A final year student of a Nigerian University identified as Desmond has reportedly taken his own life by hanging after getting carry over in his exams. Is this madness, foolishness, abi na village people 'handi-work'? Ayam not understanding. Kai, the way some people reason ehn, if he could take his life for common Carry Over, am still wondering what he would had done if he was rusticated. Graduating with a 1st class isn't even a guarantee to a successful career, infact, I don dey para for the boy like dis. The truth of the matter is nobody really cares, why live your life to please people who might not have you in their thoughts? If he could be resurrected, he needs to be tied and flogged to reset his thinking faculty before given words of wisdom. Just imagine the pain his parents must be going through right now, if his mom had miscarried him while she was pregnant, I'm sure they would had gotten over pain now. Nothing, I repeat, NOTHING is worth taking your life, no matter the situation you find yourself, always remember you were not the first to be in that situation and you won't be the last to be. Carryover is not the end of the world. I know of people who got it, some even waved a course and still came out with 2:1 |

what nonsense, arrant nonsense. I had poor grades and carry over which led to force full expulsion from my department (mechanical engineering) and went to a new department(surveying and Geoinformatics) , still had multiple carry overs. I was still determined to graduate with good grades even though I still had to spill. i had a total of 7-8 carryovers. The good News is that i just landed a FG job. my message to all is that Academic Excellence is overrated amongst undergraduates. #GODWIN 1 Like |
