Hi folks,

Please, I need to connect with anyone that has used the services of WES for transcript evaluation as well as contribution from esteemed members of this forum. There seem to be have been some changes; it seems WES now requires WAEC result to be sent along with university transcripts and certificates. The questions I have are:

Firstly, for applicants that have completed a Master's degree, will the evaluation fee be charged separately for each of Undergraduate and Master's documents evaluation.

Secondly, is there anyone here that graduated from FUT Minna and University of Ibadan that has done credentials evaluation with WES in here? I want to know how long the verification process took. WES claims they will have to send the credentials they receive back to the awarding institutions/universities to verify they are genuine. I am just wondering how long the entire process will take.

Thirdly, will the copy of certificate for each degree earned to be sent by the applicant to WES be sent via regular mail/courier or electronically via email?

Lastly, how does one go about obtaining WAEC certificate to be sent to WES? Is it at WAEC headquater or at the state capital one resides. I am just wondering if it will be WAEC that will send it or if the person requesting it can be given in sealed envelope to be sent to WES?

Please, don't mind my endless questions. I am worried by the difficulty of requesting all these credentials from Nigerian Institutions particularly the WAEC result. The cost of evaluation self ($205) is discouraging as well as other concomitant charges like delivery cost to recipients.

I eagerly await responses. Thank you guys.

Thank you so dearly bolubej. You have succinctly answered the last question with the screenshot.

I finally received a response to the first question too from WES. I was told via email that both transcripts (Undergraduate and Master's) would be evaluated for 'one price'. I assume that means at the standard price of $205 for ICAP course-by-course evaluation.

I am left with the number 2 question. I want to know how long (months) it took WES to evaluate both Bachelor's and Master's credentials after receipt from awarding institutions.

Yes it's possible, Just go along with the names of those institutions and their GRE institution codes.
But as I believe pronto543 is trying to say, a lot of changes and reconsiderations may occur before you apply, due to unforeseen circumstances.
But yes it's possible to make changes to institutions you'll be reporting scores to on the test day for free.

Response time is very relative (it can take weeks to months) depending on various factors:
1. how fast your schools (your UG/G unis) attend to emails,
2. how fast they sort, prepare your transcript & send them to WES,
3. if you have anybody constantly/physically doing a follow-up for you
4. also bear in mind tips might exchange hands to get some things done
5. the best time to start is now & hopefully it goes well
if you attended a public trust me it will take long

No, I have been speaking with the Professor for a very long time now. He had limited spaces in his lab. Fortunately, one student dropped (Dude got a GATES Cambridge scholarship) and he offered me the space after I had got my visa for another school.
He did assist me with switching on getting to the USA.

Thanks for all the valid points raised. My UG and Grad Schools actually process and send transcript within 7 working days of receipt and payment of necessary fees. It could take longer if one is applying for the first time. Luckily enough for me, I have done so before so it shouldn't take much time for the transcripts to be dispatched.

The best time to apply is now as you rightly noted. Thanks once again.

I connected with the Professor via his email. That is the most basic way especially if you are miles away from the school. Just mail any of the Professors in your target schools. As you do that, also read the admission guidelines. These will help you know if it is profiting to contact a professor prior to submitting your application or not.

Good day to the whole house.

Please maths gurus... kindly help solve with detailed explanation the GRE question below...

When the positive integer (n) is divided by 3, the remainder is 2, and when (n) is divided by 5, the remainder is 1. what is the least possible value of (n)? what is the greatest value of (n)?

Thanks.

Thanks.

My GRE exam is close by.

The GRE approach would be to look critically at the second premise because it's easier to correlate with the initial premise.

Positive integer N divided by 5 with remainder of 1 ends with a 1 or a 6. So 1,6,11,16,21,26...

For the least possible value just test with the first premise N divided by 3 with generated values from the second premise. Looking through the values 1/3 has R =1 and 6/3 has R=0, 11/3 has R = 2. So 11 is the answer.

I think the simple trick is recognizing the importance and simplicity of the second premise as opposed to the first and using the generated values to test a priori the first premise.

Did they really ask for greatest value of N. That's easily infinity because there would always be a value greater than the greatest value you find out some of the few values I could look through are 56,116.

I'm assuming the question had options in finding the greatest value amongst the option just test the initial generated values with the second premise.
If the options were say
a)1
b)6
c)11
d)21
e)26

To test for least possible value start from the smallest option in ascending order. Likewise for the greatest value start from the greatest value in descending order.

So in that case 11 and 26 would be your answers.

Just recognize the pattern that positive integers N divided by 5 with remainder 1 always end with a 1 or a 6, I think that's what you get to take away from the question.

Hey guys, how we all doing. Shared my profile some time back when i was applying for fall 2018 but had issues with my nairaland account and could not post much in the rush of receiving a late offer, visa interview and finally landing in the Us. Well am at UToledo Ohio (Chemical Engineering Masters) and Its been a bit demanding settling here with all the paper works and school work as well. But it has also been interesting and inspiring thus far. The cultural diversity is amazing (i've got about 7 nationalities in a class where we are less than 15). Classes have started and a brother gotta bring back his A game to transport and Thermo courses (which involves deep search in my mental archive but God dey sha), and somehow i've found my way into the lab i had interest in even before professors start presenting their research (though i reached out to the prof while back in Nigeria who said she needed a PhD instead but somehow on getting here, a masters student in the lab quit and i kinda got in). So last last i have sha put a lot of work load for my self as i am also a TA and have started some research coupled with course work and group projects. All in all God has been faithful and Nigerians here have been very helpful.

I wanna wish everyone applying for fall or spring next year all the best in your endeavors. You all will share your success stories. The whole application process is energy sapping and sometimes frustrating but in the end it would be worth the stress.

Nairaland is the best stop for advice on US application as far as i can tell. God bless everyone that puts their effort to assist others, special thanks to Scholastica16 for always been available...only God can reward you bro, maybe i'd come visit next summer..haha.

As often as i can i will try to be here and respond in situations where i have got something to say.

Have a lovely weekend.

It depends on the school's admission procedure but it will never hurt to send an email. Majority of the USA schools (I will say 'All' actually) have their Professors emails on their website. Just search more.
