Good day nairalanders, I just need to be convinced more that I'm either walking a danger lane or not.
My boyfriend has a child which I'm aware about and he claims never to have been married to the baby mama. He visits the child every week and even pay her rent but it doesn't bother me but lately I had this feeling to probe further. I searched and found pictures of him, the lady and the son together at different events and occasions. I searched more and found the said lady goes by the name MRS lagbaja (my boyfriends name).
From the look of things, he lives a bachelor life here and lives a family life there.

I've not confronted him as I need to be sure I'm not just being paranoid.
I am a very independent woman and this scares me because I don't want to build anything with someone else's 'property'.. Please I need matured input, thank you

Madam, your boyfriend might be married or attached to his baby mama, your instinct is right, if not, you wouldn't have been seeing their pictures together! Don't be deceived by sweet words!

Before further action, make sure you ask him questions and do further investigation.

I once read a book, called"there was a country".you once had a boyfriend...tell yourself that it's over.that is the only way you can move on...next time isolate somewhere, before you gain access.

You people act like these things are new.

He might be attached to that lady because of the child they have together and you should appreciate him for being a responsible father.

Not everyone marries or loves their baby mamas(Ask Oritsefemi. He has 3 baby mamas but married another woman).

If he loves and care about you there is nothing to be worried about. Continue in your relationship and stop listening to petty gossips.

A lady has my baby but she's not my type of woman. I am still on the look out for my ideal lady, tho I ensure she and her baby get all the financial needs they want according to my best ability.

If she goes by MRS/your bf's name, then they're married. Some men are good at leading double lives. Listen to your instincts.

OP, try this. If he's just friends with his baby mama, having you meet her and their child (to introduce you as his woman) should be no problem. If he refuses, you've got your answer.

Well, since you're aware of his situation, you should try and forge a cordial relationship with the child and the baby mama... things will become more transparent. cool

Going by a Mrs so-and-so mean nothing madam. You know how women like to be territorial.

Some oloshos even name their babies after any rich maga they feel they can tie down with pregnancy or pass pregnancy to.

You've not seen girlfriends calling themselves Mrs boyfriends' last name.

You know the Nigerian mentality where women think they are automatically your wife when they have a baby for you.

Means nothing madam.

then the lady should insist on a meeting the babymama herself before she wastes her time with someone's husband.

There's no need for that.

She should continue with her relationship and stop bothering herself over nothing.

If the guy truly loves her there is nothing to worry about.

It means nothing for a baby mama to be calling herself Mrs. [insert baby daddy's name/last name here] when they're not married? I don't know anyone who's dumb enough to be doing such. It's like Sophia Momodu calling herself Mrs. Adeleke or Mrs. Davido when we all know they've both moved on. She would either be mentally unstable at that point or has suddenly become infatuated with Davido, but I think she has sense to not embarrass herself like that.

I'm guessing this must be an allusion to your own baby mama situation: "a lady has your baby but she's not your type of woman". When you were sleeping with her, it didn't occur to you that she isn't your type of woman, but it's after knocking her up that you've suddenly come to that realization, abi?

from your post, looks like you live in abuja. This is what some people do. Especially if the girl is very independent. the bitter truth is that you do not have a boyfriend but a married friend. if you pay the rent of your baby mama that is fine but going to events together!!!! hmmmm... just walk away don't ask him anything cos he will tell you what you want to hear.
