Do you really know your CIVIC DUTY ; you slowpoke. Do you really know what your civic duties are

How does these makes a worst situation bad already, do you make good use of your brains at all.

These will only make the appropriate authorities to tighten there belt and do what is expected of them.

So the appropriate authorities don´t see it?

This is not celebration. You are the one celebrating and elaborating jihad.

PRESS RELEASE
REPORTS OF DENIAL OF LANDING RIGHTS TO A CHARTERED FLIGHT AT NIGERIAN AIR FORCE BASE MAKURDI

The attention of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has sadly been drawn to allegations that it prevented a chartered flight from landing at its Base in Makurdi on 16 July 2018, for political reasons. There is absolutely no iota of truth in the allegations that NAF’s decision was politically motivated. To start with, the runway at NAF Base Makurdi is not a dual user facility but one constructed strictly for military purpose. Accordingly, in line with global best practices, there is a clearly established procedure for non-NAF aircraft to operate into and out of the runway in Makurdi, and that procedure is well known to all qualified pilots in Nigeria. Indeed, many airlines had in the past adhered to the stipulated procedure and therefore successfully landed and taken off from the NAF runway in Makurdi. The procedure includes a written request to NAF Headquarters Abuja for permission for a specific aircraft to operate into its airfield on a specific date and time, including the names of passengers and other necessary details.

In this case, there was indeed a request for permit by the Benue State Government, dated 16 July 2018, for Aircraft with Registration Number 5N-FCT to land at NAF Base Makurdi on 16 July 2018. Although requests for landing permits are expected to reach NAF Headquarters not later than two days before the desired landing date, the NAF went out of its way to expedite the process and accordingly granted the permit for aircraft with Registration Number 5N-FCT to land at NAF Base Makurdi on 16 July 2018. However, at about 5pm on 16 July 2018, the NAF was verbally informed that there was a need to change the aircraft for which permission had already been issued, reportedly because the aircraft had developed snags. The NAF, therefore, asked for another written request, in line with the established procedure. As at date, the NAF Headquarters is yet to receive a written request for the replacement aircraft with Registration Number 5N-IZY to land at its Base in Makurdi.

For the avoidance of doubts, the NAF does not concern itself with political or religious affiliations of individuals/organizations in granting landing rights at its airfields. The issue of security and safety remains uppermost particularly while noting that the ongoing Operation WHIRL STROKE is largely being coordinated from NAF Base Makurdi, with fighter aircraft flying in and out of the Base. The NAF remains a highly professional and apolitical organization that would rather focus on its military duties. Consequently, the NAF wishes to implore all concerned to desist from dragging the name of the NAF into partisan politics.

No offense chief, why is this here, like honoring a mass murderer? These are terrorists, why even post the fact that ISIS was paying homage to a terrorist? And to refer to shekau as a sheik? lord, these are low life human beings, no need to even spread such picture online, no one needs to know what the dead guy looks like or how he died, or who pays a freaking homage to him, perhaps some things should be left out, these aren't humanitarians.
And we should decide what these A-holes are called, not what they wanted to be called. Some pics just don't worth spreading.
And whether or not those pics are widely available online is irrelevant, the idea is to not help spread it
With all due respect of course, not trying to argue, just felt a tad disgusted seeing the pic, as if he died doing good

For one to consider himself as a military analyst, one has to be dispassionate about the source of accurate information.
We need to analyze what a gwan with accurate field information and that can be from any source

Unfortunately our military like many others play fast and lose with the truth
This is counterproductive and only postpones the doomsday

The cover ups and lies Nigerian army has told since the ecomog wars of yesteryears are still haunting them today

Some of us saw and predicted the hydra head security nightmare facing Nigeria as far back as 1999 when Obj came back to power .
I started blogging about it circa 2012 on beegeagles blog

Be that as it may, PMB is not only to blame
Though he should definitely take the lions share
Lawmakers that played politics delaying the budget and those who opposed the billion dollar spending package also have blood on their hands

Truth is we need upwards of 15 billion dollars to set our security architecture a right

We need to begin by facing our porous border nightmare with smart and crude technologies

Let’s fence our 3 borders am talking fencing, razor wire, helicopter mining and even solar electric fencing
We need drones and motion detectors and 50 plus refurbished and upgraded mi-24s to respond day and night along the borders

More to come

Thanks mate.

Has I said earlier there two sides to a coin; I respect your views but what about other opinions. It goes beyond spreading the news/materials of these ideologies.

The latest attacks reinforce a set of characteristics shared by extremists, who see themselves as martyrs. While some analysts have widened their inquiry beyond the sphere of ideology — drawing demographic parallels, for instance, and postulating archetypes of domestic violence — one human characteristic remains largely unexplored. We fall into that trap of assuming posting such materials; we are spreading terrorist ideology.

There is no money for all these, although I think we need minimum $5bn capex for defence & security per annum for the next three years. The answer is to retool NSCDC into a more potent static force able to hold ground while the NA and NAF hunt and kill Boko Haram. NA does not have manpower to do both. We need up to 50 choppers but they dont have to be MI 24s. Armed LUHs dispersed at NAF FOBS being constructed are enough. Those LUHs are brand new and cheap unlike used MI 24s that will give maintenance issues. The Super Tucanoes, I see Nigeria buying up to 60 units by 2022.

Bros, my problem with these cheap helicopters you mention is the same with NA's hiluxes. They are thin skinned in a battle space replete with mounted AAAs
Senegal is refurbishing and upgrading 4 L-39s and 3 to 5 mi-24s with the help of Poland. We in nigeria are taking what seems like the entire duration of the war to get 12 brand new mi-35. And we are spending top dollar. But the Senegalese would get theirs quicker with night vision capabilities of our brand new mi-35m.

We need to invest in cheaper stop gap measures ala Senegal, Angola and Sudan.

If we are refurbishing our old British tanks, ifv and APC s, why can't we turn to U.K. And the Jordanians for help. They have operated these vehicles, retired them, and have better upgrade solutions than we do.

Please some desk riding general should make themselves useful and google British and American excess defense articles. They would see that for an army like NA that would rather sacrifice an entire generation in hiluxes. There are hundreds of upgraded scimitars to be had.
We can get chieftain tanks from the Jordanians and re engine it with old t-72 tanks.

From the new trump administration, we can get almost whatever we. Want from the Americans

List of equipment on the Us excess to requirement defense articles are as follows: predator drones, Stryker apc s,humvess, up armed and regular ones, all manner of mraps used in Iraq and Afghanistan.

my brother I travelled to kaduna from Lagos, and gave a lift to an a.f.s.f dude at ekiti, and we started discussing about this boko boys wahala and the kidnapping at abuja - Kaduna highway. what the airman told me was just mind boggling I don't want to go into details because this insurgent thing is now a big money spinner for the millitary top brass. and the annoying thing is that the boots on ground are aware of their underhanding dealings, but they can't do anything about it. hence their resort to criminal activities to enrich themselves. we are in deep soup in these country.

And the Jordanians have already offered us 200 Apcs. Are we waiting for king Hussein to ship it himself? Or can someone in HQ make themselves useful innoson and dangote have shown that when given the chance, civil society will rise to the occasion.

Just organize a fundraiser and then patriotic Nigerian companies can volunteer cash, goods and services.
In this instance, a company that ships heavy equipment can also volunteer to go to Jordan, U.K. Or US to pick up these donated or sold items

Yobe state needs an air base asap. After dapchi and this latest mishap.

What is going on with the 3 Brazilian Air Force super. Tucano that they offered us when Obama was stringing us along?

Nigeria still has 29 or so L-39s that can be configured for night attack.

Add 4 mi-24 hinds and any bht convoy will be blown to kingdom com.

Those that say no money, there are cheap ways to get some of these done.
But we have to be proactive and not lazy beggars.

I am sorry the L-39s are still with the Czech Republic in Nigerian colours
I am sure that the money budgeted for the remainder of this IBB purchase went down the proverbial rat hole

The Czechs has offered to upgrade them for us or for us to swap em out for more up to date planes.

Yet they remain there collecting dust while the entire northern border with niger is on the verge of collapsing.
