OK sir, we will do just that. The money will be paid into my account.

What questions are we expecting?

Will we be interviewed separately and on different days?

Do we need to include pictures when its not stated? (Will it not seem like something else)?

Are our chances of getting the visa high?

I have read the thread from page 1 though i have not finished, and have good knowledge of questions that they can ask me but am oblivious of his own possible questions.

I will also appreciate insight of other questions I have not come across and I might expect

Also, should we are not applying for a priority visa hope its OK or do you advise we apply for priority or super priority.

Good morning sir and happy new month to you and your family. May you be highly favoured, amen.

Usually they will ask you questions about your program, why you decided to do the program and why the UK, your plans after your program.

I'm not sure your hubby will be interviewed but if they do it will likely be separate and he needs to prepare answers around what he will be doing in the UK while you are studying,

Yes you need to include pictures, marriage certificate and wedding pictures.

If your program is starting Sep and you are applying next week then you don't need to worry about using priority services because you still have time/

Thank you so much sir. Do we need to also include utility bills and things about his work like employment letter, etc?

Also, what are our chances if getting the visa if we get all documents ready?

Can you please sir throw more light on what answers he can give regarding what he will do when he gets to the UK?

Thank you so much sir.

Those are not needed but it will not harm your application if included.

Nobody can honestly tell you what your chances are even the ECO, you just have to put in a good application and remain positive.

Read this link regarding who your hubby are allowed to do while in the UK from there he can pick up one or two ideas about how to answer such question if asked at all

Good evening.

Please what is the possibility of using my brother's statement of account and also a letter from him? This is coupled with the sponsorship statement from my mom and Dad.

I'm just trying all my options here. Don't want to wait for 28 days ... too long.

Your feedbacks are highly welcomed.

Thank you.

Thank you Justwise and everybody for all you have been doing for students.

Please I have a question. My tuition plus living expenses for 9 months is £22150. I have more than that in my sponsor's account. The money has been sitting in the account for more than a month. I plan to pay my tuition next week. My question is as follows please:

After paying my tuition next week, can I immediately apply for my visa, even without waiting for the 28 days period? Can I just print a statement showing the preceding 28 days covering the amount?

I want to apply for the visa as soon as possible. Hence I will be unable to wait for the 28 day period.

Answers will be appreciated.

1. Your sponsor MUST either be your legal Dad or Legal Mum, or yourself. Be sure that the money that has been “sitting” for more than 28 days which you mentioned above is in the PERSONAL accounts of any of the people I just listed.

2. If the money (even after paying school fees) has NEVER fallen below the required monetary requirement threshold, that should be fine. Just ensure that when you submit the statement, it must succinctly capture at least 28 days BEFORE your application was made.

So if for example the huge money has been in the account since April (for example) and never gone below the threshold, then it effectively means you have already covered the 28 day period requirement.

Hello Dear,

I was in almost same shoe as you last year so thought I share with you.
Doing my PhD now, though I am partially funded, the university takes care of all my tuition fee and I take care of my housing and feeding. So this was what we did (I, Hubby and Child). All maintenance money was in my Gtbank Account, it wasn't enough for three of us (Please dont try this oh!! have more than enough). I had to use super priority service to get my visa the next day, I was not interviewed. After I got my visa, Hubby and child visa appointment was booked two days after I got my visa, so we printed another bank statement and they used it. Hubby wasn't interviewed. We have settled in well and thankfully, it's the best decision we made so far.

1) Make sure the money is more than enough because of inflation and in your own bank account.
2) Marriage certificate
3) Lovey-dovey pictures and chat
4) Bills showing you both live in same house is good too (Though all these are extra but there is no harm having more than enough)
5) All your school documents ready
6) CAS
7) Tuberculosis test result
cool Prepare for you interview, you did your masters in UK (Likewise I), I guess you should be familiar with the interview questions

Wish you all the best.

Lozzysassy:
Dear Justwise and all, am new to naira land but I have been reading and following up on all UK thread. I had my masters in the UK and came back in 2016, got married the same 2016, and then started to work as I saved for my PhD. Now, I applied and got 4 admissions in the UK. Paid a part if my tuition fee.

Now I want to travel with my husband as my dependant. He works as a lecturer in an institute and recently concluded his masters. We have 15million for our bank statement. 5Million for him and 11million for him. I also work. We also have money for our visa processing. I also have a US visa that is still valid to expire next year. He has not travelled before.

We have been together since 2013 but officially started dating in January 2014, truout my stay in the UK we always talked and skyped a lot immediately I came back, we got married.

But our bank statement was given by our both parents. Can my dad show for the both of us or does the money need to be transfered to my own account.

My questions are as follows:

1) What is the chance of us getting the visa (we are not bearing the same surname but we have a court marriage certificate).
2) whose account should the money be in?
3) Do we need to show pictures, house rent receipts, bills, and other things or landed documents to show we have ties?
4) what other ties can we show? Do we need employment letters (for both of us) or what?

My school resumes in October.

Please I need these answers quickly as am about to burst from anxiousness.

I will really appreciate all answers gurus of the house. Thank you.

I had my tb test today. Am just a little bit worried because on the tb certificate given to me, the box for chest x ray was ticked abnormal as a result of spina bifida occulta. Although there was no trace of tuberculosis. Please has anyone had this kind of experience before? Will it affect my visa? Am going on tetfund scholarship, I pray and hope this visa goes through. @Justwise

1 in every 10 people hAve Spina Bifida Occulta and you can live a normal life with it- it only implies there is a malformation of one or more bones of the spine. It's not even considered a disability except in severe cases. It is also not communicable and as such will have no impact on your studies.

Hello,

I applied for a T4 visa with my spouse and son as dependents 2 months ago. The bank statement needs to be in your name (principal applicant)
If you were applying alone, you could have used your parent's statement but the guidance does not state if this is allowed for applicant's dependents so please use your account.
To answer your questions
1. Your chances of getting the visa are very high if you get the 40 points required i.e have enough cash as required and in the manner stated by the T4 guidance have your CAS, also if you prove to be a genuine student during the interview. Whether or not you and your spouse bear the same surname is irrelevant, just show the marriage certificate you have.
2. The money should be in your account
3. The T4 guidance doesn't require you showing you have ties to your home country. Personally I only submitted my bank statement, pictures of my family and I, TB certificate, ATAS certificate (if required) and my CAS. But if you feel more comfortable submitting your house documents, you can. You can never have too many supporting documents.
4. Employment letter isn't needed.

In summary, if the principal applicant receives his/her visa then your dependents should also be given theirs, except if they previously had some problem with UK immigrations or lie on their application. You should be fine, pls make allowance for fluctuation in exchange rate and make sure you have enough cash as stated in the T4 guidance to cover for your first year tuition and maintenance allowance. Your husband will most likely not be interviewed as only T4 applicants are interviewed. His travel history does not matter as this is a T4 dependent and not for a visitor's visa.
You've done the T4 interview before so you know what to expect.
I wish you the very best.

Hello people,

I just gained admission to study an undergraduate course in the UK( Bsc mental health nursing) . My major concern is about what someone told me.

The person said my chances of getting a visa to study a first degree are slim given my age. I'm almost 40. She said once they see my age that alarm bells will ring and they get suspicious.

I told her I already have a bsc and an Msc in OAU n unilag respectively, (psychology) The good thing the course I studied is related to the one I've got an admission for. I just strongly feel the need for a career change.

Please I'd like your experienced inputs, so I'd make an informed decision soonest.

Many thanks

Not to be the bearer of bad news but I think they MAY be right. It doesn’t mean you may not get the admission/visa, it just means that you will go an extra length to prove that you truly want to study and have no ulterior motives. Besides I think (I’m not sure o- I said I think o) they have an age limit thing when it comes to BSc.

America and Canada do same, if you have a BSc and MSc and want to enter their country for another BSc, you may be needing two tails of a female lizard, the eye of an earth worm, 3 balls of a cockroach.. I'm sure you get my drift.

Anyway the gurus will come and give you a more certain answer.

Just curious.
Why would you have a BSc, and an MSc. Then you you want to go back as a mature student to study ANOTHER BSc?

Let me pretend to be the interviewer or ECO.
1. What are your career objectives?
2. Why do you want to study for a BSc, given that you have invested huge resources and time to get a BSc and MSc already?

3. What are your plans after your study in the UK?

4. Why did you choose (insert name of school??
5. Are you aware of the financial implication of your proposed studies?
6. Can you explain what you have been doing since you completed your BSc?

Thank u very much VO grin, but I think I answered questions 1-4 in my personal statement. I was also interviewed by 2 senior lecturers of the dept via skype and similar questions were put to me.

Well, mental health nursing in not unrelated to psychology, had my first and second degrees in psychology and clinical psy respectively. it was after the Msc that I had an experience with people suffering with mental health issues. This particular experience has been an eye opener because I worked closely with a mental health team in a psychiatric ward and decided then I'd love to be more involved in the daily activities of the in-patients and improve their overall well-being. Being a psychologist on the team doesnt bring that much opportunity as I noticed i was always on the ward to help out... bla bla

Of course once I'm done studying in the UK, In plan to come back and establish a rehab center in Lagos, Nigeria as I would have had a lot of experience clinically and this would be transferred and put to god use. I've visited a couple of public and private mental facilities in Lagos Nigeria and I can boldly say we have a long way to go as regards the way mental health nurses trained locally handle patients and what they have to contribute in the ward rounds. Hence, the need to have an international exposure would help broaden my perspective.

This particular Uni caught my interest not just because a family friend that's an alumnus recommended them to me but also because of their course modules and the fact that I'd get a lot of hands on experience through the range of clinical placements available.

i don taya ooo... but I think Ive done a little homework in that regard. hope I've been able to satisfy your curiosity to some degree.

Haha he is truly a VO!

Since you were able to get admission (I assume you did) you can try your luck for visa. Just make you you spray the whole write-up with (the blood of Jesus and) how you intend to return to Naij to work. Ok?

Wish you the best.

Hi guys,
My school asked me to send my statement of acct for review before they issue my CAS. What i sent was rejected because they said the funds had only been in the acct for one day, which is correct. They asked that i send another statement when it gets to 28 days. Please is this normal with other universities?

Typically, schools don’t want to “waste” a CAS.
Some schools have had their “licence to admit foreign students “ withdrawn as a result of their prospective students falling below Home Office (UKVI) standards.

As a result of the afore-mentioned, schools would usually require you to fulfil at least the 28 day rule, then issue you a CAS.

So... nothing unusual.

The Good news is that the 28 days (or whatever days your school requires) will run concurrently with what UKVI requires.

In this scenario, just prepare to have the money sit down in your account for greater than 35 days.

By the way.... did the school specifically tell you how long they would require the money to have stayed before you print the Acct statement?

28 days. I was worried because school resumes September. I hope they will keep to the within 5 days issuance of CAS as stated on their website.

Nothing to be worried about. Almost all schools in Uk now demand for SOA before CAS is issued and yes, you will get your CAS within 5 working days.

Had a family friend who finished secondary school in 2002 or 2003 and later got admission to uniben. He dropped out of uniben cos of his unseriousnes and wasted about 11 years of his life.

In 2014 (he was probably 28 then) he got admission to a college in Glasgow. I prepped him back then for possible interview questions. And of cos he needed to answer why he would just be going for HND at the age of 28 after graduating from high school since 2003 ( I knew they would ask - no brainier).

He told the interviewer HIS truth and justified why he is going now to give education a second chance. He got his visa, spent 2 years in getting his HND, crossed over to UWS, paisley at 300L and graduated with his BA (Hons) just this past week. He even invited me for his graduation but I could not attend.

Everyone told him back then in Nigeria he would not get the visa as he was too old and had a gap for 11 years (I must confess even I had fears for him but did not let him know). Today he is a graduate in uk and about to do his masters in September.

Your case is even better... you already have BSc, MSc and probably have a job. Please what is the worst that can happen to you? A refusal? I pray the school gives you an unconditional offer. Please happily apply for your visa afterwards.

I read your reasons above and makes sense to me. You addressed coming back to the country, reason why you are going for this course and why you chose the school.

Please make sure you use your bank statement as this shows your commitment to the passion about going back to study.

Lest I forget, the story I shared above, I told my FF back then to fast and pray. No matter how well he prepared or how I prepped him, I strongly believe God had a role to play.
please pray as well. Peace be with you.

Nothing to be worried about. Almost all schools in Uk now demand for SOA before CAS is issued and yes, you will get your CAS within 5 working days.

Thank you.

Had a family friend who finished secondary school in 2002 or 2003 and later got admission to uniben. He dropped out of uniben cos of his unseriousnes and wasted about 11 years of his life.

Many thanks
I've a similar experience

I've follow the thread to a good extent and I really appreciate all the contributors.

Please is there anyone who was able to use a legal guardian (as regards maintenance fund)?

I know most people advised getting someone to move cash into your account and let it stay for 28 - 30 days. Please should me not getting someone to do this for me, how can I use a family friend bank statement and use such a person as my legal guardian? I'm really stuck on this.

Please house help a brother.

Reason why we advise people not to use legal guardian is cos Nigerians hardly document such which then makes it difficult to prove that person is your legal guardian.

If your family friend is scared of transferring the money into your account, tell him to open an account in your name for you in the same bank and branch he uses. He should then transfer the money to that account and tell the bank not to allow you access to withdraw the money. Once the 28 days is over plus the period of visa processing, he then takes back his money.

I THINK it is possible to do this if he speaks with his account officer. There should be a way around that. Maybe the bankers on here can help out.

Please note, the advice I gave to you is something I think (not sure) is possible.
