This man to me despite all the controversies and allegations against him is the best presidential candidate from the north, he has a well articulated plan of what exactly he wants to do but nigeria is already cursed and populated with evil people who don't like good things. I really doubt if he will be elected given the history of nigerians of always going for the worst presidential candidates.

It seems like since both major parties have zoned their candidature to the north, it would be in the interest of the south for buhari to win coz i dont think any of the pdp candidates would just do 4 years and leave. they would want their 8 years...esp atiku that has been seeking the position for a looong time

yes they have zoned it to the north and idealistically atiku is right , because the arrangement is supposed to be 8 years to the north and 8 years to the south .so if buhari had performed well , it will be in the best interest of the south to let him have the 4 years and take power back in 2023. But goodluck altered that arrangement when he contested in 2011with the support of the north and with the agreement that he will only do one term , because he reneged on that agreement was the major reason why the north voted against him and why Southerner politicians who know the importance of keeping the nation as one and having friends in other regions of the nation worked against him and pdp. if pdp had presented a northerner in 2015 , they would have won easily.
now if another northerner should win the election , it will be 8 years plus buhari 4 years , this is still within limits , considering the fact that obj used 8 years and gej used 4 years .
the problem that may happen will be if the new president meeses up and the north wants to change him again for another new northerner in 2023.

ATIKU would make a good president.doubt it at your own peril. Reasons:He has a blue print for his administration.I could remember when i vied for SUG DOF in school & CDS PRESIDENT during NYSC,I told the electorates to build her confidence in me and equally make MY WORDS MY BOND,but they believed in me and gave me their mandate, to be sincere they never regreted electing me. Atleast we have known PRESIDENT BUHARI'S WORTH upon his too many promises from 2003-2015.let's give ATIKU a trial to prove himself.but remember he was just a VP and didn't command much or no power.Also remember DONALD TRUMP promised to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,American trusted him and gave AMERICA, believe me today,he has fulfilled 90% of of his campaign PROMISES. Please let's not give NIGERIA to BUHARI the second time, if not we would live to reget altogether.This isn't APC or PDP

The man is intellectually sound. Add that to a little dose of good intention. That's all we need for progress for now.
I once said it here that poor education or lack of it is the major cause of insecurity and that governments spend on education not only because they want you to do well in life and contribute to the economy, but also as security a measure.
That's actually an economic theory that has proven to be true (economics students that studied public policies can relate) and I'm happy a presidential aspirant is echoing the same thing.
The man is miles ahead than Buhari in intelligence and knowledge of how things are run.

With the quality of answers atiku gave here,am really tempted to look him up in a different way,he isn't such a bad choice after all,yes he may have soiled his hands somewhat but who better to keep something with than someone who knows that you know he's a thief,your stuff is safe. let's consider other alternatives in 2019,this present administration of president buhari has shown himself as a person that can't articulate his policies to even his subordinates who rely on his body language for direction,the reason for the lack of coordination within his government which has rubbed off on governance generally,we deserve better as a country and that's the bitter truth we must tell ourselves,enough of this tokenism we are getting right now,we need thinkers in power!

atiku is a million times better than buhari mentally ,academically and intellectually. but this is politics and it isnt all the time that the best man wins but the man that holds the interests of the political class , both the elite political class and the masses . honestly if i am a pdp power broker and i have my way . i wont give or support atiku ,i will rather look for a man that needs support and who will agree to do my bidding anytime.
if atiku becomes the president , he will become too powerful to tame ,manipulate or control, he wont take shit from anyone because he knows how the drill is done , but anything can happen , i wont be surprised if the ticket tussle goes to markafi and dankwambo . i think eventually power brokers will have to line up behind these tow men and choose the pdp candidate

I will even take him seriously if there was a provision for independent candidates. That way he could carry his cross and move into the sunset.

As far as I am concerned, At ik u is an independent candidate. He has no party. He is deceivng himself if he thinks PDP will give him the ticket. Even in APC Kwankwaso floored him. LA mi do, Makarfi, Donald Duke, Dankwambo and co will be there in the night of long knives.

Except if there is anything called joint candidacy.....which I doubt.

I am afraid PDP may not be able to manage the fall out of that primary and it is not good for the polity.

People, I am voting for Atiku for the singular reason that he's a successful business man and he's the highest job creator after the Federal Government. He's a very successful business man.

He's also the only candidate that talks about restructuring.

He can divide votes in the North and get votes down south.

He's very liberal and has acceptance and popularity down South.

He also has the money to match the FG and isn't necessary going there for the monetary gains but for making Nigeria great and for making a name for himself and proving his critics wrong.

The mistake he, kwankwaso and others alike have made is that they allowed themselves to be fooled by praises from the other side. They should have waited patiently for Buhari to finish his second term before seeking election into his office..
