Thanks, ain't they the same engine?

Same engines, different displacements. C350 does about 50 HP more than C300.

Thanks.. c300 has RWD and 4matic... I know the difference between the two. I want to ask if the maintenance is about the same? Or 4matic has more maintenance issues

Rule of thumb: Avoid all 4Matics. Suspension parts costs up to 3x the price of RWD models, and the RWD is more fun anyway.

Good evening house,i live in Abuja and i am about getting a MB C300 "09. I also noticed the 4matic of C300 &C350 are more in nos on the streets and dealers. even cheaper,if maintanance is higher why is 9 out of every 10Mercedes in Abuja '4matic? Also a friend said the shaft costs about 150k and one could change it 3 times in a year,is this possible?

More as is typically the case with rear vs 4 wheel.

Because when you're talking Mercedes, most of us don't think maintenance. Plus, I'm not driving a car in Nigeria without all/4 wheel drive because of places I might have to go.

As far as shaft, if you're buying crap then sure.

Hello, am based in Benin and right here the average man has this belief that "4matic" is a special or more powerful Benz and therefore superior to others, it just might be the same over there. As for changing the shafts 3 times a year, I seriously doubt that even tibao parts can't be that bad.

Because uninformed idiots think the 4Matic badge means a darn thing; some take it as a class symbol. I guess the ridiculous suspension prices get their brains back in the game quickly.

A C Class Mercedes riding on standard shock absorbers and springs, would be a much wiser choice than a newer E Class with air suspension. Check Edmunds.com to read owner reviews that will help identify the years of Mercedes C Class to avoid, due to known design defects that are well documented.

If you prefer the simplicity and superior reliability of a rear-wheel drive vehicle, then most Japanese cars will be ruled out, but if the drive train configuration is not of particular concern, then any Japanese car will do, since they all look the same to this die-hard Mercedes devotee.

This will be of little interest to new car users, but my stable of vintage cars includes a 1994 Mercedes E420, that has been converted to an E500 by the renowned mechanics at Kazeem Engineering PLC, who removed the puny 4.2 liter V8 engine, and dropped in a robust 5-liter V8 that originally sat in a R129 Mercedes 500SL, after a bare minimum of cutting and welding to relocate engine mounts.

This unassuming Clark Kent car smokes the back tires mercilessly from a standing start, and makes the tires chirp loudly on the road surface, as the transmission shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear, generating righteous G-forces that will put a smile on the face of anyone who loves raw, unbridled, rampaging horsepower. This DIY E500 Merc is my wolf in sheep's clothing, whose performance has raised many an eyebrow, whenever I am forced to gonzo-launch the car in order to establish my authority on the open road.

Yes, it's probably your best bet, since the C Class was facelifted that year. Though, I must add. It's a massive step down from an E Class to a C Class, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If you're not bent on getting a three-pointed star, why not look at other cars?

The 2009 Infiniti G37 is a beast, and will outperform pretty much any non-AMG W204. It was built by Infiniti to copy and challenge the BMW 3-series, and we all know that 3-series>>C Class in terms of driving ability.

Another excellent performance choice is the GS350. RWD, and 300+ HP. It's way more luxurious than the C Class–positioned against the E Class–and also outperforms it, although the C Class may handle slightly better.

A good balance between luxury and performance is the Acura TL with SH-AWD. 286 HP, a distinct design factor, and enough luxury.

Lastly, if you're looking for ultimate luxury, look at the LS460. You won't have as much fun driving it as you would the C Class but it's just wayyyyy more car.

Bro, I am considering buying an Acura TL 05 - 06 as my first personal car. Was considering the 2005 c230 or 2009 toyota corolla but cost in both cases and performance in the case of the corolla seem to be a challenge for me. I have read reviews and watched videos about the Acura TL 05 - 06 and it seems it's a balance between a benz and a lexus in terms of performance, fuel mileage,Interior design and overall cost. What do you think about the Acura TL bro?

Don't buy a 05/06. They had issues with their auto transmissions. 2007+ is fine, though.

The 2007 TL is an excellent car, bonus points if you get a Type S. Enough luxury, performance, and reliability. Power train will easily get to 300K miles without any issues, and the interior build quality will not fall apart--two statements I can't make about the C230.

But sorry ,one more thing. Going through online reviews, one common problem associated with the TL is the transmission failure issue. Whats your take on this? And how much do you think i should budget for this vehicle thanks.

Please, I need your assistance.

I have a 2000 C230 Kompressor (American Sport Edition, W202). A few days ago, I inserted the smart key which sucked in (the regular zip-zap sound) but doesn't turn on ignition to permit starting. I removed the battery head and replaced after about 15 minutes, still didn't turn to start. I had to leave the car parked there till next morning and the smart-key sucked, turned & started. Same issue recurred in the course of the days use which I removed and replaced battery head after 30 minutes whereby I was able to drive the car home. But today, the removal and replacement of battery head hasn't enabled the key turn & start as usual, I now notice the battery indicator on my instrument panel now glows faintly after key removal and clock timeout. The car is lying helpless in my compound.

I need your urgent assistance.

Thanks

Apologies for my digression. I am also a Mercedes Benz enthusiast. I am trying to make a choice between a 2005 mercedes benz c230 or c240 and a 2007 Acura TL Type S like HeavenlyBang advised.

The Type S destroys any non-AMG W203. Except the 06/07 C350, I guess.
