Can somebody explain to me why Idowu was picked ahead of Ebuehi?.

It is clear to the blind that Ebuehi trumps Idowu in EVERY aspect.

Honestly, I feel like slapping that fool of a German coach.

If we lose today, I place the blame on Rohr, the white Onigbinde.

My people, Nigeria vs Argentina is the MOST anticipated match of this world cup so far. Everybody wants to know if this is going to be Messi's last world cup match. And all the pundits at FOX Sports (including Guus Hiddink, who's usually fair and balanced) think that Messi is going pull it off, as he did during the qualifiers. But Clarence Seerdof is holding down the fort for Africa. He thinks that this Nigerian team is coming together and would squeeze through.

And for that, I say, Clarence Seerdof for President!!!

The only thing that will assure us of victory is high level of discipline. They must fight every second of the game and contest for every ball. No sleep walking and everybody must defend,no unnecessary fouls in dangerous areas. The pressure is on them ,we will wait and hit them hard on the counter.

This Argentina team is very beatable. Great midfielders and attack but with Mikel, Ndidi and Etebor we will be fine.

Key..Concentration and Discipline
And I trust Musa to terrosize their defense.

I don't believe this "exclusive". The official line up would come up in about 3 hours, so I would disregard this line up until I see something official from the NFF twitter feed. But if this turns out to be official then I would say that Rohr needs to have his head examined. Like I said during the first half of the Iceland game, you can't play a 3-5-2 formation with Idowu as your LB because he's not a wing back.

If we really need to play 3-5-2 then we gotta have Ebuehi RWB and VicMo LWB or vice versa. I made that recommendation on twitter during the first half of the Iceland game and Rohr switched to that line up in the second half and that automatically changed the game. Hence, if Rohr goes back to Idowu then I will conclude that the man is a slow learner.

Exclusive – Super Eagles Line Up For Argentina Clash, Rohr Retains 3-5-2 Formation

The Nigeria national team will line up in a 3-5-2 formation when they take on Argentina later today in their final group game at the Russia 2018 World Cup, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Coach Gernot Rohr retained same set of players who started the game against Iceland for today’s clash as the Eagles hope to clip Argentina like they did in November in a friendly game played in Russia.
Nigeria switched to 3-5-2 in the second half of the November friendly and clawed their way back from trailing 1-2 to winning 4-2, and Rohr will use same tactics today hoping for same result.

Full Line up.
Francis Uzoho
Kenneth Omeruo
Bryan Idowu
Leon Balogun
William Troost-Ekong

John Obi Mikel
Oghenekaro Etebo
Victor Moses
Wilfred Ndidi

As long as dey almost beat Japan dat trashed Colombia and defeated Poland, Senegal will match Colombia.
Bros, football is not 1+1. Don't you know that Colombia were a man down against Japan?

And if Senegal crashes out, they have only themselves to blame. Such a poor defense against Japan.

If you think hold up play is not important, then why is Giroud at the WC and not Lacazette or Martial for France?

Why was Tiimo Weiner picked and Sane dropped for Germany?

It works for a team with quality. We are not talking about france here. We are talking aboit the super Eagles of Nigeria. I couldnt care less if it worked for other teams. In our own case, it has not yielded anything positive. Rather, its making Ighalo look like a clown looking for free kicks. There is more to games than hold up play. What else can be contributed other than hold up play? Assist we no get. Goals, we no get. Una dey make noise about hold up play.

Hold up play, hold up play, we lost to England, lost to Czech, lost to Croatia. When we were supposed to find a way to a way to fine tune 3-5-2 and forcefully incorporate the supposed frontmen into it. If thats the only strong point Ighalo has, then its obvious he needs to do more than that. Otherwise, his slot in the team is becoming rather questionable. And the ready made answer is Gernot Rohr's loyalty

I hope Rhor is not starting Idowu again. We should not be using our subtitution chances for defence. Our re-enforcement should be upfront when we need goal and in midfield when we need to defend goal.

So in your opinion Japan "trashed Colombia"? Are you for real

Colombia played against Japan with 10 men against 11 for 83 mins and still outplayed Japan! In fact, Colombia were unlucky not to get something out of that match. Bottom line, Colombia would have defeated Japan easily if that game had been 11 against 11 for the entire game. And honestly, I don't expect Senegal to get a result against Senegal but we can still hope sha. Stranger things have happened.

Actually, Messi is only 31 and Cristiano Ronaldo is almost 34. Hence, if Cristiano could do it at age 34, I don't see why Messi can't do it at age 35. My only concern is that the disorganization with the Argentina FA would force Messi to quit the national team again. That would be a big loss for world footie.

Bros leave story. Cristiano is a specimen. Lives his every second working on his body and skills in order to cheat nature, like Lebron James. We definetly can not say the same about Messi.

GBU there, my brother!!! You nailed it right there! It's the whole media bias that turned me into an unrepentant Messi fanatic. Take for instance, when Messi lost a penalty, it was portrayed as the worst thing that has ever happened in the game of football. To hear the way they piled on, it was as if Leo Messi is the first top player to ever miss a penalty in the World Cup.

And by the way, this Cristiano's miss is as big if not bigger than Messi's miss. Cristiano has potentially cost his country a potential quarter finals finish. I mean, let's face it, they should've been favored against Russia but I don't see them getting a result against Uruguay. Uruguay ain't gonna be as "charitable" as either Iran or Spain. To me, the round of 16 would be the end of the road for Cristiano and Portugal at this world cup.

Easy for us to say...

1)Idowu is the only one amongst the 2 to have scored against Argentina has.
2) Ebeuhi caused a penalty in his last game, Idowu a starter has not caused on yet, this is a big game confidence is needed, Idowu is at home, crowd support.

Idowu will have the mental edge over Ebeuhi. He owned them and even scored against them in tgeir last meeting.

But I think, the list is not accurate becausr I believe Ebuehi will start because of Idowi's Yellow card.

If there is anything that will make us lose this match it will be the coach and lack of discipline.
I heard he is trying to start Idowu again...I am hoping the news is fake.
Secondly, like I said before we need high level of discipline which comes with tough mental strength. We must not give these Argentines any space to operate, their passing game must be choked with our high level of strength. Nigeria has everything and more to disgrace these clueless and embarrassing bunch but we need to know in our mind that we can beat them without sweating it...I want Messi and all his fans to shade tears after 90 minutes.

Our physical nature must manifest in this crucial cracker ,no need to kick them just intimidate and bully every one of them superior strength. This game is not going to be won by talent because we can match them skill for skill but our concentration, focus and discipline is very very important.

My only worry is dinosaur Rohr, if anything he will be the one to kill us.

If we win today, it'll be a weird mix of emotions back home. There will be a feeling of jubilation with a terrible mix of tribulation in some parts of Naija. Although football cannot compensate for the loss of lives, let us use this sport to attempt to bridge the divides that exist in our nation.

Thank you, my dear. That's why I rarely take those pundits serious. I mean, objectively speaking, Nigeria would be favored in this game because two obvious facts:
1. We're in better form - Nigeria: L W . Argentina: D L
2. We've performed better against same oppositions: NGR vs CRO (0-2), vs ISR (2-0). ARG vs ISR (1-1), vs CRO (0-3).

And by the way, don't forget that Diego Maradona played his LAST World Cup match against Nigeria. Hence, it's possible that Leo Messi's LAST World Cup game should come against Nigeria as well grin grin grin

Achilles the cat, the animal oracle for the 2018 World Cup, has predicted that Nigeria will beat Argentina in their final Group D match.
The cat was presented with a choice of two bowls of food with Argentinian and Nigerian flags placed next to them, and Achilles preferred the latter one.
Earlier, the congenitally deaf snow-white cat correctly predicted Russia's wins over Saudi Arabia and Egypt, Iran's victory over Morocco and Brazil's defeat of Costa Rica.
The Group D game between two-time former champions Argentina and Nigeria will be held at the St. Petersburg Stadium at 04:00am tomorrow morning.
Argentina go into the match knowing only a victory could see them through to the round of 16.
