Hello Good friends,

I sincerely need your candid advice in this my situation:
I am going for another B.Sc in Germany which is closely related to the B.Sc I had already attained in Nigeria.
I have not heard from the M.Sc applications I made.
I got a B.Sc admission yesterday and I planned to proceed with it.

my challenge is that our family friend who suppose to provide Sponsorship letter is objecting.

he said that since the B.Sc I had in Nigeria is OK (2.1) and also considering my age (36) that embassy may deny me visa.

I have been reading this thread and I don't know if he is right.

please has anyone in my situation successfully gotten A.M with SL?

it depends on how well you can defend yourself before the VO. SL or BA is not the problem but can you defend yourself

I will advice you to be patient and wait for your master admission and your sponsor is right your chances re very slim if you proceed no matter how much you can defend yourself it’s only show you re desperate to leave the country...

Embassy needs 3-4 weeks to issue out visa that a standard procedure...is either the school extend your enrollment date or you get earlier appointment with the embassy( which might be alittle tricky)

But with your current situation, you might not get the visa cuz no enough time duration for the process..

Anyway all the best

What makes it hard for him to convince the vo, is it the fact that he is 36 or is going for another bsc?

He has a good grade that's the problem... (in my own opinion)
In my own case the first thing my VO asked me after I told her it was a second Bsc was what was my cgpa. When I told her only her talk "no wonder".

But now if u have a good grade u really don't have an excuse /reason

Bros, because he has a good grade shouldn't be an issue at all.. And also I think the guy said the course he's going for in Germany is related or close to the one he studied in Nigeria.

Pls, my programme in Hannover is just BTW September 3 to December 20 and that's less than 3 months . And I'm to do my second semester in a partner university abroad .

My question is this , is it student permit I will apply for or just visitors visa .... considering the short duration of my course in Germany . Pls help me.

Cuz I am aware that Canada dont issue TRV (but another type of visa)for students going for courses of less than 6 months.

I would like to know if Germany have a similar thing

If u get email from the embassy to come with insurance and ur passport, once u provide them with that then u get ur visa same day.

Back in 2013 got email from embassy, went there the next day got my visa same day.

You may still be granted visa, although your case screams *desperation* which is not good for visa application. Your GPA is good also, you are not switching fields so there is no logical explanation as to why you should want a second undergraduate degree.

Even if you were granted visa, spending 3 years on similar degree is unnecessary and seems like a waste of time. Wait for your admission and if possible defer it to Summer intake.

Your best bet is to contact the embassy and make inquiry

So, I stumbled upon a YouTube video about life in Germany and have decided to share this website - where you can practically be guided on price indices across different cities in Germany. These prices go from rent, utilities, internet, transport to feeding, cinema tickets, foodstuff and all other stuff.

Thought it might help some people:
