No reason oo. I was the one that advised him to use IQAS after I read what you wrote. You think ICES is better? Please I need your candid opinion. Thank you.

If the institution that issued the MBA cert is not a Nigerian institution, use WES and you wont need to evaluate your WAEC/NECO but if otherwise use ICES.

IQAS is shit right now. It takes them weeks to open your transcript after receiving it, plus another 12 weeks or more.

If you use ICES, you can ask the institution to send your transcript via their official email, to save cost and time. The only drawback here is that ICES report is ONLY hardcopy and must be sent by post which costs about CAD$75.

They will just go straight to his house using his application details and unfortunately, he may be deported.

If he doesnt leave the UK, then he can forget about going to Canada. PCC is a must for EE.

Thanks a lot. Will go with ICES.

In the US, unlawful presence itself, such as overstaying a visa, is not a criminal offense, but only a civil ground of inadmissibility. However, in the UK where your friend currently resides, overstaying one's visa is a criminal offence at any time and it is crucial for "overstayers" to seek immediate legal advice. There are serious consequences for overstaying your visa in the UK.

Since this is the case, your friend's UK-PCC might likely return unfavorable especially now that his overstay stretches back to 3 long years. I am not certain about this but from what the UK law says, he could likely have questions to answer with the home office and maybe the police.

Thanks bro. It will be difficult for him to go ahead

Thanks for this i didn't have any legal backing to my comment on this but they told me to go and research further. if his friend requests from the UK I'm pretty sure he might get deported as this might cause them to do a search on him. He should decide on what's best for him.

Hello guys,

Also please whenever we see a long post, like PPR announcement posts, we don’t need to quote the whole long post, we can cut out (delete) major parts of the post and quote maybe just the first paragraph, as this will not only make the thread look tidy but it will also help with the thread not running too fast in my opinion.

Cheers

Thank you for your post. Contrary to unpopular belief, long posts don't make the thread move faster, they only make the thread untidy. Each page on NL takes 32 posts regardless of the length of individual posts. So please people, let's keep it tidy here.

Hello my e-fam,

Please I'm seeking advice for a friend who got her Masters degree from Edinburgh University in Scotland.

While creating her profile on the WES site, I see - "If you have completed less than one year full-time, post-secondary study, WES recommends that you also include your secondary education credential."

It says "less than one year full-time". Just to clearly understand this, does this mean she has to submit WAEC despite the fact that her country of education is Scotland?

Please advise. Thanks.

I doubt if she has to submit... I did my masters St the University of Aberdeen and I only sent my transcript. I advise she go to Wes website so she can know what document she's required to send.

Good one, boss.

Went there today for my wife's WAEC results confirmation. Got there by after 2pm, but was not attended to. I did the affidavit though and asked the receptionist a few questions. See her responses below:

Consultation time: 9am - 1pm Mon - Fri
Processing time: 5 - 7 days
Verification by WES: Yes
Time taken to respond to verification: Doesn't know
Zonal or branch WAEC offices confirmation can be done for those outside Lagos: Confirmation of results only done there at the National Office at Jibowo.

NB: You can choose to send by post or courier.
Took a snap of the requirements. See below. Sorry it is a bit blurry. It is the same as listed by @darlingdadon below.

darlingdadon:

Kindly read through for those having worries on how to go about getting their WAEC results Verification as required by WES.

you get sense. but i suggest he should use an address outside the uk
COPR:

The first step your friend should take is to apply for UK PCC.

The content of the PCC will tell him if overstaying in the UK would affect his Canada journey or not.

You see all these European countries are not straightforward. Na xo dey will talk, enter there first you will be hearing stories. One thing I am sure of is that the number of foreign graduates that studied in Germany, is enough to fill whatever space they have. Instead of them to give them job, they will be requesting for Language skills.
am telling you, they will now force you to pronounce w as v and vice-versa

Your friend overstayed in the UK and now wants to get out? That depends on how long he has overstayed (less than 90 days have little or no consequences) or reasons for his overstay (medical, visa extension etc) https://www.freemovement.org.uk/overstaying-applying-leave/
To answer your question, we both know that this "your friend" has overstayed more than 90 days and he has no genuine reasons (other than economic reason) for doing so. This is a flagrant abuse of a previous immigration rules in another country which must be disclosed in travel history. Your friend cannot eat his cake and have it. He/she should return to Nigeria before submitting ITA. I believe the overstay could be overlooked if he returns and apply from Nigeria. By the way, what's he overstaying for in the UK, running like a cockroach, collecting payments by cash with employers undercutting him every now and then because they know he can't go to the police. He has no access to social services, even his bank account can be frozen at anytime so he's probably keeping money under the bed. If I were him I'll be home since tay tay.
wait who hacked this moniker

Bros, I feel you. My situation is close to yours.

I decided to go with the spouse un-accompanying route before and was hoping to get my WES ECA next week and enter the pool. Recently decided to encourage my wife on her ielts and work on her ECA. It has to be a family decision.

It is more or less a binary decision.

1. Enter the pool as unaccompanying. (Hopefully) get ITA. Get POF for the whole family, do medicals together and get PCC for both of you. Get PPR, land, meet the pre-conditions, apply for spousal sponsorship, wait for the 12 months processing time, (maybe) travel back and back for the period, get the sponsorship accepted and be re-united.

2. Encourage her on ielts and start the ECA. If her birthday is still later in the year, she could be the PA. Enter the pool.

Pray, discuss with her and may God direct your steps.

BABSFREY:
Dear All,

Thank you for the good work. I have been following this thread with keen interest and it has been helpful to me in my preparations.

I first did the IELTS in 2015. I got a decent overall band level of 8.0, but my listening was only 7.0, with the others as R - 8.5, S - 8.5, W - 7.0

I lost interest after that because my score was around 382. Fast forward and precisely 3 years later, motivated by my spouse, I sat for IELTS again. This time too, my overall band level is 8.0, but with much improved score in listening of 8.5, with the others as R - 9.0, S - 8.0, W - 7.0

Only yesterday, I tried creating an EE profile and realized that my CRS is 440, without my spouse as accompanying dependent. If she is to accompany me, it drops my score far lower, to 416, because she is yet to do the WES and also take the English test.

What do you advise? Should I wait until she does her WES and IELTS?

My thoughts - I do think that since the last draw closed at 440, it is better that I take my chance now, before the CRS inches higher!

I will appreciate your thoughts.

Thank you.

Evening people of God. I moved my POF from foreign account to naija account, while still maintaining the required POF.

Should I inform IRCC about this move or until they request for it?
My own line of thought is that ircc aslee you to provide the bank letter for ALL accounts you hold. So if you choose to submit just relevant accounts to your PR then that's fine but I dont think it is wise to move your POF out of the list of accounts you provided IRCC.
But if it is the naija account was part of the accounts submitted then there is no wahala....if not I suggest you move it to a financial institution that u included in your application.

Put a call across to them at 9am canadian time. Else their quota for the day gets filled on time(personal experience).
