Do you intend to teach in Nigeria secondary school with this masters degree after your program, my thought that's not career progression and you already have msc, the v.o are aware that teachers in Nigeria are underpaid.
Universities in Nigeria offer this program then why Canada which is more expensive. you have to narrow this mathematics education to you research interest.

Thanks for taking time to read my post.
Well, to answer your questions
1. I dont even intend to return to Naija until maybe i get a life over there
2. I also do not intend to tender my previous MSc too in order not to stare questions in d mind of the VO
3. No Uni offer an extensive course in Naija .NB the course is quite different from a normal Masters degree in Education.
4. I have taken several online certificate course but all are not as detailed as having an MSc (the type im going for)
Àll these are the points i will have to tackle in my SOP.
Apart for purpose of visit , what other obstacle could i experience with the list posted earlier.
How about having sponsorship from the school i work(i could make them do something).
I really need advice please!!

Please is it necessary to sign one's SOP if application is done online, and application form if application is done online too? Or is using the validate button just ok?

Just sign on a piece of paper & scan it with a smartphone to have a digital copy. Then you can paste the resulting JPG image in your SOP Word file. Also if your dad or someone else is sponsoring you make sure you include a letter signed by them too in your SOP.

I hope this helps.
Wishing a nice Weekend to the house.

Your welcome....Gods speed!

Dera12345:
@Dera12345 dear dont compare your application with another's.....Gods Grace upon your life can greatly differ from another persons grace. You can go ahead and apply with a solid application and write a very convincing SOP to the VO to proof your true intensions as per been a genuine student. At the end of it all God alone has the final say over a person's fate in life and successes if he really approves it to be your time and not a canadian VO. Keep up your faith and Pray to God. God bless you dear.

Thanks my dear, I really appreciate.
God bless you too...

Hello: jolowizzy11,

Don't beset by fear of what people say and doom yourself to life of emptiness and secret misery. Once you can account for your study gaps. I see no reason why a visa officer will not issue you a study visa. If your proposed program in Canada is reasonable inlight with computer software engineering your chances of getting an approval is high. Play your role by drafting a rational letter of explanation pointing out your study intent, your academic background, why you wish to further your undergraduate studies in Canada and not Nigeria considering the high cost and difficulty of undertaking a foreign education, how you intend to finance your studies while in Canada, your home ties back home(that can compel your return after studies), the benefits and lucrativeness of undertaking such a program in Canada after graduation, the range career options/prosepcts back home.

At the end, pray and hope you will be favoured by the fickle-fate.

All the best!

henricson,

Online application forms are not meant to be signed. After successful uploading of required documents in their various sections, you will be promoted to use your name as a signature. It's also not compulsory to sign an SOP, but if you wish, you can get a scanned copy of your E-signature and attach it to the letter.

All the best!

TBH it is a challenge if you have study gap of above 5yrs. I have 10 yrs and have been denied twice. I am not giving up because I believe even if it is 1% chance,I will make sure I give it my best shot.

Just get ready for the roller coaster ride and try as hard as u can.

Hello good friends.
I applied to a school for a masters degree in uniRegina and sent the supporting documents by mail. Now they have sent me a mail as below asking to change the formats of the document, please house how do I go about this knowing that some of the documents appear if jpeg form, word, or pdf.

Please scan all documents (transcripts, degree certificates, supplementary items) into a single Black and White PDF file and send as an attachment to an email. Files in other formats (i.e., jpeg, zipped, google docs, etc.) are not acceptable.
Scan the documents in a readable resolution (100dpi and in grey scale).
PDF files should be 3MB or less in size. If you must scan in a lower resolution to ensure all documents are not larger than the limit, please ensure the PDF is still readable.

Hello kpizzle,

I know of an applicant that has study gap above 5 years and he was approved of his visa. I believe you have the home work to work on your SOP.

@ the bolded.. Why resigning from your current place of work, when you haven't secured your TRV? This will certainly be a big blow up to your application as you're indirectly letting the visa officer know that you're using study permit as means to facilitate entry into Canada rather than career/educational advancement.

You might be bounced back based on your purpose of visit. Why do you want to acquire another undergrad degree when you already have one in Nigeria? You should move foward instead of remaining stagnant in your academic pursuit. Show academic progression by applying for graduate program.

Have a re-think bro

dinho10,

Though I am not a visa officer. But, i'll advise you don't push in such application because you will refused based on your purpose of visit. Your study gaps (4 years while at the University), how do you intend to address it to the visa officer? I beseech you save yourself the stress of paying admission application fees, visa fees etc... and go for a degree that is higher than your already completed degree i.e either by opting for a masters or PGD/C as the case maybe.

jolowizzy11,

No one on this window can predict when a Visa will be approved! The normal processing times for Nigerian applicants is 10weeks, but sometimes an application may fall outside this stipulated time because of the number of applications received by the Visa Office.

As said earlier your SOP should reflect the following and should be addressed in each paragraphs to avoid repetition.
1-) Describe your academic background briefly.
2-) The program of choice
3-) The school.
4-) Why Canada choose not Nigeria.
5-) How you intend to finance your studies in Canada without working.
6-) Your home ties
7-) Your future goals/plans and what you intend to achieve at the end of the program and how it might benefit you in the future and your nation as whole.

You can simply web search on the internet, there are many SOP's out there that can give you a clear insight on what you seek. Avoid plagiarism because it's a crime!

I am not suppose to respond to this again but let me just do it so others can learn from it. The 10 years study gap you have isn't a problem cos you have not been idle during that period, you have around 10 years working experience and that's even a plus to you. Go for a course related to your job experience/BSc degree and your visa will be granted.
Cc: @ jolowizzy11 : what have you been doing since graduation from secondary school? NIIT diploma is ok but after acquiring that what have you been doing(working or what)? if you have been busy working(paid or volunteering) then state it. All the vo wants to see is that you have not been idle after your secondary school and diploma

To add to what Frank said, going for 2 years masters qualifies you for 3 years post graduate work permit which will be enough for you to do whatever you want to do.
