Let him request for new resumption date, so that he will be able to attend the interview and resume the new job after the interview

Most of us don't understand tis world at all. What is urs will be urs, u won't have to make excuses to get it, u won't have to kill someone to get it, u won't have to deceive someone to get it. He already got a job of which if u ask him, he will say it was easy and he didn't have to do any rubbish tin to get it cos that job is his already. Tell your cousin that if he's considering going to that job interview, he is greedy and will most likely loose both jobs. On ur first day of work u want to pull excuses? Cos of another job u are not sure of, which pays 3x. Let me tell u God gives u freely but the devil is at one corner planning to take it away and he will succeed if u are a greedy person or a stupid person. As God gave u that job, the other 3x pay job is for someone else cos u already got urs, be grateful and work diligently, u will get opportunities to go higher and get 5x paying job. Be wise.

Quickly communicate with your new line manager and inform him/her you will resume a day after(if the interview is going to take the whole day) or some hours behind scheduled time if the interview will just take some hours from you.

Let him reschedule the interview with the Multinational, maybe to next month or so and see if he would be granted.

He should just rescheduled it to like Thursday of the Monday he resume. I am sure they would accept. Baring which he should ditch them and stay faithful to his new employer, lest he fail into trap.

Good morning y'all,

We need sound advice from you guys.

A cousin got a good job that pays six figures and is expected to start in a week. The few days to commencement of work he received an interview invite from a multinational company that will pay him thrice and other amazing benefits. It is a sort after position and there is no guarantees that he may get in even though he is a bright and an intelligent dude.
He has resigned from his former position and is waiting patiently to start the new work before this interview invitation popped up. What do you suggest he'd do?

....please ....it is quite urgent
.
He should focus on what he has
.
What he has is solid matter....
.
He should focus on it...
.
I won't comment again

Some things that look like blessings may just not be. But let me now sound like an over religious zealot.
Is there a way he can delay his resumption by a few days so he attends the interview?
Personally, I will NEVER advice he should not start the new place first and maybe take a day off to attend the other interview or something.
Sometimes too, never forget that money is not the answer to it all - job satisfaction and an environment that harnesses individuality and potential matters too.
I wish him luck on whatever his decisioon, 6 figure salary ain't no joke.

Village people like to dance Makossa on someones head.

He should Pray to God for counsel, and if he ever gets any fear or sign of doom. It's best to take the new job and forget about the drama.

Little is much when God is in it.

What is the time of the interview?
If it is in the afternoon you can still make it to the interview location.
Resume in your new office, but inform your new boss a day before the day of resumption that you will quickly need to get to your former office to get a final clearance or something sha.
If the interview is in the morning, write to the company inviting you for a reschedule.

This is what I called dilemma. Is the interview in the same location with the new offered? If yes, then he can take excuse and go for the interview. But if reverse is the case, he should just stick to the one at hand.

Invitation for interview is not a a guarantee that you would be issued an offer

May his village pple never locate him this trial period

My humble opinion is

He should resume at his new place of work which is more guaranteed
