Ratawu: You mean to tell me every online applicant’s background check only started today? Not true. It’s either a general change or a change for those who experienced it, indicative of progress in their application towards the final target. Given all I have seen now, I tend to think it’s a general change. |

jnyuwa02:Check very well, all biometrics have been updated to elapse in 10 years. I did my biometrics early July and the update is applicable to me as well as someone that had his in May |

All biometrics have been updated to elapse in 10 years. I did my biometrics July 19, the same day I submitted my paper application and just few minutes ago , I checked my linked application online and I found this . Biometrics: Biometrics Number: ********* Date of Biometrics Enrolment: 07/19/2018 Expiry Date: 07/19/2028 1 Like |

Ratawu:This is so wrong unless we don't understand what background check actually means. Are you saying that CIC will discard all the checks they've done on people's profile prior to today? Only mode of update changed not the process 1 Like |

Hello guys I sincerely think we should stop misleading people on this platform. If you don't know the reason for the Biometric update today and you don't believe the attachment from CIC website then keep quiet and accept it as general update. 2 Likes |

Bodmillz:Your sponsor is your dad, his' is his uncle(third party) so it's a different case. Though he might be lucky but to be on a safer side the sponsor should go beyond just stating it in his letter of support that he will sponsor him and show more commitment by paying money into the applicant's account or pay his tuition |

MeinKampf: Please you guys should take it easy okay. It's a general update by CIC that applicants are not expected to give their biometrics after 10 years, effective from 31/7/2018. 1 Like |

Ratawu: Good day Mr Ratawu, I don't think your assertion may be right, because it may not have been deduced from any premise. Are you simply saying people's application that have stayed 9weeks that it is today they will start background check? I may be wrong but can you enlighten the house how this could be possible because in this house applicant has been rejected within the same period we are saying so what is the correlation .I see success |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Frankrobbn1: 5:01pm On Jul 31, 2018 |
makano: From my point of view, I think you are suppose to undergo biometrics again. Because the rule says applicants that did biometrics after 31/7/2018 will not have to submit their finger prints till after 10years. Looking closely from your profile, I was baffled to see the biometrics enrollment date being last year (2017) and expiration date as (2027). Inorder not to judge by our assumptions, I'll be very eager to know if you finally did this biometrics of yours at the VFS Office. Keep the house updated on how you went about this. Finally, I don't advise you mail CIC because of this issue at hand. It's not reasonable to do so. 1 Like |

I think its just a general update, and does not guarantee a medical request or an approval. But by HIS grace, it will all end with PRAISE!!! 4 Likes |

Please house, I would like to know what happens if one does not get his trv in time, let say an applicant is to resume on the 5th of September and on the 10 of September his application is still in progress, what will happen? Is it possible to defer to January then contact cic that you have deferred your admission to January and that you have a new LOA.. will they work with that or they will just take their decision base on the Fall admission. |

MeinKampf: And who is talking to people anyhow? Say what you know and leave what you don't know is not a crime. Stop the assumption, I don't think is a bad advice. |

Hello house, Please, I need some clarifications, I got admission to Windsor MSc. Can I use a sponsor who isn't a blood relation? Or what documents proof someone is my cousin? Please help. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Frankrobbn1: 5:25pm On Jul 31, 2018 |
Ratawu:Ratawu, I'll have to disagree with you on this. What have you to say to applicants whose applications have gone past the 9 weeks processing times? That, their applications are starting all over again?. I am sorry to say but sometimes your proclamations here are invalid. I remembered how you once said that paper route application documents are being scanned to the processing office by the VFS workers, thereby leaving some vital documents behind, which you said attributed to the fast refusal on paper route. Advising folks here that Online route is the best route to suit. I further requested to know how you came up with this ideology of yours, you kept mute. I can also remember some time ago, when you announced that the updated IMM5707E family form which excludes adding details of applicant siblings was fake and not the actual form to use for paper route applicants. After series of debate here, you laterly find out that it was an acceptable form to use from IRCC. Please let's be very sure of what we are dishing out here. We should have in mind that this is a public forum and many depend on informations gotten here. 3 Likes |

Hello bro, I'm actually a new bie. I plan to apply for pgd in Canada colleges and M.Sc in US schools. Of course, I know US schools require WES evaluation for M.Sc but I also got to know that some colleges in Canada also require WES evaluation.I am still confused after much findings about one thing. Can I use one evaluation for both country? Thanks for the time Your chances of getting a visa with a PGD are as good as you make it. Try and put up a strong and convincing application. The higher the degree you are going for, the more convincing to a visa officer would be your purpose of visit to Canada. Masters degree students on the average have a higher chance of visa success than PGD, while PHD students have a higher chance than masters degree students. In that regard, I will highly advise you concentrate your effort in looking for a masters program to get into and apply for a visa with a PGd only if you cannot get into a masters program. Yes, it is possible to get admission for January 2019, infact it is the application now open for submission all accross the board in Canada. Best wishes!!
1 Like 1 Share |

DeuxMille:DeuxMille, Yes you can use a Sponspor who isn't a blood relation to you. This sponsor of yours must convince the visa officer beyond reasonable doubt that he/she is financially capable of sponsoring you throughout your stay in Canada. A convincing reason to why he/she is spending so much on you to further your studies abroad while there are available programs offered here in Nigeria, must suffice in your sponsor letter of support. Strong financial commitment towards sponsoring you by paying part or full tuition fees and transferring funds into your personal/dorm account, is very crucial when it comes to third party sponsorship. Sponsor must certify the visa officer that while financing your studies in Canada, that all financial obligations must be meet i.e his/her immediate family members, business, and personal welfare must be taken care of. Evidence of history or ongoing financial support from your sponsor goes a long way to show strong proof of relationship. Furthermore, you can show proof of relationship with cousin by including your father's birth certificates and your sponsor (cousin) father's birth certificates too.. And also your birth certificate and that of your cousin as well. That's if this were to be a paternal cousin... All the best! 2 Likes 2 Shares |

kingfintan: If time for resumption is passed and CIC hasn’t reached a decision on your application, you can defer. By the time they get to acting on your application, if they want to approve you, they will request a new LOA. Best wishes to you! 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mcobex: 6:22pm On Jul 31, 2018 |
kingfintan:The steps to take is as follow: 1. Contact your school and tell them you have applied for your TRV but yet to get a decision from CIC 2. Ask them what's the deadline for resumption? cos some schools give 2 weeks after the official resumption date for students to resume. If by this time you still don't hear from CIC 3. Ask your school about deferring your admission and the next session for you( not all courses have January or May intake), so you school will advise you on that. Hopefully before all this you will hear from CIC 4 Likes 2 Shares |
