Cleanliness is individualistic; what a man may see as cleanliness, another man may see as uncleanliness. Eg. Some people prefer their their offices scattered because they easily locate their stuff.

Cleanliness is ambiguous; There is no criterion for lineating cleanliness; one may see manual breaking of a fowl's neck before cooking it as being clean (eg. the Religions), while others may see it as unclean and rather prefers slitting a fowl's throat in order to allow the blood drip into the earth (eg. Christians). Some people prefer grooming their hair or beards without trimming while some others prefer shaving it.
Cleanliness varies with circumstances and due to its ambiguity, one cannot with certainty, unequivocally limit cleanliness to a particular situation.

It is your personal criterion for cleanliness but it isn't the man's own. And the woman prefers it that way. Your view of cleanliness cannot directly or indirectly affect him/them.
