I'm curious, truly. Finding out that the name "Jesus" is just a translated name (greek, english, correct if wrong) and the original Hebrew name being Yahushua, got me thinking hard. So normally the English name today would be Joshua. So with this, i ask, will mentioning the name differently still have the same effect and if so, will saying "in the name of Joshua" also have the needed effect?
i would love a detailed explanation on this.
Re: Does "In The Name Of Jesus" Really Work? by iSpread(m): 3:50am On Sep 05, 2018
These things are all in the scripture. The bible didn't say "In the Name of Yahushua or Joshua", though they are translated names and you cannot start saying "In the name of Joshua..." Satan is not going to hear you.

The bible says in Philippians 2:9-11:

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

So all authority is vested in the name of Jesus. Therefore, keeping Satan in check isn’t a question of how “strong” or “spiritual” you think you are; it’s about Jesus and the authority He’s given you; you walk and live in His Name. Satan has no right to run things in your life, in your home or in the lives of your loved ones; run him out!

Exercise your authority in Christ over him. You can cast out demons any day, anytime and anywhere, simply by using the Name of Jesus. When you address Satan and his cohorts of darkness in the Name of Jesus, they respond as though they were hearing directly from Jesus. So, in dealing with Satan, don’t negotiate with him; cast him out! That’s what Jesus said we should do.

Someone asked, “What if the devil doesn’t go when I try to cast him out?” That’s not an option, if you’re walking in His Name. The demons have no choice but to leave.

Mentioning the name differently isn't going to work, there's no one that cannot pronounce the name Jesus, even some languages in Nigeria for example has different meaning to the name Jesus but no matter the tribe you still find people calling Jesus. So do as the word has said and start using the Name of Jesus for your reigning life, you are a victor not a victim. Praise God!

To add I will say that there is awesome power in the name of Jesus. The bible says that God has given him( Jesus Christ) the name above every other name that at the mention of the name Jesus Christ every kneel MUST bow and every tongue must confess that JESUS CHRIST is the son of God both the things in heaven, under the heavens. But you need to be in right standing with God for you to utilize this power.

how can you say satan will not hear it when the original itself is Yahushua or better yet Joshua for modern pronunciation? the word christ mean messiah (in greek)..its not actually a name.

also your quotation are actually translations. please i want a better response than simply quoting scriptures.

if you do say mentioning the name will not work then you are telling me that the original name wields no power. if the original name wields no power how can the made up translation( there was no "J" back then until later) name wield the power instead? unless ofcos you dont know that Jesus Christ isnt his original name and even then the appropriate modern translation is Joshua actually.

The scriptures (the word of God) talks about Jesus, so there's no explanation of him without referring to the scriptures. The Bible says, there is no name under heaven given to men whereby they may be save except the name Jesus.
I don't think the name Jesus is hard to call. It is important the bible is follow as it was written so as to get the results it talks about. In Christianity there is order, things are not done just anyhow you feel. The word of God is our guide.
The most important thing is being born again, receiving his life and living out your God given purpose.

If you don't believe the bible, what are references to your claims.

brother i get wat u are sayn but im telling u right now that the original scriptures did not have the name "Jesus" in them. what you are seeing today is the bible that has gone through levels of translation. please understand this simple concept and answer my question from that point on. THE NAME "JESUS" WAS NEVER IN THE ORIGINAL SCRIPTURES. HIS NAME WAS YAHUSHUA.

the reason i asked that you dnt quote scriptures is becos wat you see today is not the original scripture, therefore simply quoting would be missing the point entirely.

Okay simply do this, replace the name Jesus with the name Yahushua or Joshua(for a more proper modern pronunciation of the original name) and then answer my question properly. I hope you get me now.

okay sir, you speak English, and already know that the name Jesus is a translation of the Hebrew Yahushua in English, are you a Hebrew man or a Greek man, why are you stressing yourself? how does this add to your spiritual growth? are you born again?
and besides you didn't even spell it well its not Yahushua
it is y'eshua in the Greek and y'oshua in the Septuagint don't confuse yourself, its not in the spelling or pronunciation of the name but the person and the office in the name that gives results.

its why i asked the question..to gain clarification not to have u attacking my character. i see nowhere in my post where i used an aggressive tone so unless you have some education for me you could've avoided this thread easily. thank you for the spelling correction. still my question stands.

you just wrote up dere that saying "in the name of Joshua" not work but we must mention the name "Jesus" i jux made you aware that Jesus isnt even the original name and now you are attacking my character. please do well to properly answer the question or move on.

Re: Does "In The Name Of Jesus" Really Work? by Horus(m): 11:49am On Sep 07, 2018

Yashua

There is NO letter "J" in the Hebrew, Arabic, Greek and Latin language! The letter "J" as this letter did not exist some 2,000 years ago.
The letter "J" is only 500 years old. If Jesus was a Jew and there is no letter J in the hebrew language then his name could not have been Jesus.
It is all a fabrication; The Jesus Story was taken out of ancient Tamare (falsely called Africa and Egypt). These are the records of Haru (Horus) mixing with Greek, Roman, Hinduism to give you the Jesus story. Basically the Jesus story was based on the life of the ancient African Haru (who the Greeks called Horus) and they mixing it with their mythlogies to create a new religion. His was done by the PISO FAMILY.
Do your own research to Investigate Josephus Flavius Piso.

original name or not we aren't interested in all that.

All we are interested is the person, Jesus

all these church people, una funny o grin grin

So church will twist bible to suit your traditional hunger of believing that Satan and it agents or demons have power to attack and hurt you people, and you people will believe in such lies abi?

All I'm saying is, believing in the power of demons have not done any good to any christian

Go back and read the whole of that scripture again, Satan agents or demons were never mentioned.

I don't know where churches are getting that from?

Perhaps from African traditional believes and fictions.

Question : have you ever seen Christians being delivered from witchcrafts and demon's in churches before?

That is home video grin

did I hear you right? You don't believe demons exist? I pity you greatly. Well whether you believe or yes doesn't in any way disturb them or stop their existence. Why Christians are better is cos the word of God has prepared us with the weapons of warfare which are not carnal and has also assured us of our victory in Christ Jesus.

chiommy123:
did I hear you right? You don't believe demons exist?
don't be scared of demons!
They only exist in the spiritual rhelm like their master the devil. Ever since christ resurrected approx. 2000 years ago they do not have any power to do any physical harm in this physical world anymore, not even Satan himself.
Infact all powers have been given to us.(not spiritual powers o). The power to go ahead and do what is right for ourselves.
Now, if we fail to do what is right, that is when failures comes, not the devil or demons are causing the failures but our inability to think and understand and solve simple physical problems.
So, all these ones churches are telling you people that your failure to succeed is as a result of demons or Satan, they are telling you people big lies. grin

Why Christians are better is cos the word of God has prepared us with the weapons of warfare which are not carnal
go and read it again and know what the warfare is all about.
It is not a spiritual war.
Christ has already defeated every spirit for your sake.

and has also assured us of our victory in Christ Jesus.
this is exactly the truth!

Mark the word "in christ jesus"
The victory is not by your physical power of casting and binding prayer. ;

What are we victorious over, through christ?
We are victorious over spirits not this physical world.

Christ did not come to give us victory over physical successes.

Therefore, the name of Jesus has already been working for you, not that it was meant to work for you later in the future when you begin to see success from your troubles

OP, don't worry yourself alright?. I have been using the name 'Jesus Christ', and it has always worked for me.

God understands all languages, if God accepts it, then Satan has no say about it. If there is any addition or subtraction, the Lord Holy Spirit is always available to guide us.

In dealing and relating with God, the Holy Spirit, and not just history, is all we need. Thanks.
