My journey from Jos to Lagos was blissful. I had my interview yesterday the 30th of August. Prior to that day, I couldn't sleep. In fact through out the night, my eyes were wide awake. As early as 4.am, I had dressed up already and journeyed from my place of temporary abode; Surulere to VI. I did not bother much because I was given a ride. I arrived 5.35am, and people had queued up already. Should be no 7 or so on the queue.

................Shortly afterwards, the Legendary Mr. Paulinus arrived. He is indeed the perfect opposite of the word - patience. I observed he loves to be begged...He barked like a king talking to his retinues..... He spoke with an air of finality.

I got screened, and arrived at the ultimate stage. As expected, my adrenaline was not in agreement with me.The embassy rest room, became a sort of pilgrimage for me as I visited it so many times. At last , I mustered courage, and lo and behold... it became my turn. The VO with a blond hair( dyed)

VO: good morning, and kindly shut the door properly please.

Me: good morning ma'am
VO: what's your discipline, and your CGPA
Me: Hmm, I muttered Physics from the University of Jos. As I told her my CGPA, I never knew I was in for big Inquisition.

VO: so that means you graduated with.... okay explain to me the theorem of relativity propounded by Albert E.

Me: I explained with ease and stated the equations as required.
VO: she then smiled and asked me again who invented the light bulb.

Me: I was like what...I muttered the name, and began to explain the theorem of electromagnetic induction propounded by Michael Faraday.

VO: she looked at me again, browsing what I said to her. Smiled....I was about praising you, but you did not write your school address here. She passed my application form to me.What is your means of subsistence?

Me: I got nominated for the KAAD Scholarship, but it has not yet been finalized until I arrive jena.

Vo: she checked for it, and said if it can be used... she left to confirm from her colleague. She came back and asked me if I had any letter that can back this up. That the scholarship starts from when I arrive Germany, but the want the one that starts from here. Any back up letter of final proof can suffice.

Me: at this point, I looked ruffled. I knew what she meant. My desire to get an SL seems like a herculean task. I thought of the young man who sat beside me telling me how he not only blocked, but used the fintiba insurance. I deemed him lucky, and wished I was not in this fate of lack of funds.. In a flash,I saw lack of funds as a crime..... ma'am, I don't know if I can get a backup letter.

VO: she looked at me, and said try and get any even though it is a guarantor form.so that you can send it to us as a backup. She wished it was finalized already. Ok, tell me why this course?

Me: I explained what Medical Photonics entails, she typed slowly. I was elaborate .

VO: where do you see yourself from now, like what will this course do for you?

Me: I gave her three points. She nodded her head in affirmation.

Vo: but why is your name M......

Me: I explained how my mum was childless for a long time before she gave birth to me,and being an ardent Catholic then, she christened me that.

Vo: she then proceeded to ask me if I was the first born, and how many siblings I have. Then she asked of my dad...

Me: he's late.

VO: oh, ehyaa, I am sorry. what year did that happen, and how long?

Me: hmm, I told her, and I was like ......ma'am I don't need self pity , I just need the hand of God over my life.

VO: okay tell me facts about Germany.
Me: I gave her facts, I mean absolute facts......she kept on typing.

VO: how many states does Germany have?
Me: Germany have 16 states.
VO: she nodded slowly and quizzed me randomly....what is the name of the state you are going to?

Me: Thuringia
VO: okay, what is the capital of saxony anhalt.. and what is the capital of lower Saxony?

Me: I gave her the capital as magdeburg, and Hanover respectively, to her amazement. She became tired of quizzing me.We were both tired.I peeped at her computer .

VO: okay, I want you to send the backup as quick as possible. Your scholarship shows you have to be in jena for it to be finalized. But you need to show the one for visa here.Even though it is a guarantor form, just send ( I felt this means SL ) .You need your visa as soon as possible. She continued.... send any to us, if you can get a back up letter from KAAD, then send.Time is short and you need to travel soon, if not you won't meet up. She never knew that the KAAD is of two types. She spoke as if I have it ready, my visa will be out in one week...... Okay, have a nice day.

Me:Thank you ma'am.

Thank u so much, have been following this page a long time and getting a lot of helpful info as well, although no one talks abt whether they served or not and how they got there degree certificate. I'll try the transcript advice although finding an office that will help will be difficult, thanks again, very helpful

You don't need degree certificate either, statement of result will do if that's what your school has to offer for now

Anyone up for interview on Monday?
Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 5 by domfeyer: 8:35pm On Aug 31, 2018
For everything you have make sure they are in three copies each, one original and two other copies(including the ones you did yourself e.g CV)

Write three copies of your motivation letter.

Try and keep every copy under the original, so that when that bitch Paulinus starts shouting you will be able to drop them easily against each other (do this because it will make it very simple and easy for you)

Time for my own transcript

I had my interview yesterday, left my house around 4:30am and arrived 5:10am or thereabout. Paulinus approached us 1 hour later and started shouting that we should go and drop our bags at the car pack, I left and came back luckily to retain my number 4 position, which normally is not allowed. Started the document sorting, which in my opinion is useless according to the sequence Paulinius has in his head.

Number 1 tension
I used my IELTS certificate I got 7 years ago for a biographically old document, but Paulinius wouldnt have that, thank God I came with my Visaless old passport.

Went in to the interview area and was later called out to the entrance, as there were two other VOs there.

Interview started casually.

1. Name of School?
2. Private? Yes
3. How are you paying? Scholarship+student loan+out of pocket
4. BSc? Act. Sci.
5. Intended Msc.? MiM
6. What is the connection? I gave hime
7. Why MiM?
8. Why not Nigeria, UK, USA or Canada?
9. Have you funded? Yes
10.Resumption date? 18th of Sept.
11. Plans after studies? To come back and manage my brother's bus.
12.As what? Manager or Director
13. Tell em about Germany and Berlin
14. Capital of Luxembourg? Lux. City
15. Do you speak German? No
16. So you didnt learn German here and you want to go there to learn? Yes, but my course is taught entirely in English, to which he said ok.

"That will be all, any question for me? to which I answered No, well we are good with you, tell your school to contact the Ausländerbehörde and have a nice day"

Please look for something else if you have the time, he won't even give you the opportunity to explain yourself and if you happen to be among the first set of people, you run the risk of joining the last.

Yes he did, he goes around each time he calls out a particular document, to check if you placed it properly the way he wants.

You've to be smart and lucky because Paulinus could be unpredictable at times. During my time, he only checked the first two sets he called out. After which, he didn't check again. But like I said, he's unpredictable. Good luck buddy.
