Please regarding family ties in Canada and country of resindence. I have an aunt in Canada and I stated it in my second application. She’s a citizen in Canada. Could that be the reason why they denied me stating family ties in Canada also? Because I included all my siblings documents here in Nigeria to serve as strong home ties. In my third application, I didn’t state I have a relative in Canada. Considering the fact that they already have the information in their system, what do I do to address the issue of family ties in Canada?. I need suggestions please . Thanks
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by kpizzle: 1:44pm On Sep 02, 2018
Thanks for the stat but we need to know a little more

For example what is the total student TRV application if the number of refusal is 106,867 students? Presently, CIC claim that approval rate is 78% but this is an average that includes 100% approval for US & Europe, 25% approval for Somalia etc and maybe like 45% from Africa.

Never judge stat from face value.

eastafro:

its not that bad actually.
from 2017's 600,000 refusals only 106,867 were student TRVs .
even the overall rate is impressive. 494,133/2.3 million applicants refusals . that's a huge chance of being approved if you ask me.
plus
" Refusal rates were highest for applicants from
Africa and Middle East, with 75 per cent of
applications from Somalia, Yemen, Syria and
Afghanistan being rejected in the last two years."

I didn't disclose her pregnancy in my SOP but I clearly stated that I am married and even attached our marriage certificate. My brother is my only sponsor but i provided evidential document of bequeathed property and stated that my wife would be the one collecting rents from my tenants to fend for herself and our child in Nigeria while am studying in Canada. I have no company and I clearly stated this in my SOP. Thanks for the advise brother. I will apply for GCMS note.

She's not the principal applicant (PA) and also not accompanying you to Canada. This is the more reason why I don't think her pregnancy was what led to your refusal in as much as the new born baby is also a strong tie for you in NIgeria and can't affect your application in anyway. Please quickly order for the GCMS NOTE, as I am very much interested in your case. It shall end in praises.

Few schools in Canada can accept 2.2 for a masters if you got some working experience in that field, because I have someone with a 2:2 running his master program at the University of Toronto.

Good day Frank,

I don't know if it only applies to people that are sending additional documents to CIC that Nairobi is slamming like this or just because one just sent them mail.. Now the question is how can one actually track were his or her application is being processed or one should just conclude that all paperwork goes to Nairobi.. Why am saying is I have sent up-to 3 mails to CIC offices Accra, London, and Lagos, I have not had any comments cojent from them online application just getting autoresponse, what do you advise 14weeks now..... How will one know were his application is stocked..

Since 7th of August eligibility start and went back to processing on the 8th till now..

Please do justice as usual..

Those that were slammed with a refusal after sending a CSE are paper route applicants and I must let you know that it's not because of the additional documents they sent that led to their immediate refusal, either it's probably the Visa officer in charge of their applications has already finalised/concluded with their applications. What I figured out was the CSE they sent only helped to fast track a response to their application decision, but never attributed to their refusal.

In regards your question, all paper applications are currently treated at Nairobi. Majority of online applications are processed in London, while of them are hanled at Lagos visa office. Your long-waited (14 weeks) application is most likely to be processed at the London visa office, they are always slow in visa process. Fall terms are generally known as a peak period for every Canadian embassies across the globe, because all schools in Canada have resumption date for this term. So, getting a response during this "Rush" season is usually not an easy task for the visa officers. Hence, continue sending a CSE to them owing to the fact that your application has exceeded the normal processing times for Nigerian applicants. You will surely get a response from them!

Happy Sunday house.

Please I have a question to ask.

Will I encounter a problem at the point of entry (POE) if i defer my admission to September, 2019 due to delay in visa approval and my study Visa is later approved this year 2018?

Our case is similar. Nairobi denied me 30 mins after I sent them my letter of explanation through web form. I doubt if they even went through it

If you sent your form through the web forum, there is no way Nairobi could have gotten the form in 30 minutes and made a decision. Web forum correspondence is handled by IRCC from Canada and takes an average of 10 days to process and be replied. It just coincidence that at the time you initiated the web forum, that is when Nairobi unleashed its infamy (denial).

Is it valid in CAD? , I know it has only a year validity.

Seems I stumbled across someone saying only license done with biometrics can be used in CAD
ANYONE WITH INFO SHOULD SHED MORE LIGHT

I don’t know if international drivers license is valid for use in Canada. I know in the United States it is not valid. I would imagine Canada is the same.

Since you have no strong family ties and strong asset, you need to concentrate on your work, showing your job prospects in Nigeria when you return. Get a reputable and respected person to write a letter of attestation commenting on your job prospect in your chosen course when you return to Nigeria. That person can say your career field in Nigeria is highly in demand and very lucrative, that the expertise you bring from Canada to that field will not only be respected in Nigeria, but will make you a force to be reckoned with. If you can’t find someone, you can say so yourself in your SOP. Since it appears you have some study gaps, try and cover them by showing how you have kept academically active or have been learning on your job and can still translate that passion for your work back to the classroom. Tell them that you are excited to go back to school and beleive your education Would be a great investment in the future of Nigeria.

I personally have assisted an applicant last week to send a CSE through the web form, we got a response within the space of an hour (1 hour). My point is that sometimes they respond faster not minding the average of 10 days that was stated on their site. You're correct, the CSE has got nothing to do with their refusal, it's just a coincidence.

Personally never seen such rapid response. But if it’s true and such document or new information was on file at the time a decision was made, it was considered and it would have played a part of the decision making process. One cannot tell if it influenced the VO’s decision making process. Only GCMS can tell.

. Thank you bro. I have ordered for my gcms note and working forward on reapplying by October when I’ve received it. How do I tackle the issue of home tie in Canada because I stated I have an aunt in Canada in my second application. Could that be the reason why I get slammed with family ties?. Do I need any letter from her addressing that?

I looked it up, it seems that the Iinternational Drivers License IDP is what suffices.

“To legally drive a car in Canada, you'll need a driver's licence issued by the government of your province or territory. You must have it with you whenever you're driving. ... If you plan to use a foreign driver's licence in Canada, you should get an International Driving Permit (License) (IDP) in your home country.Jul 24, 2017”

It's better to use the bolded rather than saying "there is no way Nairobi could have gotten the form in 30 minutes and made a decision" making it look as if the moniker was a falsifier. All the same today you got to know they sometimes respond fast.

Hope he's good to go

@jnyuwa02 and Frankrobbn1 please advice

You won’t encounter any trouble as long as you go within a reasonable time to your resumption date. So anytime after June 2019, you can travel and if POE proffers a reason for coming early, tell them you came to get acclimated to your new environment before school starts. The problem with coming way to early is that they will think you came to work before school starts and can deny you entry. A visa is not a guarantee that you will enter Canada, the real permission is with the officer’s discretion at POE. So better to be safe than be sorry!

You mustn't have someone in Canada before you can be eligible to request for your CAIPS file. Unfortunately, it is a mandatory rule by the moderator of this thread that no individual is permitted to share third party gcms websites. Hence, you can do yourself a great favour by checking out the reviews of other gcms websites outside this thread to order for your gcms note.

It will end in praises in your next application.

What about a scenario where at the time the applicant is applying for visa, the Nigerian passport expires in May 2019 and the Nigerian Immigration insists on not renewing it until less than six month expiration but the visa is issued to end in May 2019 when the passport expires. Can he/she travel in that May before the visa expires?
