Hello everyone! Congrats to my fellow August PPR! Have you guys submitted your Passport to VFS and how long does it take to get the passport and COPR back . I also need information on how to get an affordable flight from Nigeria to Toronto. I intend traveling last week of September or 1st week of October.

Ethiopia airline is the best bet for you to Toronto. My mum and daughter used it in the heart of summer in June and both tickets were less than 1M.
You can also try Turkish airline. They had the cheapest one way ticket when I used them but about 9 hours transit time in Istanbul.

Trust me, you can learn and write French in few months if you put your mind to it. My cousin did same to earn more points and he is Canada now.

Try Alliance Francaise. When I called, they said they have a class starting on the 17th of september.
Weekday Classes : Mon - Fri : 9am -1:40pm...Sat classes start by 9:30am
They actually have 6levels and it takes 6 weeks to complete a level.
Level 1 costs = 50k
Level 2 costs = 50k
Level 3 costs = 56k etc.
The good thing is you don't have to do all the levels..you can do 2 levels or 3 then write TEF since you need to make CLB4 to get the golden points you desire (I am assuming IELTS is your first language exam). You could also get a private tutor from them but you would be paying 5k per hour. If you decide to use Alliance Francaise, ensure you visit them with your ATM card to make payments via POS and 3 passport photographs.

You could also try Lextorah at Yaba.
Tuition is 68k
They offer TEF exam preparation courses...according to them you will be given certain practice examinations at least 3times before you write TEF

Search google for Lepointdufle - for practice questions
Download Duolingo and Hellotalk and practice with them.

If you do this, you will be fine.

Thanks boss
How much does it cost to write TEF?
How long will it take me on the average to learn all that??
There's no time

I have bsc accounting..been thinking of what 1 year program I can run,so that I will add the cert to my bsc n evaluate....(MSC are mostly 2 years n that could take time cos I can't resign my job now)...pls family any suggestion..

However,I have an associate member certificate of Chartered Institute of Customer Relationship Management (CICRM, a professional body)..I wrote 5 papers in exam cos I got exemptions.. I can go and get the exam transcript if needed...pls who knows if this can be evaluated with my bsc as 2 or more certificates

If no one on the forum has evaluated this CICRM, you can’t know until you try it yourself. However since you have a Bsc Accounting, you can easily do ACCA F5-F9. The resulting diploma will definitely qualify you for two or more degrees.

Apologies for the late reply.

It was a "To Whom it may concern " letter, stating when I joined the company and the position I'm currently holding. Didn't state roles and responsibilities. It was actually meant for another company but I just used it for my application.... NB: I also THINK that if your company has online presence and a reachable HR it's easier.

In addition the customers that write testimonials for him should be traceable to his statement of account. He should use PDF highlighter (or just marker before scanning) to highlight their names on his bank statement and state in the LOE that these are payments from the customers who wrote on his behalf.

This bank statement and LOE should be part of his work experience documents. The proof of fund statement/bank letter or deposit advice is a separate matter. We are just using excerpts from the bank statement to proove that this was paid employment.

*Emerges from submarine mode. Looks left, then right. Sees no sign of fighting. Raises head to ask question*

Good morning the people of Nairaland!! So it arrived like a thief in the night..

No no not PPR. My second GCMS notes, grin bringing with it more questions than answers. But notbefore there was drama in the BoboXIV household.

So the misuss has Fwded the notes to me earlier this morning and as I was reviewing I get a message from her

Her: *Calls me by my full government name, including middle name o*, Eeeeeh, you have finished me!

Me: What ? What happened? Are you okay? What

(In my mind I’m thinking my enemies have spoilt my name and photoshopped nudes or brought an illegitimate child to the house )

Her: These people are saying there is a need for interview for my NOC ooo! That NOC that you “gave” me!

Me: Mmmsew!! Is that it? It’s nothing jo. On Nairaland we dey see am every other day

Her: Ah okay, if Nairaland says so, then it must be okay

*************

Ehen, now that I have used style to calm the missus down ehn, let me now tell the truth.

I dey worry o! Okay not really worry sha but just need some clarifications so that I can go eat breakfast in peace.

So the notes said something to the effect that her job description/reference didn’t show she was a manager. So an interview was needed. This is after at least 2 other reviews on the same GCMS notes said, her reference was consistent with lead statement and other job description line items for her NOC.

1. This comment was as far back as June 8th but we havent gotten any invitation to come for an interview since then. Is this normal? There’s probably a couple of ppl who had to go do interviews in Accra, would you be able to confirm how it all panned out? I think I also read some cases where the interview was later cancelled?

2. It looks like the file was transferred to Accra Visa Office from London. It says Primary Office Accra, Secondary Office: London. I need to check the first notes again but I think I recall that it was definitely LVO then as primary) Is this also a thing? Moving applications across offices?

3. The status also says Security: Not Started for both of us and for Info sharing, mine is complete and hers in progress. We find this a bit odd though cos her travel history dey learn next to mine? Is the Security not started thing an issue though a few things I’ve seen indicate otherwise.

4. We are now 6 months post AOR (21st Feb) and seeing as last action was 7-8 weeks ago, I’d like to start calling them. Yay or Nay? And if Yay, what’s best way to do this. Am I calling Accra or London or CIC in Canada?

I was so hoping this thing would have been sorted this month. I no wan pay school fees again jare. Na Ticket money be that cool

Hopeful for some feedback from anyone who has had similar experiences or knowledge

Thanks a lot!

I appreciate your response. This clearly shows that the whole process is not in plain black and white after all, the VO also uses their discretion rather than simply follow a rule book. I'll keep my application simple and not find what's not lost

There’s an exam session every quarter. If you start preparing now, you can write 3 in December 18 and 2 in March 2019. Result will be out in April 2019 and if all is well you will have your two or more degrees by then.

You can decide to write ACCA since you are an accounting graduate. Do not take exemptions and write Acca FIA exams to obtain a diploma.
Writing F5 to F9 papers may not be as easy as it seems.

Hello you,
It usually takes 3-4 weeks to get it back judging from people's experiences in the group. Ethiopian airline seems to be the cheapest so far; especially on Thursdays. You can also compare the prices using Jumia travel, travelstart, skyscanner and wakanow.
Congrats

Oga submarine, now is the time you need to jettison that your submarine oo. I am no expert but below are my little contributions.

1) Seems the officer who reviewed at LVO has seen the need for further verifications, hence the issue of interview. Onus is on her to prove or disprove their concerns with regard to NOC...if its possible post the portion of the notes where this is talked about after redacting her details as well as yours.

2) The move to Accra is due to proximity: if/and when the interview will take place. I had earlier posted the link to Accra VO WhatsApp group. You can look it up and join the group.

3) I may be wrong here but security will not start until your Eligibility is passed.

4)Calling Canada will do you no good as your file is not with them. Unfortunately you can't call either Accra nor London as they don't have a number to call, but you can mail them.
