Mamas, my one year old has refused all her cereals and baby food for two weeks now, she only eats normal food like rice, swallow, beans, pasta noodles, tea and some snacks. Planning her meals has become more challenging, I need help ideas on meals I can make for her abeg. Thanks

U should be happy about that unless she is having difficulty while stooling. My 10months old baby prefers cooked food to cereals. I noticed that he always finds it difficult to poo poo nd I resolved to blending the food for him nd his really enjoying it that way plus his poo is OK now.

Evening mamas,

Pls don't say my question is irrelevant, I assume some mamas have had the issue before.

I know that it's written on baby's formula that the content should be discarded after 4 weeks of opening but I'm really wondering if the content can be used by someone else not necessarily baby especially in a situation where it's still practically full after 4 weeks.

For example, if I drink/lick it, would it affect baby or what if an older child makes use of it? Is it that the formula gets spoilt or it's just no longer at premium quality for a baby?

My ijebu side is asking so I can determine what size of formula to buy. I give my lo formula once or twice in a day so I'm concerned about what if it remains or I should increase his intake to avoid waste.?
ehnn.. I didn't know this oh.. shocked I just confirmed by checking the body now. I feed my baby formula once a day, sometimes zero and just pure BM. Hence, it can last up to 6 or 7 weeks, and the taste remains the same, neither did she react in anyway.

But prevention is better than cure, I guess I have to increase the intake henceforth so it finishes within a month..

Good morning house
I'm kind of bothered about immunisations for babies. My princess is 3wks and she was given BCG and Hepatitis the 2nd day of birth. Next appointment is July 1st.

Mamas that have gone through the immunisation processes, could you kindly draw up a list of the immunisations and the times to be taken please. I really want to have a knowledge of this for follow ups on my own.
Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks mamas for your responses on the above topic, God bless you.
We've taken the 6weeks shots on Tuesday17th except for Rota1.
We now have a proper immunization schedule card and satisfied with service delivery at the new place though time consuming(Gen Hosp. ish).

How do we go about the Rota1 thing? Where can we get it please?

Most mamas here, myself included got ours at Ambode Health Center at shomolu for free. I got mine at 7weeks, as rota wasnt available at my hospital.

Ambode immunisation days are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Search for ambode health center here, you will see the address and description.

Hmmmmmm mamas I cannot tell you how tired I am of my breast milk. The breast is as flat as bathroom slippers, the milk supply is extremely low but I keep putting baby to breast. I’m tired all the time, my nights are short, I’m seeing some funny rashes on my 2weeks old baby’s face which is annoying me. He doesn’t poo well till I give him gripe water and I don’t want to keep giving him that to help him all the time. What else can I do? My breast can not just be big for nothing.

Good morning I guess you are stress and need rest I learnt stress too makes milk supply low. Also, are you eating well? Why giving baby gripe water if I may ask?

Arrbiegold you're welcome. Ambode health centre if it's convenient is your best bet, otherwise you'll have to pay at a private hospital

Hannydimples first of all breathe... stress is one major thing that will affect your supply, the rash is probably baby acne and will go by itself with time. It's because some of your hormones are still in his body.
Formula feed your baby while you try to get your groove. Drink warm water, hot pap, oats, fresh palmwine and above all eat properly. Put him to breast while supplementing with formula, gradually you'll figure it out then you can reduce or stop the formula

As for pooing stop the gripe water first. If he's formula fed give him water. If he squirms and twists its colic, completely normal and it will go whether you give gripe water or not. Google bicycle kicks and see how to do it for your baby. Make sure you burp him after feeding. You can also search this thread for colic for more experience from moms here

But above all BREATHE! It may seem overwhelming at first but you're going to be a kickass mum. Just take it one thing at a time

Woke up this morning and saw some mosquito bites all over my my baby arms and legs which I suspect must have been trapped in her cot net despite fleeting, hence the multiple bites on her arms and legs. Do I need to take her to Hospital, she doesnt appear uncomfortable though. And how do I clear up these red swelling.. Never seen this kind thing before, its so much. embarassed

I read on this thread just now, some hundreds of pages back here, (I think yr 2013), that it's a waste of time going to the paed to Complain because of mosquito bites. Just need more views. Thanks

@arbbiegold, I don't think it would be late at 8weeks. My hospital didn't have it on our 6weeks and the nurses said my dd can take it on our 10weeks cos it would be available then.

Ok mama, thanks. But is getting it at 8weeks too late? we are7 this week though but I'm so fixed especially on those immunization days.

Lol. No. The swelling will go.

Hopefully she doesn't get malaria, if she presents with symptoms then you can go to the hospital for a test

He won’t have malaria. Most mosquito bite doesn’t lead to malaria and his own maybe too. Just try and check for symptoms like high fever. If you noticed any of this, take him to doctor for blood test.

As for the swelling, if you have original shear butter you can put it.

Good evening mamas..

My princess has been coughing since we came back from the hospital last month. The thing is she coughs basically at the middle of the night till morning but doesn't cough during the day. I gave her cefuroxime last week and it's still persisting. I dunno if I should give take her back there or just leave it since it's just night.
Please any Home remedy for cough?

Since she has old people's tastebuds, She'd probably accept August secrets cereals, with crayfish. Try that if you havent already

After 4 weeks it still pretty much tastes the same so I only stop it for baby and I and my hubby's nieces would take over.

I think some mama prescribe a home remedy back then. From iomoge and Zaynie (Hopefully I am correct)

Mix palm oil and little sugar and give your DD. Once or twice a day.

NB: I haven’t used this before but mamas here have testified that it worked well for their LOs.
