Tell him or her the same thing you just told us. If it available he/she will. Some times you can't get the exact thing you want in the secondary market. You can however, get something a little below or above. What I would have ask them in this situation after letter them know I want to invest in secondary is 'what do you have in the neighbourhood of 200 or 300 days?'

Stock is a high risk yielding asset, Playing with it with 50m is playing with fire, except you can stomach losing 50% of 50m in a twinkle of an eye.

With due respect sir, am just laughing here cos what you don't know you don't know it. If you loose 25m in stocks then you must be a newbie. You must know the entry and exit period. Eg immediately I qualified for dividend on all my stocks I sold all the next day and whatever happens again is story to the gods non of my headache. And I told my people that prices will crash some even made jest of me but today if am still in stocks, I would have lost about 2m cos prices have crashed. So I love stock game so much. If you don't know it, just stick to what you know and your level of appetite for risk. As for me by God grace I do both tb and stocks and if I have 100m today I will put it in stocks at a very good entry price then smiling later.

So happy to see this thread alive. By ds time last year i was making my own enquiries on how to invest. But im happy it was successful with stanbic ibtc with a rate of 13.1 for 91days, 15.2 for 204days and 18.0 for 365 was which i choosed to invest in 365 abd 91days but coming back here now to see the current rate for stanbic is not encouraging.

Which other bank has a higher bid rate.. Pls i will like to know if im gonna reinvest or not..

This is your yield if you invest for 58 days with 8% interest:
First of all, always remember that the quoted interest rate is for an annual basis. So if you invest, say:

100,000 naira - your return (which will be paid upfront) is (58/364 * 8%) * 100,000 = 0.0127 * 100,000 = 1,270

If you invest 1 million naira with the same conditions, you get 12,700 naira, etc

Clearly, this isn’t very interesting return. You are better of investing for a longer tenor period than 58 days, and a higher interest rate than 8% where possible.

Side note: Didn’t know Access Bank had an online portal for tbill purchase. Been using UBA and Stanbic, and I dread the physical visits to write letters for every purchase. May try them out.

If I could conjour the CBN to increase rates to 15/18% I would have done it.......and am sure many of us here too will......like awesomej , feelamong, vitality etc. But it is what it is.....we are all speculating.....and hoping for the best.

Might simply means it wasn't successful as you are debited same day. Reason are likely that before you finished filling of forms the tenor must have been wipe off by another customer in another branch. The tenor comes with limited amounts and within minutes, other customers might prey on it especially if rate was very good. Approach your bank and revert the info to this honorable house. Thanks.

Bought some Tbills with GTBank.. I wanted primary but got secondary market since I did not indicate the rate in my instruction. Re-calculated and glad that I got 11.35% for 203 days. Can't complain. With GTBank, you can defer your interest till maturity, but not sure with Stanbic.

It's always Bone-headed & unintelligent learning from experience when you have the opportunity of leaning from an example...
*N.B* Most of these applications are still on the testing-mode.
Avoid anything that will entice you and later give you high-BP.;, Hence,just proceed with the normalcy manual-process which will give you a trace of all your transaction history in the bank..

It varies by bank. Call your bank and ask.

I have tried it.
Its very legit. After investing your money, you'd have a lock-in period of 30 days, after which an interest of 30% of your ROI would be charged if you make any withdrawal before maturity.
