On a particular thread, you said in Ogun State and that the person quoted was wrong even when the guy was saying the truth. Just like I said on that thread performance is relative. You have to compare the performance of a governor or a party to the previous one. Another angle is to compare the performance of a governor to other governors in the the country. Most of the people supporting the PDP candiate here are from the Eastern part of the country. Why don't they compare the performance of Aregbe to governors from the East who spent 8 years. Abia, Ebonyi(before Umahi), Imo. Also compare the performance of Aregbe to the governors before him in the state, Akande, Oyinlola(who spent 5-6yrs). We all went to school so let's argue with facts, figures like we were taught. Please try and be civil when making your points next time. Thanks

thanks, alright.. I'm usually civil but you know u should not keep quiet when people gang up to bully you online because you don't agree with them.

secondly I'm not a pdp supporter, not that I'm afraid to admit that, infact in this election I'm actually indifferent, because a new shiny governor does not mean everything will suddenly change in the twinkle of an eye..

but to be honest, I secretly wish omisore should win..

and thirdly, I can only speak on what I know and what Im witnessing,so it is irrelevant to be comparing aregbe to other governors ( in the east)

He did well in osogbo, that is undeniable, but when you see propagandist regurgitating nonsense that he built all those roads you see online all over osun state, and you know it's nothing but a lie, you have to talk out.
you only need to take a major tour all around osun towns, and your eyes will quickly open.

However if you read my posts very well, roads or not, or other things are not why I'm against aregbe.
I'm against him because of salaries and pensions...
he used Jonathan as an excuse first, then he said if Buhari wins, that will be a thing of the past.
then Buhari won, and the situation got worse, despite collecting more than one bailout funds which the Fg said categorically it should be used to pay salaries and pensions.
All the pensioners that retired during Aregbe's regime have not collected gratuity, talk less of being paid their normal monthly stipends...civil servants are owed a year and 7 months salary and with election a few days away, he is definitely not gonna pay up...
thats the highest height of wickedness, I refused to follow a politician dogmentically, I'm a commoner and my sympathy lies with fellow commoners...

you will see apc goons uploading roads and schools, but non payment of salary and pensions does not matter to them.

lmao...

I'm not interested in your regurgitated ipob lies and disgusting nonsense.

You liked that he did not increase the IGR, but I proved to you with facts that he did by a massive 30%.

You are now lying that he increased the state debt by 1000%, but you can not show us any fact or documented evidence to back that up with.

You are nothing but a bitter, disgruntled village ipob liar.

Aregbesola increased loan repayment and loan repayment duration by at least 450% and 200% respectively. Any average mathematician knowns what that means for either a simple interest or principal interest loan system.
Please show us where I lied about IGR increase.

A 1000% increase and 30% increase in IGR is an economic mismatch.

Those yardstick you are trying to sell here by tagging people as easterners or iPod aren't intelligent.
To whom much is given much is expected.
Why not let us compare his performance to his level of funding?
1. Compare debt increase of almost 1000% to IGR increase of just 30% and tell us if it looks fair to you.
2. Compare the fact that Aregbe once paid workers 13th month salary when the state was receiving huge oil windfall to the fact that he is now paying half salary. Has the state workers suddenly gone lazy just because oil prices dwindled?
3. Same Aregbe once said the people are too poor to be taxed and now he is over deducting their meagre pay through funny loan repayment.

These are better yardstick to measure his performance than comparing him to a state(s) that didn't take up to 35% the loans Osun took.

Let's us be objective people are dying of hunger.

Good points but in Nigeria politics and once it comes elections down, performance of an administration is always relative. Look at what they are saying about Umahi. He has done really well from what I read and the pictures I've seen. But most of the pictures we've seen are majorly roads and this is because the governors before him did nothing about those roads or other infrastructure. The reason some people from Osun will praise Aregbe is because they've not seen those kind of roads he built in their state before. The day we start measuring performance of any administration by the quality improvement they made in education and human capital development is when our politicians will start sitting tight. Tinubu with all his faults will always be one of the best governors in the South West. It was not about roads for him. He did well in the area education, health and the environment. Infact I rate higher than Ambode but people will argue this. We can debate this issue of non-payment of salaries forever. I have my reservations but I will leave till after the election.

Well since you have lived in Osun for a long time, compare his performance to the performance of the governors before him, Akande and Oyinlola. I have my reservations regarding this issue of non-payment of salaries but I will leave that discussions till after the election no matter who's voted in. Let's be honest, Aregbesola has done well.

Infrastructure is what leads to increase in commerce and with commerce stems creativity.

The move away from a bloated civil service should be encouraged and this salary debt should be seen as a blessing in disguise.

When the revenue stream by way of allocation was much more, the people enjoyed 13 months of salaries which implies the governor is pretty much welfarist but wouldn't compromise infrastructure for wages.

A look to our history would suggest very few governors have provided such dramatic infrastructural growth within the time frame.

History would be kind to Aregbe.

That's why I said I will leave my reservations on the issues of salary till after the election so people won't think one encourages the non-payment of salaries. I agree with you on the bloated civil service but you very well know that everything is politics in this part of the world. My take on our various states civil services is that instead of laying them off why not pay some of them off and reduce the size of your workforce. It has been proven in Osun that you can work as a governor without commissioners and advisers for a year or so. Use the salaries and allowances of these commissioners and advisers(and their advisers) to pay off some your civil servants. That way they have something to set themselves up and you reduce the size of your civil service considerably.

so indeed history will be kind to aregbe who leave huge debts and pay half salaries because building of roads is the only function of a government.

Press Statement

N16b Secret Release To Osun Is Corruption, PDP Tells Buhari.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) accuses President Muhammadu Buhari of aiding corruption in the secret release of over N16.6 billion Paris Club fund to Osun state.

PDP says its investigation has revealed that the N16.67bn is to be diverted as bribe to INEC officials, compromised international observers as well as pay hoodlum contracted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in its desperate plot to rig the September 22, 2018 Osun Governorship elections.

The party said it is reprehensible that President Buhari, whose handlers have been parading as ‘Mr. Integrity’, could approve such dark scheme to convert funds meant for payment of several months’ arrears of workers’ salaries to bribe electoral officers and pay thugs to foist a rejected leadership on an already impoverished people.

Further investigation reveals that bulk of the money has already been penciled for sharing to APC leaders, especially at the national level, as bribe, to short-circuit the system to favour President Buhari’s relection bid, while the people of Osun continue to suffer deprivation.

The PDP has been further made aware of how part of the fund will be moved to private company accounts as well as various hidden locations for the compromised INEC officials and APC leaders.

Indeed, these revelations have clearly shown that the Buhari Presidency and the APC care less about the welfare of Nigerians and have completely sold themselves to sleazes and corruption for selfish gains.

The PDP therefore charges the people of Osun State, particularly the workers to rise up and reject this direct assault on their rights, sensibilities and survival as a people, by the APC, which have become notorious for corruption and subversion of rules.

Moreover, the PDP has been at alert regarding the movement of these funds and other secret deals between the APC and INEC and will not hesitate to expose the INEC officials, including a close relation of the President, who has been the arrow head of plots to rig elections for the APC.

The PDP invites the world to note how President Buhari and the APC, who were huge beneficiaries of credible elections conducted by the PDP in 2015, are bent at destroying our hard-earned democracy, just because they have been rejected by Nigerians.

Nevertheless, in spite of these machinations, the PDP wants the APC to know that it has not retracted the resolve to contend with it head to head, in all ramifications and magnitude, to discomfit and dismantle its rigging machinery, beginning with September 22, 2018 Osun state governorship election.

The PDP commends state governors, particularly a few in the APC, who have spoken out against this sneaky act by the Buhari Presidency.

Our party will continue to work with these patriotic individuals in the overall quest to free our nation from the shackles and misrule of the Buhari-led APC.

Fayose lost because neither infrastructure nor salaries surfaced.

Deomelo has given rolls of photos chronicling the infrastructural developments within the state.

The civil service is only subsection of the workforce and we can see from the photos that roadworks, waterworks, educational Institutions, and security were given priorities.

One of you guys claimed these were old photos yet I noticed the dates on the unveiling of a number of them being from 2018.

Those buses would not drive themselves. The garment factories would employ. The mechatronics would provide training and employment.

Please tell us why Aregbe's legacy should not include nominating a successor from his party, when it is evident he has done better than 95% of governors in this democracy of ours in my estimation.

Those roads cannot be discounted and Deomelo provided location of many of these projects. So insisting they were concentrated in Oshogbo holds no water.

The best counterargument is purveying your own better argument simply by showing us how and why the opposition is better and will win, but they can not do that because they are empty-handed and can not show the people of Osun state what their PDP uncles did in their time that the people of OSUN benefited from.

They can no formulate any sane and rational argument beyond lies, deception and ignorant rubbish.

One of them asserted that Argbesola increased the state debt by 1000%, but when asked to show documented facts and how he arrived at that figure, he dodged and eventually ran away.

Trust me, I know these Igbos, they care less about the people of Osun, their main preoccupation is hatred.

lol @ Igbos. They can not show us or give us any reason why their looting and stealing PDP uncles will win in OSUN STATE, the same way they can not show us what their village ipob governors did with their taxes and allocations apart from boreholes..

Your head must be paining you. why hasn't Aregbe himself officially revealed the loan details?

The increment in loan tenure and repayment reveals that simple fact you are trying so hard to discredit.

Let Aregbe publish the loan detaiks and lets see if the increament on debt isnt close to 1000% and let us also compare the loan funds available to him to what you are sampling here as achievements.

Nnewi and abakaliki Igbos are here losing sleep and killing themselves over Osun state workers as if they really care about Osun state.

Well, this is what Osun state workers did with their wonderful governor this morning...

Stop dancing and dodging.

I'm not interested in your ignorant and unintelligent ipob lies

Show us your calculation with figures per how you arrived at 1000%.

You are a very intelligent man.

Infrastructure development is what develops a state not mindless paying an overbloated workforce
