National youth service is as serious as been drafted for military service in the US.

Dodging military service in the states is a VERY big offence that will cause you your office and even send you to jail.

So far as the NYSC law has not been repealed,it still stand as a must for any Nigerian graduate below 30.

Contacted Tuesday, Mr. Shittu admitted that he did not serve but claimed he thought his first political post after graduation could suffice as national service, a claim lawyers and NYSC insiders consider as ludicrous and untenable.

If we are talking about nysc for graduates to disqualify them, what about ssce failure serving senator who never graduate and want to occupy the same position. I think as far he get minimum qualification specify in the constitution he's good to go. Meanwhile that part of the duty of Saraki and Dogora who are been paid with tax payers millions every month but couldn't screen nominee effectively and want to rule the nation, legislatures are just there doing nothing.

My brother there is no big deal abt NYSC o. Even me sef i hated it, but i had no choice. Its a useless law which they put. So they should not dodge it. If it were me and u looking for a job in govt parastatal, they would have denied us the job. If it were someone from the opposition party, they would have been shouting by nw. Imagine it was Saraki that had dis issue. Infact lets nr imagine sef. Remember when Dino had dis issue, they wntd to chop him.

The truth is dt there is no big deal abt NYSC but if its a law in this country,then everyone MUST respect it

The minister said he believed that having been elected lawmaker, he needed not participate in the national service.
He said he deliberatively skipped the NYSC scheme because he was convinced that his membership of the state assembly was itself a “service”.

Lol the Oyo state government, DSS and NASS let criminal though. I guess the vetting process has been a joke for decades. These rules on apply to little guys on social hierarchy. He's just another unrepentant criminal and should be punished. 

To anyone who wants to get rid of NYSC contact your representatives. Let them know your beef. The institution has outlived its it's usefulness in my opinion. Graduates should move straight into labor force. Nigeria has had multiple Constitutional Amendments this shouldn't be too hard. I'm sure the rest of the crooks don't feel like doing this anyway.
