I know someone that applied online on June 2. Did biometrics on 6th June and was called to drop his passport on 20th. On 11th July it was ready for pick up. Talk of God's grace and favour.

You didn’t mention his medicals.

What am meant to understand now is it that it's a norm or like usual thing for a typical online application to stay up to 9 weeks without medical call. What could be the % going down Memory Lane for an an online application to stay this long and the outcome because from the look of things June online applicants are wondering what could happen..

No one here has an answer to this... The fact remains that online applications are unpredictable. An online application can stay pass the normal processing times (9weeks) without medical request and still be refused.

Speak to God in prayers and every other thing(VISA) shall be added unto you!

Be careful contacting them too much ooh, you might be tagged a desperado. Hahaha, one Abiodunne guy here too was contacting them so much. They never replied him. The only time he received a reply was an approval mail. Lol.

All applications, online or paperoute are unpredictable period. Both can stay past processing times and still be denied. Both can be quickly denied too if your claims for visa are insubstantial.

AUGUST!! The month in which most 'TRV Choppers' will travel into the giant deep freezer called Canada, and kick-start a new era of their lives. May God grant us all travelling mercies.

Please do well to update the thread about your landing experience and life in Canada. This is what motivates the incoming generation to strive harder.

To all TRV hopefuls, this month shall see the manifestation of your testimonies.

Cheers

Thank you so much, il go for the masters option then and hopefully i get the visa just in time. student visa application takes 2 months right?

jnyuwa02:

Your chances of getting a visa with a PGD are as good as you make it. Try and put up a strong and convincing application. The higher the degree you are going for, the more convincing to a visa officer would be your purpose of visit to Canada. Masters degree students on the average have a higher chance of visa success than PGD, while PHD students have a higher chance than masters degree students. In that regard, I will highly advise you concentrate your effort in looking for a masters program to get into and apply for a visa with a PGd only if you cannot get into a masters program. Yes, it is possible to get admission for January 2019, infact it is the application now open for submission all accross the board in Canada. Best wishes!!

Good morning everybody,

I’m in a dilemma right now. My school Thompson Rivers University has a deadline for showing them that I’ve received my student permit on the 8th August. Unfortunately for me my online application in the CIC website is still stuck on “We are reviewing your Eligibility”.

Should I mail CIC to inquire even though they haven’t yet exceeded the normal processing time? And if I should, which emails should I write to?

Frankrobbn1:

DeuxMille,

Yes you can use a Sponspor who isn't a blood relation to you. This sponsor of yours must convince the visa officer beyond reasonable doubt that he/she is financially capable of sponsoring you throughout your stay in Canada. A convincing reason to why he/she is spending so much on you to further your studies abroad while there are available programs offered here in Nigeria, must suffice in your sponsor letter of support. Strong financial commitment towards sponsoring you by paying part or full tuition fees and transferring funds into your personal/dorm account, is very crucial when it comes to third party sponsorship. Sponsor must certify the visa officer that while financing your studies in Canada, that all financial obligations must be meet i.e his/her immediate family members, business, and personal welfare must be taken care of. Evidence of history or ongoing financial support from your sponsor goes a long way to show strong proof of relationship. Furthermore, you can show proof of relationship with cousin by including your father's birth certificates and your sponsor (cousin) father's birth certificates too.. And also your birth certificate and that of your cousin as well. That's if this were to be a paternal cousin...

All the best!

Thanks a lot , Frankrobbn1, I actually have part of the required funds as personal savings. All I need is a co-sponsor. I want to be the primary sponsor.

Let them know of the school’s policy, perhaps they might hasten the process of your application. Tell them it’s urgent, otherwise you would have waited for the processing time to elapse before contacting them. Use the webform on the Case Specific Enquiry. But why did you wait only 6 days to the deadline to let them know? You should have done so two weeks ago. If there is any silver lining to this, it’s that your review of eligibility has started. It won’t be too prolonged, you should get a decision very soon. You might want to email the school too, explaining that no decision has been reached by the High Commission on your visa application. Beg them for leniency in not cancelling your admission till a decision is made soon by the High Commission.

How old is your application? Please do not message CIC yet as your application has not gone beyond the processing time, even if you did you might not get any response and this can read desperation which might force them to deny you approval. If you have passed medical, the possibility of receiving approval is high, also since they are reviewing your eligibility, decision will be reached in no time. I would advise you message the school that CIC is yet to reach a final decision on your application and that this is beyond your control. You can also attach a screen shot of your online profile to the message.

I hope this helps.

I go with joe10's advice, it's a guided one. Don't mail CIC if your application has not exceeded the normal processing times for Nigerian applicants because if you eventually do so, you won't get a response from them and you might be likely tagged as a desperate applicant. It's more better you mail your school and explain to them that a decision has not been made on your visa application.

hurricanesgrace,

Sorry about the outcome of your application. I won't advice you to quit. Remember the saying goes "Winners never quit, they strive harder for success at all cost".

Never quit. It is the easiest cop-out in the world. Set a goal and don't quit until you attain it. When you do attain it, set another goal, and don't quit until you reach it. Never quit.
You might want to push in another application for the last time. Share your profile and the generic reasons for your refusal. So we can pick it up from there.
