now go about armed. Any sincere effort to resolve this age-long crisis has to look into that. Moreso, is the fact that southern dominated media has failed to portray the true plight of the herdsmen. Miyeti happens to be the only medium through which they re heard. Miyeti in their statement that I read, didn't claim responsibility for the attacks. But they attributed that responsibility for the attacks to the herdsmen. These are two different tins. Mitering even went on to condemn the attacks. Take Saraki and the offa bank robbers case as an example. Not withstanding the account of the robbers that they are sponsored thugs of saraki and that saraki bought them a vehicle, there's no existing fact that saraki sent them to rob. Then again, sentiments does not favor the herdsmen. I remember clearly when it came in the news just last week how Fulani's coming back from the market where killed by people of that same community. Those were innocent fulanis. The matter was lightly reported by the media as many dismissed it as insignificant with the wave of the hand, while many insensitive Christians on NL gloated over the news. Fast forward to today and see for yourself. |

Very sad. RIP Zayyan Gwandu. May God grant the family the strength to bear the loss. On another note, people this is the main issue. Innocent people getting caught up in things they haven't the faintest idea. That's why I'm very displeased with this current government that could have set the pace for equal rights, justice and unity (in that particular order). Nigerian leaders keep squandering the goodwill they enjoy, only to start forming "Former Saint President" (trying to make others achieve what they refused / failed at) after their tenure. 2nd term or not, PMB's time shall pass. Then what will he be remembered for?! Omooba77: |

AbdulCLO:This is thrash! So all cattle rustlers are Plateau people ![]() Most times, it is same Fulani people that also rustle their fellow Fulani tribesmen's cattle. Most cattle rustlers are Fulani bandits. You guys can continue to give reasons to support Fulani stupidity, continue...we will see how it will end. At least we can all see that the victims won't be those poor defenseless people living in the village alone We can see an elite persons son killed, that's how it will keep consuming those in authority that refused to do the right thing but continued to give flimsy excuse for Fulani wickedness against fellow humans.Seriously with the way Nigeria is going, any slightest expansion of this Fulani madness to the south might result to mass killings and nationwide chaos which may lead to another deadly civil war and probably the end of Nigeria because another civil war will definitely kill and bury Nigeria finally. Why can't these rich politicians that own these cattle's invest in ranching and stop these barbaric herdsmen from going about destroying peoples farm produce in the name of rearing cattle, their personal business ![]() All over the world, big firms like Mobil, Shell, Total, BP, etc are forced to pay communities and regions when oil spillage thats most times beyond their control mistakenly occurs, but Fulani herdsmen destroy peoples farms, kill villagers and go scold free and we think such injustice will continue unrewarded forever ![]() Nature has a way of fighting back and balancing the earth if u don't know ![]() |

luvmijeje:And when a leader turns a blind eye to the wrong doings of his people, whom he agreed to guide, he should be punished severely by the appropriate authority. This applies to both sides of the crisis. If a leader is aware that his followers are going on a rampage and is unable to stop them, he should notify security operatives not keep quiet until an atrocious crime is committed. |

buhariguy:My fellow human, have in your mind that we are human first created by God or whatever you believe. This your hatred for people oppose to your ideology or political stance is the reason this killings will not stop. Be humane in your comments and don't spread hatred on social media. Let us preach love even though we have different culture. No properties of any kind worth a single human life. Properties can be replaced, but once life is sniffed off, no replacement. I totally condemned both killings and I pray it ends with this one. |

They can't justify the gruesome massacre of our people on flimsy excuses. These are calculated killings fuel by hatred from the herdsmen. The plateau man you and I know is very peaceful and welcoming and doesn't deserve this treatment. Just like Gen. TY Danjuma rightly said, we (especially the youths) must wake up and defend our people from total annihilation by this blood thirsty monsters. An average plateau man can never be cruel to a creature as tiny as an ant so why the wickedness? These killings have been on for over a decade now so the issue of rustling of their cattle doesn't hold water. The plateau youths must rise up and form vigilante groups to defend their God given land just like their forefathers did otherwise there won't be a future.
