Later on when Xiaomi eventually released the Global rom for such devices, the need to differentiate Global rom and Shop rom became more imperative. Recently Xiaomi has expanded and also now release phones with Global rom out of the box ( with additional LTE bands of course for such markets), hence the need for a proper naming to differentiate it from others; the GLOBAL VERSION moniker is an appropriate choice here . This epistle too long jare, I know of some peeps who are still stuck on Miui 6 because of some sellers then advertised shop roms as official Global roms simply because they installed Google play store on it. We should all take note of these naming schemes, they can be useful tools for resolving disputes
