Hello house, is there a limit to how much cash one can travel with? Can I take like $20k cash? Does the Nigeria Immigration check at the airport?

Hello house, is there a limit to how much cash one can travel with? Can I take like $20k cash? Does the Nigeria Immigration check at the airport?

Nigeria's Currency Export Regulations (Official):
For all residents: local currency (Nigerian Naira-NGN): up to NGN 5,000.- in banknotes. Foreign currencies: up to USD 5,000.-. Exceeding amounts must be declared upon departure. Non-residents: local currency: up to NGN 5,000.- in banknotes, provided declared upon departure. foreign currencies: up to the amounts imported and declared on arrival.

Nigeria's Currency Export Regulations (Reality):
Once you 'settle' immigration, you can travel with any amount you like. You only have the currency import regulation of the country to which you are carrying the money, to contend with.

Nigerian Immigration will not ordinarily pat you down to search for excess cash except someone has snitched on you or you foolishly advertised your plenty cash at the airport. wink However, they will usually ask you and even check your passport to see if you collected PTA. If you declared the cash yourself, you can attempt to negotiate a settlement for them to allow you board. Don't be fooled, no matter your British accent, you must drop something. grin. However, if you did not declare the cash and they discovered it themselves shocked You only have your village people to blame. Be prepared to go through the drama of them seizing the cash, threatening you with money laundering charges and if you are not cooperating, they can delay your boarding until you miss the flight, or commence cooperation, whichever comes first. grin

Do you, SOMIE4, do solemnly swear, to take 'the company' as your own sister, to be nice to her, to allow her privacy, not to attempt to turn her to a housemaid or errand girl despite her similar condition, to engage only in civil conversation with her, to support her, and to generally treat her with dignity and respect, in morning sickness and swollen feet, in doctor's appointment and back pain, until successful baby delivery do you part?

House, pls can someone travel at 5months? Is it too early? Will it cause a problem at the US border considering that I will still declare that I came for child birth. I don't know if they ask how many months one is far gone
Your thoughts please

The maximum amount of time you can spend in the USA is 6 months. Plan accordingly.

I know about the 6 months rule. That's really not what I'm worried about, I have other concerns as per my original question. At 5months old, my baby is due in 4months time. That still gives me extra 2 months before my time is up.

You should be more concerned about your response to the question: so why are you in the US today and how long are you here for?
Isn't better to have more than 2months after birth that to be short of time.

planning to spend 6 months shows you have no serious ties here in nigeria -no job, no family you need to see within the 6 months . a very RED flag. If I am the POE officer i will even cancel your visa there and then.

Don't make it sound all that bad, we went thru Abuja airport two weeks ago with about $12k and the immigration guys there were all so kind and made us do the proper thing then wished us a safe trip. Just saying

Of course, always declare your money. It saves you a whole lot of stress. It's not a crime to take money to the US but be sure to declare it when it's more than $9,999.

To the best of my knowledge I have never been stamped out of the US for the many times I have gone there. Before now you would drop the stub from your I90 card with the airline who in turn hands off it to the authorities .
this time the boarding manifest is what is used to know you are out.
You all good.

Hello All.

Pls can u advise on the best seat to pick on d plane when travelling out with a 4 year old toddler?

Also essentials to pack for hand luggage both for preggy and toddler.

Finally, I was told that I could nli pack either a car seat or stroller for the toddler and not both as they both count as part of d 2 luggages she is entitled to. Thot stroller was usually packed for free to be colected at the entrance of d plane? They said thats for an infant not toddler. Which is more important to take btwn both of them? I hear some cabs wont allow u in their car without car seat for a toddler.

Hi guys.

Please I've tried sending a mail to oa@nigeriaimmigration.gov.ng for visa on arrival but it keeps bouncing back saying recipient's mailbox is full.

Does anyone have a contact I can call directly? It's urgent please

I think its because of holiday or network.
