I have been privileged to live and visit different countries and cities, and I am in a good position to compare; D

Nigeria is too chaotic to enjoy anything

Where I live presently, I don't have to deal with generator noise, I move freely without fear, I can drive around without Sars labelling me a criminal and extorting me, I also have my peace of mind, and many recreational things I can do.


The little things of life, plus peace of mind is worth more to me than a pile of money in Nigeria living behind high walls and being in constant fear of too many things.


You guys don't know how bad it is till you spend ENOUGH time out there, then returning to Nigeria


Then you will see the difference is as clear as seven up


Now tell me, what things do you "enjoy" being domiciled in Nigeria with a lot of ' money?

So u telling me america is so safe, so corruption free, DAT the chances of a person white or black walking down an america street without being shoot at by a deranged person who will end up doing about 2-4 yrs in jail is so low DAT it proves American streets are safer than Nigerian streets...

You don't know me and it's very unintelligent to make assumptions about someone based on faceless posts on an anonymous online forum. My assertion is that everyone is entitled to their individual choices in life. If you have enough money you can be a global citizen and your location no longer matters. This same Nigeria that you are bad mouthing, I know a white British hospital executive who told me personally that he loves this country so much he has decided he will die here.

I'm not saying people must stay in Nigeria. All I'm saying is that traveling abroad does not automatically mean that one's life will be better. If you can afford to go and school or work in the US directly from naija you are probably an upper middle class person already. Poor people cannot do that. Sadly the US has since eliminated the visa lottery option for Nigerians. They say we are too many there already.

Im not bad mouthing anything here my friend. Im stating facts. Dont compare the average Nigerian with a foreign expat who probably doesnt have to worry where his next meal will come from, has niggerians falling over themselves to please him. For him he is living the life he cant live in his home country. Over here he is treated like a demi god by people who should know better. which time did they eliminate the visa lottery option? A colleague i knew in school just travelled to the US in 2015. He claimed he won a visa lottery. From the pics he posts on facebook he's actually in the US.

He must have been in the final batch allowed to apply from Nigeria. Since 2015 Nigeria has been excluded from the US visa lottery.

Actually the World Bank rated Nigeria as the country having the highest proportion of poor people in the world overtaking India. So yes Nigeria is the country with the most poverty in the world, but the irony is that Nigeria is not a poor country! You are still looking at society instead of individuals. For example, why would you compare yourself with the people queuing for onions and pepper instead of to the politician? The mentality of most Nigerians is rooted in dependency and begging instead of in opportunities and ideas. Those who know how to take advantage will thrive and prosper while those who do not will keep looking for how to escape. Nigeria is good if you know what to do.

Do you even mind these dudes. Like I said before. The kind of people you hang around will determine the way you see things.

No be Nigeria my chairman dey and is raking in billions. Has a tank farm worth over 25 billion Naira. He is not owing any bank. Called yesterday that has arrived Canada for vacation to be back in Nigeria late August. left Nigeria last week for Europe first. I have not seen a man as disciplined as him. Very smart. Doesn't sleep around. Very responsible. And he came from a very poor background.

A close relative of mine, came to Lagos with a Marlboro bag, very smart, had First Class . Came from a very retched home. Today lives in banana island. Did executive training in Harvard University. Travels around the world. Has clients with very rich Arabs from uae who invest there money around the world.

Most of these folks will come here and be crying wolf while some other men from retched homes are making it in a legit way in this nation. It all depends on what you see.
