Holy molly,now take this. sometimes in june in Abuja on a Saturday morning,I was jogging when I heard two men having conversations of being broke to the extent they are yet to hold N20,000 naira in cash of their own in 2018! Talk more of people living in remote villages. I will advise u go on your knees to bless God for not allowing you to be in such situation! Except u are born with a silver spoon,most of u on this forum can still remember when u can't even boast of the same N5000 in your account. Even jobless people receive cash from government in foreign countries..

1. Some educated Nigerians are dying to get to Canada because you get about 500CAD per child per month if you are unemployed or underemployed and have children.

Check the pictures those are rural areas with a relatively small economic base. And injection of about 1Million (for 200 recipients) into each those rural economies would advance them in its own way.

Most commenting cannot even part with 200 to the poor.

Good people always appreciate it when they see others doing good. Better put givers appreciate other givers.

This social Investment program as well as the others I listed are the brainchild of the VP and they have already started implementing it NATIONWIDE and there are already over 300k beneficiaries from all over Nigeria.

Poverty was caused by years of mismanagement of our resources.

This gesture of the government which is taking what the rich should have looted and putting it into the hands of the poor shows the commitment this government has to minimize poverty levels

So many good things are happening but d information department of government is not highlighting them.
Citizens who lost their jobs but denied pension in PDP's privatization scam where national assets were sold off to govt sponsors & cronies in deals dat reek of infamy hav either been payrolled or in d process of being payrolled by PTAD to receive monthly Pensions after 13 years of wickedness where OBJ & Atiku received pension but denied these senior citizens their pension.
Imagine receiving pension after 13 years of neglect by successive PDP govts.

Their social security systems are sustainable, their economy is robust and jobs are being created daily. Nigeria is doing this today because the money is awuf as it were (abacha's loot) its almost impossible for someone in those countries to keep collecting the government's hand out for 5 years without getting a job. I'd rather we invest this money on human capital development in the rural areas or devote it to growing msmes (medium and small scale enterprises. .this is just a case of giving someone fish instead of teaching him how to fish
