Unfortunately, that area is no longer Lagos State, Nigeria. You guys need to seek for referendum and join Benin Republic.

APC Government failed woefully in providing any basic infrastructure in that part.

The road in question (10 lanes) was initiated by Tunde Fashola in 2008, and 10 years after no meaningful closure.

I weep seeing my base and my people being subjected to daily agony on that road.

Mile 2 to Agbara, a trip of 45 mins now takes minimum of 7 hours.

Have you ever asked any lagosian plying that route and they attested to all being well?

You all would just come with you generalization, whether because of hate or jealousy I really do not understand.

Not everywhere is developed in any state in any country.

Should you be unfortunate to pass through these routes, you would understand better.
As it is amongst the most important trunk A roads connecting Nigeria to/with other west African countries.

I hail those living within that axis.

Story, this road has been like this since 1993 when i visited weekly, i still visit badagry every now and then, it's still the same o'l bullshit. Run way from that dead zone, even the government wish it isn't part of the state ( well except for its crude oil ofcourse grin )

Bros I'm also a witness those engineers are not doing anything . they are just playing politics with the road. and ambode said they want to sign second phase of the project when people has seen nothing from mile 2 to okokomaiko undecided

Lagos might be "overhyped" or "dirty". But that doesn't stop some people from trooping into Lagos en masse as though their mission in life can never be accomplished outside Lagos. Interestingly, these same people come to the Lagos they pretend to hate, and they stay there forever.

Hate Lagos as much as you can, but it remains the leading state in Nigeria, and home to the biggest opportunities in the country.

Tell them o. Those children of hate don't realize that even cities like Dubai and NYC have their fair share of shitty-looking slums.

Nobody is disputing that fact, but the issue here is that government should take responsibility. They collect tax from us, yet we have bad infrastructure. What do they do with those tax? Driving into Victoria Island these days is hell, just because of one bad spot at bonny camp.

I totally agree with you. But my comment was actually directed at those who want to hijack the thread for lampooning Lagos as a whole, not at straight thinkers like you.

What an eyesore!! Is it humans that live in this place or pigs?? Some !diots are even defending this crime against humanity and trying to draw parallel with great cities like Dubai among others, so shameful. FYI, you can never see such dirty and disgusting environment in Dubai or even some other African cities and the worst thing is that most parts of Lagos mainland looks like the pictures we are seeing here. Then one begins to wonder where all the trillions of naira generated and allocated to Lagos is going to, well your guess is as good as mine....it is going into the pocket of that ugly monster who has been controlling Lagos since 1999, Bola Tinubu. A former capital territory and financial capital of the country is being run like a drug cartel yet the citizens of the state are not bothered instead they even take pride in their suffering by saying things like it makes them tough shocked shocked Then one begins to wonder if they are allergic to pleasure and the good things of life.

This one is small.
Go to Egbeda and Ipaja areas and see pot holes on every road and on every street.
even the estates and houses built for them by Gowon and Shagari are in pitiable states.
