Just reading about this now and found it funny. Why use high end components and end up with low quality casing? Why shift away from the usual metal body casing? undecided These phone makers are something else! Read more here https://www.theverge.com/2018/8/22/17760932/xiaomi-pocophone-f1-low-price-high-end-processor

How much you want the price to be if they use metal casing. They took a cut back to get that price
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by bigtt76(f): 4:40pm On Aug 22, 2018
Global Version means the phone can be used anywhere in the World. Global Rom means the phone was originally manufactured for the local Chinese market but slightly modified with the Global Rom to make it adaptable to some parts of the World hence its not having all the bands. Though it can be used in Nigeria, it might not work outside say in the US etc.

IKON360:

ahh na wa o. I thought global version and global rom were the same. For instance, a phone made in China that has global rom is functional in Nigeria. Isn't it? So which one now is global version and global rom? Abeg sorry but please explain

I understand but why waste money on the processor and dress it with a low quality casing? I guess the strategy is to make sure you buy more of it at a low cost than less of it at a high cost. undecided

I once use a leeco le s3 which has a better processor and overall performance than any phone tecno or inifinix has ever produced. Me personally can never use any MTK phone again (unless the over-heating and lagging issue is resolved). SGD 625 is serving and I'm loving it jejeli

I just deleted my second space and it reduced the Other Folder size drastically except for my Olive Tree Bible backup which synced because I got lots of annotations on it. An audit I did summing up the numbers actually showed my phone was not hiding any large files

You guys can't just do without mentioning tecno on your thread. Tecno beats your kiniko phone anytime, any day. Una phone wey dem no fit repair when e crash, that one na phone?

This is where you got it wrong. Why must my phone crash or just acting funny after a while? Yes, phone can act up anytime but it has to be very limited per brand? Then why will be I be spending money for repairs even when am on warrantywhen a phone is solidly built e? A phone that you still buy a tampered glass to protect, and fall down just on mat and not only do the screen broke but also the digitiser, is that one a phone? And after repair it will be acting up by it self, na phone be that? A Tecno phone a friend bought recently is still undergoing useless repairs up and down just by falling down once. She is still very bitter because of internal damages the phone has Yet they kept on demanding for money in tecno repair centre.
My Xiaomi I am using has fallen twice on bathroom slabs and once in my room and when I thought it is over, not even tampered glass broken. That's one of the major difference.

Not premium quality in looks undecided but its ok though for those who prefer using it. Afterall, all my previous phones had been plastics. My RN5 is the second metal bodied phone I'm using (my first being the UMI Iron which is still up and running except that its Android 5.1 grin).

I have an Infinix Note 2 phone that has fallen down several times with the tempered glass broken but not the screen. Only issue now is that the navigation bars are no longer working. Seem the lower end of the screen is dead. Still works though buh ....could be better.

That's some of the issues that some other phone users like Tecno will not believe, if to say, it can be repaired in their stores without creating more problems, it's better. Some of these phones will start misbehaving after initial repairs. My former Gionee phone will just be dialing and texting by itself, very strange. I would want to text a message, it would auto text strange things. All these started when initial fall and repairs. I thought demon has taken over my phone.
I think it has to do with the strength of hardwares.
May be you can change the digitizer.

They wanted to keep the retail price down.

What best way do you create a flagship killer that can perform like a true flagship but won't cost an arm & a leg?

So the solution was to take function over form i.e. flagship internals but without the amoled screen & glass/metal back (which is usually hidden under a case anyway) thereby reducing production cost. The result is the Pocophone F1.

So everybody comes out happy except the competition of course.

You have a point to be fair.
Huawei Honor Play is actually pretty and it's still similar price.

But, I doubt anyone would complain about the casing when he has the latest speed demon in his hand for 100k. grin

Your question got me thinking. How many Samsung & Apple flagship phone users e.g. those with the beautiful glass backs truly use their devices na.ked in all their glory without wrapping them with one ugly pouch or phone case?

So am sure you'll agree people are actually paying for what they don't really need. Coz after the euphoria of having a new smartphone, bragging rights & showing it off to your peeps etc wears off you'll most likely put it in a case.

Exactly, have no problem with the polycarbonate case. People are just nitpicking, for the price it's a killer. 90 in 100 people slap a case on their phones and no qualms. They have official skins for the phone, hopefully that find it's way to alixpress.

And your xiaomi thats always having screen problem is on gsmarena abi? my guy, better reason am well. Tecno offers more quality than you can imagine. the issue with you guys is that you buy fake phones and you later accuse the brand as a fake brand. Get your original and quality Tecno phones at designated dealer shops.

Yes we know...bye.
