pls I need advice on this before I go ahead and make payment

There's this land I want to get in a developing area in Osun state, after concluding the price with the family I was told the document I would be given is just a receipt.

my question goes thus:
1. is that the only document I should receive?
2. if not what are the documents am supposed to collect from the family?
3. if am not given a survey of the land by the family how do I know it's not a govt land?
4. a Powerline is close to the area, what's the govt required distance to leave from a Powerline to the said land?

I have paid in full since last year I made the payment within 2weeks but they finding it hard to allocate the land to me...last month I hire a lawyer to help me file for refund if they can give me my land,they reluctantly reply my lawyer after series of phone calls they started begging we should give them 2weeks after 2weeks they are saying they can't allocate the land to me because they are looking for more customer so they can allocate in mass....now am sick and tired of this incompetent fools...am involving police by next week plz is it advisable...

Though I don't know the company you buy from. There some Estate you get allocation instantly once you balance all required payments.

Sometimes, some of the companies do wait till they have large number of subscribers before they do mass allocation, but in your own situation I don't know what really happened.

If the company you bought from has track records of credibility, not that I'm trying to prevent you from being proactive, tell them to give you paper allocation from the Estate you bought from.

As soon as they do physical allocation, your own portion has been secured already via that paper allocation and you're good to go.
