.... so how would the most likely incompetent and mediocre MD of a local 'new' Nigerian oil firm earn almost that monthly? If he earns anything close to that amount, then I smell massive corruption. In any case the executive compensation package of most senior management in Nigerian companies is riddled with corruption. You pay so much to useless mediocres with no special skills or outstanding contribution whatsoever.

Unless you mean the OWNER-manager of the company, and then I can believe. Even then, it has to be a company operating one of these marginal oil fields or a major servicing retainer with the oil majors.

The highest salaries I have come across in Nigeria are in finance, oil and gas and marine work. If you want to earn extraordinary salary become a mariner. I know a 29 year old second officer earning 900k per month. On the other hand, business owners, and board members get significantly more money than this, but not as salary.
