First of all, I want to thank God almighty for making this a possibility. We propose but God disposes. I will like to thank everyone on this great forum who have contributed in one way or the other. I have been a silent follower of this thread for more than a year now and only became an active member after I submitted my application. I must say I learnt a lot in background. To all those waiting for their TRV, I pray God almighty actualize their dreams. I must also say prayer is key. Profile: -Male, 23 years old -Graduated December 2015 from LAUTECH (B.Tech Electrical and Electronic Engineering, First Class Honors) -NYSC (November 2016-October 2017) -No Travel History -Didn’t include any employment history (omitted SIWES and NYSC work experiences) -Didn’t include CV -haven’t paid tuition -Got admitted to 2 years MEng Electrical and Computer Engineering Program at Concordia University. I stated in my SOP she’s on a fully funded scholarship to show sponsor would only be catering for me over there) -Disclosed my bro is a Canada PR -Parents marriage certificate -Mum’s bio data page -Mum’s TRV valid for one year and her return ticket (to travel June 22 and return back to Nigeria July 21) -Dad’s driver’s license -My driver’s license -my IELTS certificate Sponsor documents: Sponsor is my dad -CAC of his company -His company bank SOA to which he his the sole signatory with closing balance of 23m -Sponsor Letter -Valuation report of family landed properties in mother’s name -Bank’s letter of reference My SOP structure: - Introduction: stated what I was applying for, and the reason for applying which is the program I am going for. I stated the duration of the program. Also stated my qualification and graduation date. Body: I answered the following questions - why I want a masters degree? -why the chosen program? -which specialization? -why Canada?(the specialization is not available in Nigeria) -why Concordia? -what are the benefits? (Providing innovative solutions for dad’s company customers) -which work have I done related to the specialization? (made ref to supporting Dad’s company I.T dept before and after NYSC in the completion of a multimillion project. I included the certificate of completion of the project and the letter of award of the contract. Also, made mention of new technologies I intend to learn and transfer to improve on the work done) -who is my sponsor? -what expenses will he be covering? -what the tuition and living expenses for one year? Conclusion: Emphasized on what I intend to achieve on return to Nigeria and also home ties. Home ties: Parents Family Landed properties Dad’s company Then prayers and fasting! If I remember anything else I added, I will edit post. Am available in case of any questions. Gracias! Edit: I will also like to note to applicants having either parents as sponsor. My dad used a powerful statement when stating why he’s sponsoring me. Apart from stating his company is currenting undergoing different projects which are within the confines of my proposed study. He also emphasized that it’s his role as a father to ensure I attain my life goals. I was touched by this and I think any VO who is human too will Ben touched by it. |

Good evening to everyone in the house and a very big congratulations to all those who have gotten their TRV... and to those still awaiting theirs it will end in praise IJN Amen. PLS... my gurus in the house, I need your advice concerning my situation, I have been trying to secure masters admission but it has not come by yet. I got an offer at Algonquin College ( Mechanical Engineering Technology, 3 Years Advanced Diploma). I am a graduate of Mechanical Engineering, i graduated with second class upper. My fear is that will the visa officer not say there is no academic progression in my proposed program, also the tuition fees is about $ 16000 CAD for the first year, thus this program wot it considering the high tuition fees. Your input would go a long way in assisting and guiding me. |

Hello house, I've been a silent reader for about 3months now. I submitted my application before discovering this group. Nice one guys. I'm really confused right now, sent in my application march 8 alongside my spouse who is only a dependent visitor. We both got our medical request on may 14, and it was passed on 20th may. My spouse got his TRV approval on June 2nd, but I'm yet to get an update on mine, I've filled the case enquiry form to Accra and London, nothing still. My application is 16 weeks now. Would appreciate if anyone can help with a mail I can contact CIC with, or anyone who has had a similar situation. Thanks in advance |
