The federal university he built in Otoeke in his hometown was just a glorified college which he failed to complete at the end of his tenure and his successors President Buhari is unwilling to properly fund the university due to his 95 % and 5 % WHO GAVE HIM THE VOTE POLICY. President Buhari is refusing to fund the federal university of marines in Okerenkoko in Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta state and the federal university of Petroleum in Ugbomro, Effurun Delta state.

If commonsense was common, simple human reasoning would have thought Ex-President Jonathan that it would have been wise to build a university for his own people in Bayelsa state alone without extending it to other states so as to get sufficient funds to complete it to standard. Forget the idea of spreading universities to Katsina state, Ekiti state, Kogi state, Ebonyi state, Borno state etc. They did not ask for universities and there was nothing they would done if these states were denied federal universities. Moreover, despite its location it is a university for all Nigerian student not only Bayelsan.

The money that would have completed a standard federal university in Bayelsa state was drained by other states majority of whom are not contributing to the federation accounts in Abuja.

Every federal government policies in Nigeria seems to be politise in Nigeria accross regional, ethnic, geographical, religious lines not minding its implications on best global practice.

Ex-President Jonathan shot the Niger delta region on its foot in his inglorious 6 years presidency.

Maybe Ex-President Jonathan got the office on a platter of gold and had no ambition except being a deputy governor. Hence he did not value what he got so easily from Ex-President Obasanjo and which later confirmed with the death of Ex-President Musa Yar Adua.
