Well I wasn't there when the story started but I joined in along the line. I haven't noticed how often you update, but I have noticed that it's usually far apart. I know you have a life in the real world, like everyone else, so I don't expect you to spend your entire time giving updates. All I am saying is making it consistent. If you say "next update is so so so", try to stick to it. Some of us actually set reminders on our phones for that date wink. NL writers are always so quick to remind us of how they are doing us a favour by writing "pro bono". With all due respect you decided to start up the story, we didn't beg you to, and I believe whatever is worth doing is worth doing well. We, your fans, are also doing you a favour by reading it. You shoul be grateful because some of us don't have to do this. Thanks
Ermmm. Madam do you readers try to think of what might cause the delay, Centino that i know has been consistent, except on few occasions and those are what can be waived over... He even gives us mid-week update once awhile. Thanks

THE RETURN

Mama Akunna looked up and saw a mountain of fire where the compound stood. She rocked on her feet as the face of her baby was rapidly turning crimson from the burning sensation they both felt. She would have turned back and fled; but as she contemplated it, she saw with her natural eyes neighbors running inside the compound at the sight of her. Fear. Just the lifeline she needed at that moment. Through her ethereal eyes, she saw the fear beating a path for her into the compound. It was like the parting of the red sea, though in this case, it was the appearance of a fireproof tunnel into the compound erected by the combined auras of these sorry men. Her focus immediately shifted to the soakaway where she picked up someone’s thought forms. What she saw was raging lust in the form of a dog thrashing about and headed for the compound as well. That immediately became a burst of cool air into the passage. Then suddenly the dog stopped thrashing about and vanished. The lust had dissipated, but in its place was something else. Guilt. She focused her natural eyes and saw Ndifreke standing there in utter confusion. The guilt aura surrounded him. He was going to go and be with someone other than Maya but suddenly stopped himself. He had not recovered quickly enough to make her passage any more difficult as guilt, as much as lust, helped to smoothen the way for her. Feeling safe now, Mama Akunna threw a leg over the gutter and landed in the compound and followed a cool clear path which the will of the men of little faith she shared the earth space with had created for her into number 225.

Josephine lay in bed and waited. She was sure he was going to come. She saw that unmistakable look in his eyes and knew his resolve was shattered. As time wore on and he had not come and she began to feel sleepy, she decided to leave her door ajar knowing that he would not want to knock when there was a chance that Maya or her relations could see him entering her room. She woke to the delicious sensation of him sucking her vulva. She was right all along that he was going to be something special. She liked her man knowing what to do without being told. She knew she slept off lying on her back with her knees bent upwards and legs slightly apart; meaning he just went in for her honeypot in the position he found her. She closed her eyes and squeezed her breasts together as the sweet sensation traveled through her, and just as she was getting to the edge, he stopped and turned her over. She felt his fingers, then his tongue again from this new angle, and then the wind went out of her as he filled her with the thickest pen*s ever. She gasped and her mouth hung open as she received his heavy strokes for no less than twenty minutes. Then she felt his weight on her and knew he wanted her to go flat on her belly. She obliged him and pushed her bum out to meet his now desperate thrusts and he immediately spasmed and shuddered and collapsed on top of her. They stayed that way for a few minutes to catch their breaths, and as she began to feel around for her torch to see his beautiful face, he pulled out, climbed down from the bed, and made for the door.

Oh well, with a performance like that, she had no problem forgiving his bad manners.

“I nearly fell into temptation Mr Cosmas. I was that close. I never thought I would say this but I was grateful that Mama returned the time she did.”

“In all things give thanks, then.”

“True.”

“So why did you let it happen?”

“I don’t know. I guess I thought I could handle it, afterall, we were in the open, people were passing, and surely she was not going to seduce me in the full glare of the compound.”

“Hmmm.”

“And you do know how helpful she was all the while Maya was unwell. The girl makes a lot of sense and I dare say she is a good nurse.”

“What makes you think so?”

“She is quite knowledgeable for a start. She doesn’t talk like one that does not know what she is saying. And I still owe her money.”

“I see.”

“I also didn’t want to be rude, or appear weak.”

“In the end, you saw how weak you really were.”

“Yeah.”

“But why did that happen? Why was I so overcome with desire for her that I forgot everything I knew? I forgot all about Maya, I forgot the things you and my father have thought me including everything from Sunday school. At that moment, I would have taken her bottom if they had placed that and a job and asked me to choose one. Is that to say that I lack self-control?”

“Yes and no.”

“Meaning?”

“Yes because with the right amount of self control, you would have known when to end the conversation and walk away since you felt you were obliged to talk to her. And no because – wait for it – you can’t cheat nature. Without your spirit, you are an animal no different from a dog or a goat. When an animal is in heat, it is restless until it has had its release. While you sat there having that conversation and looking at her half-naked body your spirit was so grieved it retreated and all that sat there with her was the animal you. Remember the admonition in Ephesians 4:3 not to grieve the Spirit. When you do that, it goes away and leaves you to your own devices. Left alone you are only a dog. And by its nature, a dog will follow the female. People wonder all the time why men cheat. Women are right when they say men are animals because most of the time there is nothing spiritual about the modern man. He is an empty shell living instinctively like an animal having almost killed the spirit within. So he will respond to the urgings of his body every time he has the opportunity. Catch him today and he is genuinely remorseful and promises never to do it again and even means it. But because he cannot tune to his inner man for guidance, he will fall for the next temptation. Sadly, my friend, it is natural. You cannot even blame him.”

“But it is his fault that his spirit is grieved and no longer functioning.”

“Put that way, you are right young friend. It is every man’s responsibility to keep the only thing that separates him from an animal alive and shining. A man who lives consciously perceives temptation before it comes and flees.”

“But Mr Cosmas it’s not easy.”

“I know. What you can do for a start is to set up barriers. Don’t stay alone with a woman you are attracted to or is attracted to you. If you must be together, make sure there is someone else there. If you can’t achieve that, talk about it and make sure you both understand what should and shouldn’t be. Very many times the thing just “happens”. Don’t let it. I know men who never give “playful” hugs to women who are not theirs. I know men who never take strange women in the front of the car when they are driving. Another thing that works is to make sure that at all times as you interact you are only looking a woman in the eyes; not her neck, not her hands, and of course never her breasts or bottom. To put it bluntly, never check out a woman who is not your wife.”

“How about Maya?”

“Maya is your wife.”

“Thank you Mr Cosmas.”

“You’re welcome.”

******

“Bros Freke. She is back.”

“I know.”

“Did you sleep well?”

“I did.”

“Were you afraid?”

“In truth I was, but I prayed.”

“So upon all the fire those people spat and all the anointing oil they poured Mama Akunna still walked into this compound and slept and woke up this morning.”

“The Lord works in mysterious ways. He may have caused her to repent we don’t know.”

“You think because she didn’t press you last night that she has repented?”

“It’s possible.”

“I bet you it is not so.”

Ndifreke shrugged. Let’s wait and see.”

“I wish sister Esther would bring the prayer people when she is around. I want to see what would happen when they start shouting fire! fire! fire! die! die! die! when she is passing.”

“This is not a joking matter Irikefe.”

“Of course it isn’t. I told the men to stand up like men and do something but no. They left Sister Esther to go and bring some clowns here to speak empty words, and right after the witch came back and walked in like a special guest at an event. Poor Esther even tried to do something. The men of this compound are a disgrace.”

“So that is why you did not come for the prayer?”

“Me? Bros na wa for you o” Irikefe said and scoffed. “Meanwhile I see you with nurse for soakaway. Your mouth just hang open spit dey fall comot when you dey talk to am.”

“Don’t be ridiculous Irikefe.”

“See bros, if na me be Maya, I no go kuku talk to you again lai lai.”

“Haba Irikefe, it couldn’t have been that bad.”

“I thought it was. And you just stood at attention watching her ass as she went back inside. I was surprised you didn’t go after her.”

“Well, mama came back and I remembered my spirit.”

“Which spirit again?”

“Never mind.”

“Bros that nurse don trap you. But I understand.”

“You don’t understand anything.”

“Maya will regret leaving you vulnerable.”

“Maya will regret nothing. And the nurse has not trapped me. If I did not fall for her yesterday, I will never fall for her again.”

“Hmmm.”

They arrived at the rooftop at the same time. He spoke first.

“What was all that? Why was the place so hot and unwelcoming when we arrived?”

“They prayed and spoke the word and anointed the place.”

“So they know?”

“Yes, they now know.”

“It was Irikefe right?”

“Yes, it was.”

“When do we take him out?”

“Soon.”

“Why wait?”

“All eyes are now on me. Nothing should happen to anyone now.”

“What will they do?”

“They will go and investigate. This is Africa. With our backs against the wall, we know our methods.”

“So we lie low again till they forget?”

“More or less.”

“So how did we make it through the heat?”

“Their lack of faith saw us through. The prayers and everything they did would have been effective if they had stood their ground when we arrived. They had truly fortified the compound. But they also gave us a path through.”

“So we are at their mercy?”

“We are always at their mercy. Our success or failure is solely down to the will of man. These ones are where they are in life because of their lack of faith. Without faith, you cannot succeed in anything. You will never see a successful person who did not take a risk. To take a risk you must believe. These ones don’t believe anything. All they do is blame, beg, and complain. That is not the sort of will that can take you out of poverty or repel a witch.”

“In that case, we have nothing to fear.”

“Yes, sort of. But let’s not get carried away.”

“Why we shouldn’t hurt Irikefe yet.”

“Why we won’t hurt him the way we planned to.”

“Okay, so we use the plan B.”

“Yes, we use the plan B.”

TO BE CONTINUED.

Someone else took advantage of the situation....... Could be that one eye barber or that young rascal father or even the ugly Achike or the village Champion who just arrived but one thing I know it's not ndifrieke.

If that was the case, I would like to fault the fact that she dint open her eyes to see who it was throughout the ordeal. Unless it all happened in the spirit realm but from the description, it was physically done.

Like I said, the next update should throw more light on it.
